The most canon thing to the Burton films is how Batman can't turn his head - love it! Music was amazing, original, but a faithful homage. Production values through the roof, fabulous!!
Wasn,t sure how to gauge that, suspension of noticing the obvious? Is it supposed to be that way in the movie continuity because Batman makes them so, or rather that the WB studio designers thought it best this way? A case of viewers seeing the obvious though assuming Batman CAN turn his head but that Michael Keaton (or a stuntman) can,t. A continuity flaw between the fiction & reality? It,s just really stupid amateurish attempt on Bruce Wayne,s part, him knowing it would be a detrimental, potentially fatal tactical mistake when in combat? WB costume design studio should've done better, I think, such a stupid mistake. Batman would get clobbered & killed eventually in that sense.😮😢.
@@walterszewczyk9024 I always like Kaeaton's suit for that, when he 'd throw back hands it's like he had a 6th sense, honed skills call it what you may, made him a more alluring and mysterious Batman than Bale.
Christ who did the sound for this? The sound is next level. Great short film overall. But wow the sound design! Even just the cop drinking, rain falling, etc. All expertly mixed. Somebody give the sound guy a goddamn raise.
Love how Bruce paid for his wife's medical bills. actually showing the nuance of batman with him solving the problem and preventing the cop from needing to turn to crooked behavior to provide for his family. something most batman media forgets to express or include. id watcha whole 2 hour movie by these guys
Exactly. Bruce Wayne is essential to solve the problems Batman can't. Batman fights the practical implications and prevents the direct consequences of evildoing (apprehending criminals and conserving evidence of crimes, and directly protecting human lives by preventing further crimes from being committed by desperate people choked from the chance to choose a better life), while Wayne fights the roots of the problems (through philanthropy, social housing, helping expose corrupt economic groups, taking over companies manages by seedy bureaucrats, and providing financial support to groundbreaking technology and medical facilities)
But . . . the sergeant DID take the money, and as such exhibited crooked behavior. He made the wrong choice, as Batman later admonishes him. If he hadn't taken the bribe, and the gangster started to rough him up (while possibly also verbally threatening his wife, which would have shown him to be even more dangerous since he did his homework on the sergeant), THEN Batman intervenes and takes the gangster down . . . and then perhaps Batman makes a brief comment that Gordon is not the only good cop on the force before grappling away . . . Such a small change would have heightened the dramatic tension, given a more imperative impetus for Batman to get involved . . . and it would have shown another bright spot of hope within the GCPD. Then, when the sergeant later receives the check from the Wayne Foundation, it would make it more seem that he earned it by turning away from being crooked - and was rewarded by Gotham's dark knight (in two ways). The only other thing was the newspaper article regarding the organized crime task force. It says that it is currently being assembled, while at the end of the same paragraph it says that this team is "proving to be a formidable force." How is this possible if it is still being formed? I had to read it a few times to see if I missed any nuance about it, but no, it doesn't make sense in full context. Those things aside, I appreciated the attention to detail in the sets used, the tributes to lines and action from the 1989 film, and the general tone. A lot was packed in there!
Excellent addition to the '89 franchise. I wish that WB would give Kaotica Studios the millions of dollars needed to make a full length feature film. As long as they let you make the film that you wanted, and they kept their noses out of it, you would make them a ton of money. All the while creating a Batman masterpiece. Great job here.
I consider this cannon with the Burton films. In less than 20 minutes, you made a better addition to that universe than Joel Schumacher did with two feature-length films (even if I do still love Forever). Seriously, fantastic job. You should be beyond proud
The Schumacher films were purposely made to be polar opposite to the universe created by the Keaton films. Hence why he was chosen as a replacement to Burton.

Wow this was really inspiring. It's obvious the cast and crew cared about their craft, and it goes a lot harder than you would expect a fan film to go. Also the music deserves its own props.
@@KaoticaStudios Yeah awesome - the Batman really captured the physicality of Keaton's batman. It's excellent. I like that you capture the white smoke. But you missed the red-green. Batman's eyes are green. You could sample the red Axis chemical from that movie and when Frank looks up, he sees that on the rooftop. Another nice touch would have been a rose in a vase on the kitchen table for red and green. Frank is fighting his own battle of duality. It's a nice touch that Frank is not a hero. At end he has the reputation. But still this is excellent. Burton uses black and white as well as red and green motifs. In fact, prices song even says it "Black and white. Red and green. The funky as thing you've ever seen ..." If you do part 2, what would be nice is to see Frank actual get shot to save commissioner Gordon's life. He doesn't die -- but this time he's not leading and living a lie. He is a hero. When he is in the hospital bed, he reads story about Gotham's Frank ... who almost lost his life in heroic act to save commissioner's life. The by line is Knox. Then cut to the same paper on a breakfast tray Alfred carries to Bruce. Alfred says ... Master Wayne I brought your breakfast and today's paper. I think you will appreciate the front page story. I guess one man really can be a symbol and make a difference. (Bit of Nolan's take.) Bruce, "Yeah Alfred ... Oh did did you ever give Knox a grant?" (A homage to first movie where Bruce said give Knox a grant - lol).
What is nice about a project like this, is that you can see a lot of potencial and you see some things that can be tweaked, perfected and enhanced, but that is the beauty of it: it already is very nice, but hopefully we will see an evolution in the future!
Definitely captured a nice amount of both Batman's and Burton's nature! Dope camera angles, lightning, and the overall vibe of the alleys. I hope to see more fan-made Batman films like this! 💯💯💯💯

Thoroughly enjoyed it. For me, the best callback was the backhand smash to the face at 9:18. A great flashback to 1989. To quote Batman, "I'll be watching." 😁

I even "Liked" again but unfortunately the likes only count once otherwise every time as I am watching I would keep liking to give this video as many hits as possible. Excellent work done on this fantastic Batman fan film. A fan film masterpiece.
The oath to always remain true to the source material and present Batman as the watchful protector he truly is. I stumbled upon this short fan film and my goodness it was well presented. The same gothic style Gotham, the gloomy harrowing setting of a crime infested city, corrupt law enforcers and lastly the dark alleyways,a grim reminder of the tragic incident that took Bruce's parents from him, everything is shown meticulously. You gave us more than what we could have asked for. Great job guys.

I loved it. It took me back to my first Batman movie with Michael Keaton. It was like being in the theater with my dad and my little brother eating popcorn and drinking soda and loving every minute of it. Great work!
One of the best Batman FanFilms I have seen. It really captured the atmosphere of the Tim Burton original perfectly. I wish more superhero movies were made in this style. The Batman (2022) got close, I liked the gritty realism of it. The Tim Burton version was timeless. It could have been set in the 1930's, 1950's or the 1980's. The technology seemed all over the place, like futuristic Sci-Fi movies made in the 1930's to 1970's, trying to imagine what the world would be like today and getting it wonderfully wrong.
Honestly, this is the best cinematography I have seen for a long while. The noir feeling, cuts, acting, all go hand in hand ❤ Gratz! We should definitely see your work on the widescreen!

I love the attention to detail in recreating the aesthetics and atmosphere of the 1989 movie. It even connects directly to events hinted at taking place just before the opening scenes of that movie. As a life-long fan of Batman '89, this was a treat.
That was excellent! It captured the gothic vibe of Burton’s first film, where Batman is an almost mythical creature to be feared by criminals , while also showing the good Batman/Bruce Wayne can do for the right people.
This is REALLY well done! Congrats! Only thing I'd point out as something that could've been worked out better is the scene where Batman says "There's always a choice" then leaves, then comes back for the money, then drops the smoke bomb (to emulate one of the scenes in '89). Like, the whole comeback stuff, plus dropping the smoke bomb for one single cop who posed no threat -nor was the Batman cornered (which is what happened in the original film), was like a bit of overkill, imho. Other than that, superb fan film, and calls for a series!
Wow, you nailed it, and all those Easter eggs, the fashion magazine.. I would like to add this somehow to the movie I have on my hard disc. Now we got way more detail what happened to Johnny Gobs lol
I just came across this ,very well done short film based on Tim Burton's Batman. Please keep making more of these well done films. I still have that same smile on my face whenI went to the premiere in 1989, and this gives me those same feelings again.

Wow this was really inspiring. It's obvious the cast and crew cared about their craft, and it goes a lot harder than you would expect a fan film to go. Also the music deserves its own props.
Thank you! Leave us a rating/review on IMDB and check out our Behind the Scenes videos that show what went into The Oath! Thanks!
The funky as thing you've ever seen ..."
If you do part 2, what would be nice is to see Frank actual get shot to save commissioner Gordon's life.
(Bit of Nolan's take.)
Bruce, "Yeah Alfred ...

It is exactly what it is if there IS sin in the mix.
Imagine what it is to forcibly sober, nourish & hydrate the deranged & sane alike just to make the difference indeed. Known as vegan nowadays. Will be forever more too. Law or no law. Justice or injustice..
The camera work, the art direction, the lighting were so excellent.

Probably the best Tim Burton-esque fan film I've seen in a very long time. The Suspense was real, the throwback scenes to the 89 film, the acting, everything. Spot on. New sub. Keep 'em comin'!

I loved how this was less about stopping the villain and more about "sending a message" (pun was and not intended). There's always a choice. Always
WOW...love the story and everything about it. Thank you for the love and dedication that went into making this.
Just watched your film, and it's the best Batman film i've seen in a long while. Thank you for not making it all Batman. I mean it's great to see how a normal cop is affected by the existence of the bat. And the actor in the lead role is terrific! Great music! More of this character in a sequel, please!
This is INSANE. Great opening. The music at the intro is amazing!

Phenomenal fan film, I'm a massive Batman fan & you done the character justice.
I really didnt care for it until Batman said "there's always another way." I realized the message then, and how the movie would end. Well done.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.
For me, the best callback was the backhand smash to the face at 9:18. A great flashback to 1989.
To quote Batman, "I'll be watching." 😁

Watched this one year ago and came back to watch again. This film gets better with every viewing. I even "Liked" again but unfortunately the likes only count once otherwise every time as I am watching I would keep liking to give this video as many hits as possible. Excellent work done on this fantastic Batman fan film. A fan film masterpiece.

What a great short story! Thank you
The oath to always remain true to the source material and present Batman as the watchful protector he truly is.

Absolutely amazing and being a huge fan of the Michael Keaton films, I'm impressed. I would love more of this cast in future stories and it a MUST! Will promote the hell out of this. Special cheers to the crew - you were amazing!! Thank you!!

@@KaoticaStudios thank you for this short movie, it really felt like Batman 89 all over again, one point though Batman's voice sounded like the Nolan trilogy which is a bit distracting but other than that great job with the movie.
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍😁
Thank You So Much 4 This Film.
Man! This was PERFECT!!! The 1989 film is my favorite one. So I absolutely loved this one. THANK YOU!
Not what I was expecting but that's a good thing. Focus on a GCPD officer was a nice twist and was great seeing Batman save the cop from going bad.
This looks exactly like the Burton films, pretty amazing work. Shows how much talent exists outside Hollywood. With proper funding and the rights you could make a great movie.

I like how Batman is kept in the shadows so we never see his face
A respectable effort to replicate the style of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman.
"There's always a choice...". Even without a check from a billionaire...

That's where I knew that Criminal's Name from! Haha Fantastic!
The actor who played Batman *SERIOUSLY* channeled Keaton's movements. Bravo.
That was excellent! It captured the gothic vibe of Burton’s first film, where Batman is an almost mythical creature to be feared by criminals , while also showing the good Batman/Bruce Wayne can do for the right people.

The talkative cop at the beginning could play a heath ledger esque joker.
freaking Keaton bat, hell yeah!!! This was awesome!
Everyone's a critic. Let's see your film.
Wow, you nailed it, and all those Easter eggs, the fashion magazine.. I would like to add this somehow to the movie I have on my hard disc. Now we got way more detail what happened to Johnny Gobs lol
