As everyone says Riddler was very very cool. The entire production was dark and moody and better written than a lot of the tv superhero show episodes out there. superheroes.
This was a really great fan work. The direction was really colorful and intense, and felt intimate. Dr. Strange and Riddler were fantastic interpretations. Let's be clear though, James Gordon Jr. and Harley Quinn absolutely stole the show. Constance was believable, active, and honest at every moment of this production.

Just found this on July 30, 2020, and man it’s good! I’m hoping to make a Batgirl fan film myself. This has set the bar really high. Excellent casting, lighting, writing, everything! This is so cool!
I must applaud this project. All of it was great; Lindsay Heath needs to be a regular actor in major Hollywood productions. I also want to point out, I was thinking the character who turned out to be Harleen Quinzel was Kate Kane (Batwoman) at first...
"Batgirl Rises" is a beautifully compelling dramatic take on the character. I love how it became it's own story and then ended back into the DC lore. Acting was incredible and so driven with real emotional talent. Writing, dialogue, and even cinematography was beyond exceptional. There is so much more that could've been added but nothing should've been taken away. 4.0/5.0 it's an amazing peice of work.

Lindsay Heath's performance is about the best redeeming feature of this short.
Why didn't I know they made a Batgirl movie? It's well written, directed, acted and shot, yet this is the first time I've heard of it! This is incredible!
This is by far, THE best Riddler I have ever seen. I always found the Riddler to be a chump. This take of the Riddler is far more menacing. A true villain worthy of Batman.
Bat Girl, honestly, I expected this to suck, however what have been an epic fail was pulled off by a truly talented actress.
Whenever I see a Harley Quinn character, I cringe in fear of failure. I have seen some pathetic attempts at filling this role. This, however, is not one of them.
Great job to cast and crew.
She was good but just didn't seem "girly" enough to me. Maybe a bit too old for the character. But nevertheless, still good.
Great ambitious piece of work. Love the retelling of Barbara, and Harley. Lead actors were very believable.

I watched a movie recently called "joker rising" it was a really good movie. This movie adds to the library of Batman.
This is AMAZING
There are plenty of major hollywood movies that don't have as good Sound Design as this one. Thats a real acomplishment.

Round of applause. This was so well done. Not hollywood quality but still good. Acting was pretty good even strong at some points (especially from harleen and barbara). Only complaint was James' acting was a bit stale. But the plot, acting, direction, and ending was exceptional. I could watch another saga of this.

Passion
This casting of the Riddler, to me was amazing. I felt the urgency to answer the riddles asked. I love to see more individuals unknown filling these rolls because this actor brought the Enigma along with fear.
This is SUPERBLY made! Big congrats to this team, you really put something brilliant together here, I hope to see more of the same XD

"Batgirl Rises" is a 40-minute short film from half a year ago and it written and directed by Vincent Tran and Riyaana Hartley.
Harley was a good actress. She could actually hold her own in Hollywood. She acted like a real life Harley even if she didn't quite look the part. She killed it though.

In the 1966 Batman tv series, Batgirl/Barbara Gordon had short hair, and unlike Batgirl in the Batman movie played by Alicia Silverstone, Barbara is Commisioner Gordon's daughter here, as she was in the 1966 tv series. Batgirl almost had her own spinoff from the 1966 series, starring Yvonne Craig as Batgirl. I've seen the Batgirl pilot on RUclips but I don't have the link at the moment. I think it would be worth searching for and watching. Enjoy!
The scene where she's in a bare knuckle fistfight and knocks down the two guys seems implausible unless she's holding a roll of quarters in each hand ....

THIS IS AMAZING
The librarian (Harleen) looks like a cross between Nicole Kidman and Joker. But when she speaks, she sounds like Lucifer's shrink. As the movie progressed she looked more like Kim Basinger. The woman playing as Barbara Gordon reminds me of a cross between Gotham's Catgirl and Emma Watson. Crazy right?!

Good start, the actresses are both pretty good (especially Harleen Quinzel--her accent was spot on), the action was good and not too jumpy, the Riddler was one of the best actor--but some of the lighting in the Riddler scene didn't make sense. In one scene, light shines down on Babs' face, then in another light comes in from th side across the Riddler's face. Also, personally I felt the talk between Hugo and Harleen was a bit long (also, what's up with Ivy's voice?), and how could Harleen recover from Barbara knocking her out so fast? Babs didn't even check to see if Harleen still had a pulse--Babs could've killed Harleen. I also love the voice actor for Joker. He sounds very good.
Whether one loved or hated this film, and there seems to be an equal amount of each end of the respective spectrum, as far as the upvoting is concerned; one must certainly wonder why the more recent comments don't reflect the current state of modern media, especially from those who agree with the entire premise of this creation which wholly fulfilled its mission statement while not giving the audience the slightest clue it was doing so within every scene. Even more 'riddling' are the sheer lack of comments (typed text, not upvotes) since this film's release 4 years ago this May. Where does RUclips 'hide' gems like this for that period of time. More importantly, and on many levels: Why?

i hate when people make fan films that are "hyper realistic" like the dark knight, while it worked for the the dark knight superheroes are not meant to be like that. for a great batgirl fan film watch batgirl: spoiled (its about stephanie brown batgirl though, but still amazing)

Really great fan film! I think the cast was fine, and have no problem with how Ivy's voice was done. I really like the thriller/horror aspect of the film, and a really good interpretation of what batgirl's origin could have been like. I feel like if you guys had a bigger budget and the film was longer the characters and story could have been expressed better, but other than that for a fan film this was really great in my opinion!
Something I don't get is how does Harley just lose her glasses once she became Harley Quinn like she needs them to see
+The Gamer's I think they chalked it up to some kind of mental block she had made her think she needed glasses and so when she is Harley she loses that mental block because well she loses her mind haha
This was quite good, but it needed another 30 to 40 minutes to see more evolution of the characters and plot. Beyond that, the characters were believable in their roles.
The cinematography and sets were also well within the dark atmosphere of the city of Gotham.
I would like to see more of this cast in future projects.

It is another full length production that is quite superb.
Heath Ledger would have been proud of the actor, whom I believe very likely studied Ledger's Joker to pull off such a great performance. This guy is so believable that you can leap directly into Ledger's Joker without skipping a beat.
I found it rather entertaining... I admit that it wasn't the best, but any movie with dc or marvel characters is worth the watch 👍👍👌

I liked this piece a lot. The Harleen actress did really well. I felt like the acting was very good. I felt a little like the directing could be slightly better, always very zoomed in on their faces. However the biggest turn off for this short film is the voice of Poison Ivy. Is there a specific reason why she sounds like that??? It just doesn't fit the character imo. Also the ending was a bit odd. I was hoping to see more Joker but I suppose this is about Batgirl not Harley and Joker.

It was only after that epilogue I noticed all the fleshed out main characters were women and the background secondary characters were men!

This movie was a lot better than many of the comments would indicate, with great potential, even if there were flaws.
The concept was unique, the cinematography was good for the seemingly small budget, the direction was solid, and the performances from Rico Ross, Constance Brenneman, Lindsay Heath were compelling. I especially enjoyed the attitude Ross brought to Riddler. The pairing of Harleen and Barbara Gordon was a cool idea, and gave them both an opportunity to demonstrate a sympathy and understanding that could pay off in a sequel, especially given the ending.
On the other side, I think the pacing was a bit rushed and some plot points could have been better explained. For example, why did Strange experiment on James? Why was James trying to kidnap Barbara - was it the mind control? Why did Barbara have more influence/access to Arkham than James? More detail like that would help smooth out some plot holes and give a chance for a more in depth exploration of the scenario.
So, yeah, it wasn't perfect. But you all put out a strong effort that could be a great platform that could be built upon to create a feature film on Batgirl and Harley.
