I agree with you Omar. He is the worlds Greatest Modern Detective. Personally I would say he and Sherllock are preety equal to there eras. I own a few copies of Detective 572. One of the Greatest covers.

The latest matte paper… while I will say it holds the colors well and helps the omnis lay over nicely, I’d much prefer the old thicker pages. It’s a solid reprint if you don’t mind the step down in paper stock. Thanks Omar!

Hi Omar,
Just started watching your channel this year and I love it. You guys are great. I have read comics my whole life on and off through the seventies and eighties and became a serious collector from about 88 through to 2000 having to give up due to going from just a few marvel titles to both marvel and DC Image Dark Horse and indie companies, working at a comic shop from 94 to 2000 didn’t help either with t-shirts and action figures lol. I got to the point of spending $ 300 plus a week and fell 3 years behind in reading so I quit.
Bought traded and epics here and there but nothing too extravagant. Till this past weekend. My wife and daughter sent me out for my birthday and Xmas gifts.
I was going to get AVX but that was $325 in store so I said nope. Then I remembered your over view here and your mapping for this book and I have the Snyder books leading up to this so Batman Eternal is my first Omni and it’s all due to you and your channel. I also watched your Deadly Duo overview and bought that also, Marc Silversti is awesome . I also bought the X-Men Proteus Epic as well.
Thank you for your great channel and passion for comics and helping me get back into them. It may not be my last Omni🙏😁

I was holding out on the dceased deluxe edition on hopes of an omnibus with glossy paper. But if they use that more matte paper now I'll just get the deluxes.

Man. I liked this story, but it went on for sooooo long. The art shifts were also a problem. Like, any issue with Fabok was fine, but he definitely wasn't doing 52 issues straight.
I recollect every Batman villain is in here. Joker is hiding in the story--he's there, but you have to know where.

I'm just so unbelievably disappointed that this is printed on matte paper when the last one had nice thick glossy pages. They should have reduced the price because you know it cost them a lot less to produce. I'm not opposed to the idea of matte in an omnibus but only when the original stories were printed on matte paper as it retains that authenticity and the original colors. Definitely not the case here.

Same thing happened with Super Sons. The new edition uses matte pages, but the earlier edition had gloss (but didn't have all the issues). I considered keeping my old edition because it looks and feels so much nicer. But ultimately decided to keep the new edition because I wanted everything in one volume and didn't have space for both on my shelf.
I know printing costs have gone up a lot, but for $150 msrp we should get a high quality product.

Absolutely. I skipped out on the newest edition simply because of money at the time and all of the releases around it and now knowing that it had matte pages I feel better about missing it.

Is the original printing paper, glossy? Because the reprint paper is matte paper. Omar forgot to mention about it on this video.
