Love that cover artwork - dynamic
Hopefully one day we get Gail’s Birds of Prey run in the omnibus format
That would be fire had to collect the trades for the artwork and another reminder of how awesome Omar can be with his recommendations. Chuck Dixon run deserves oversized treatment as well since that's where I started with Birds of Prey.
And her Secret Six run too!

I missed out on this run when I was reading the New 52 because I was reading other books so glad I can finally go back and read this run.
I had the advantage going in to this run of being a new comic reader and not having read anything with Oracle at the time. I loved the run early on (especially the stuff with Mirror Knightfall), and the Wanted stuff was good, too. I wasn't crazy about the ending with the Birds of Prey, and Fernando Pasarin's faces are a bit weird, but the Future's End stuff was cool. Overall a very good run, but inferior imho to Gail's Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman runs. That said, it introduced me to Barbara Gordon as Batgirl in the comics and I'll always appreciate it for that. I sold my trade paperbacks ages ago but had talked myself out of buying this. As always your overviews make it difficult to stick to your decisions. :-D
Animal Man has a the complete series in Omnibus.
Swamp Thing will also have his whole New 52 run in Omnibus later this month iirc
In a welcome change, I’m in UK and my copy arrived this morning! I should’ve done a quick overview to beat you! 😂 I’ve never read the new 52 but I’m all in with these bat family omnibus as so far I’m loving it!

Wasn't even thinking of picking this up as I've only been a fan of a handful of DC characters. But after watching your review Omar, I'm now thinking of picking this up. Currently only have 3 storylines of DC: Knightfall trio omnibus, prequel and story of no man's land, and the death and return of superman. Oh as I was proof reading my comment forgot I got the 5 tpb of year 1-5 of injustice that I STILL need to read lol.
I have the joker death in the family HC too but always felt I was missing out on things. So think this omnibus will hopefully fit in nicely with the few DC books I have.

In the retrospective new 52 was cool,it had many good runs and it was what brought me into comics,it was not my first comic,but it was what hooked me into continuously reading comics.I have an insane amount of nostalgia seeing these omnis.I remenber all the social media uproar those days

Agreed new 52 Bat titles were at its peak during that time. Sucks that Williamson left Batwoman though. Hope he fixes her for Frontier.

Can't wait to get this, probably my most anticipated book of the year, alongside with Batwoman Omnibus. Beautiful book!
I have the trades but I'm upgrading. My copy will be here on Monday. It's a really enjoyable run, but mainly I'm buying in the hope that sufficient sales will convinve DC to do more Gail Simone omnis; I'd really love Secret Six and Birds of Prey collectons.

Nice, definitely on my list for next week. Now I just have to figure out how to organize those on my shelf. I like chronological order but most happen in parallel. Which includes Batgirl, Batman by Snyder, WW, Aquaman, and the upcoming Batwoman, Swamp Thing, and Flashpoint. I guess Flashpoint kicks things off, but how would you organize those ^^ after that?

Great review Omar👍The new 52 is a underrated period imo.
If anything, it ushered in a LOT of new comic book readers (like myself) who felt much less daunted by the re-numbering. And it did have quite a few good runs. :-)

On preorder with Last Son Deluxe. Gail Simone's writing is top notch. Enjoyed her Wonder Woman run and still going through her Red Sonja run as well. I can't see this disappointing me at all.
Very excited about this, but also wondering if DC is ever going to put Batgirl by Burnside in Omnibus format. It was on the schedule last year I believe, then pulled....
ive had the standard hardcovers for years lol. Awesome story.
I hope they do a Justice League Dark omni if this New 52 trend continues.

I have the first 12 issues in floppies plus issue 0. I love the run. So I might jump on this one when I have some extra cash. Id you miss Oracle as I understood she is back in the role in the latest Batman stories, but I have yet to read them.

Of all the New 52 runs I’d love to see a volume 2 omnibus of The Flash. I really love the Venditti/Jensen run. I’m actually surprised we don’t hear more praise for it as it is really high quality Flash.

There was a Batgirl of Burnside Omnibus solicited, collecting Batgirl #35-52, Annual #3, Batgirl: Endgame #1, but this was cancelled in 2019 for an unspecified reason. It's likely because of the Dagger Type controversy in issue #37, where bloggers decried the issue as transphobic, and the creative team issued an apology. I believe reprints of the issue have changed the dialogue and plot: from the Batgirl pretender villain being a man, to that they should be embarrassed by their lack of acting talent. With this contention laid to rest, hopefully we'll get a second volume (just labelled Batgirl of Burnside Omnibus, rather than a Vol. 2 of Batgirl Returns).

I was hoping DC collects Simone's early run of Birds of Prey or Secret Six in omnibus format instead of her Batgirl run. Maybe in time.
