Def Leppard’s first three albums: On Through the Night, High N’ Dry and Pyromania are pure gems. Amazing aggressive rock, great production and unbelievable melody.
Couldn't agree with you more. The ON THROUGH THE NIGHT is my number overall choice.of the top 3 aforementioned albums. Funny though, after seeing them in concert, they never played one song from that album. Its a powerful album from start to finish. Rock Brigade is an Awesome song!!
I completely agree with that. Pyromania was my introduction to Def Leppard in grade school. Then Hysteria in High School, then I picked up High n'Dry on cassette lol. Then through their Greatest Hits double cd sets I started getting into On Through the Night. The first 4 to me were the best.
Goddamn I love this song. Imagine if Def Leppard continued writing songs like this. They would be in the same realm as AC/DC as the greatest of all time
Caught Def Lep in early '83 and they absolutely owned that stage. My first concert spoiled me rotten! and they were the opening act for Billy Squire. Tough act to follow for sure.
@@ponzo1967 That's Awesome! I first saw DL in 1980 as they were the opening band for, Pat Travers Band. Since that night, I was hooked. Also, when I did see them again in, '81, again DL was the opening band for, Black Foot, but I didn't go for Black Foot, I went for DL!!! 😁

On through the night. "Wasted" the main riff. And high N dry. The whole album basically inspired me to really start practicing. I thought Steve and Pete were the dynamic duo come to life. My first band 15 yrs old.., we had the other gtr player's parents beach house for a weekend and 'On through the night' was playing non stop. Still one of my fondest memories to this day and im 57 now with many other experiences and memories. The adrenaline we all got off their music was, for 5 15 year olds ...first band, the excitement was unmatched and no parents to tamp it down lol We played about 6 DL covers. Their first 2 albums were great. Pyromania had it's moments but gave up on them totally after that. American, soulless and tedious radio friendly slush.
