Def Leppard’s first three albums: On Through the Night, High N’ Dry and Pyromania are pure gems. Amazing aggressive rock, great production and unbelievable melody.

Thank you to put pyro too in that list. I can't understand people don't putting pyromania as an amazing album too.

Agreed. I like "Hysteria" a lot but I agree that is when they sort of hit a different sound from just pure rock.

Couldn't agree with you more. The ON THROUGH THE NIGHT is my number overall choice.of the top 3 aforementioned albums. Funny though, after seeing them in concert, they never played one song from that album. Its a powerful album from start to finish. Rock Brigade is an Awesome song!!

I completely agree with that. Pyromania was my introduction to Def Leppard in grade school. Then Hysteria in High School, then I picked up High n'Dry on cassette lol. Then through their Greatest Hits double cd sets I started getting into On Through the Night. The first 4 to me were the best.

On through the night. "Wasted" the main riff. And high N dry. The whole album basically inspired me to really start practicing. I thought Steve and Pete were the dynamic duo come to life. My first band 15 yrs old.., we had the other gtr player's parents beach house for a weekend and 'On through the night' was playing non stop. Still one of my fondest memories to this day and im 57 now with many other experiences and memories. The adrenaline we all got off their music was, for 5 15 year olds ...first band, the excitement was unmatched and no parents to tamp it down lol
We played about 6 DL covers. Made me get serious about playing so they actually changed my life. The older albums pyro on was for the radio. Nothing like the first ever and I'd say about half of pyromamia. 'Mirror Miror. Sorry for the novel 🙄
Thank you for your service Marine.

    Until I met you girl
A girl like you I have never seen
You came into my life like a whirlwind girl
You let me know what loving really means
    [Chorus]
Lady strange, oh lady strange I want you
Lady strange, oh lady strange I need you
    [Verse 2]
You got me where you want me girl
    So no messing around
You know I never played that hard to please
I've been here many times before
    And walked this sacred ground
But this time you got me on my knees
    You got me
    [Chorus] [x2]
    [Verse 3]
    Oh you're so strange
    Oh oh oh
Taking love from you's like taking candy from a baby

And the intro solo is dual intro...I know the lick but who?... Steve or Pete . Both? Guitarists and vocalists are appearing and disappearing in this vid. And I'm not smoking anything . Anybody explain this.? Tony Kenning .. Rick Allen.. The Thin Lizzy connection happening. Got this tune from On Thru The Night cassette ..in 1981 or so.. knew about Pete's contributions and problems. 76-82?
Been to 4 tours ..Vivian last time around. Was in Denver at the Pour Some Sugar on Me video shoot. The guys played it three times in the staff in the round for the video

'tis a pity that they turned into a pretty boy, hair metal band.

You can tell Clark was influenced by Jimmy Page.

Not many videos with Pete Willis. I never liked Phil Collen.

First 2 albums are great. Pyromania had it's moments. Anything after that, just not interested. American radio friendly crap.

100% agree. Although, that album Slang had some interesting stuff on it...very experimental? Different.

Never checked it out Dan. Heard enough of their output after Pyromania to well and truly put me off and just ignored them from then onwards. Not my bag at all.

@@bloodboughtbigphilr8266 There was a song on there called 'Work It Out' that was really cool, un-Leppard like. It was the first song Viv Campbell wrote since joining the band and Im a huge Viv fan, so I do like that song.

Because it was written by Viv and being Irish and a big fan of his former bands Sweet Savage and Dio , I think I'll give it a go Dan and let you know my thoughts.

Thanks for uploading! If you have a minute, we posted an Eddie Van Halen tribute video. As fellow music lovers, we'd love if you'd take a listen. It's on our channel. Don't go too hard on us :)

Phil is a good player but it really took away the raw energy that hooked us all with the first 2 albums.... with pete and steve's work.
