·I was a Su7 critic because I thought its looks lacked originality. Last weekend I tried Su7 in Shenzhen, China, and took it for a spin. It was crazy. It's a 16-foot-long car and drives like a BMW M5 F90 but with a Mazda Miata size. I know, weird combo, but that's how sexy it drives. Fully convinced as a skeptic. The only thing stopping me from buying was the fact that I cannot own a car in China as a non-local
One of my goals in 2025 is to introduce more people "across the pond" to this channel. Information is power, and the folks over at Telescope are crushing it regarding relevant, up-to-date, frequent, and entertaining, albeit always professional, NEV coverage.

The YU7 is fantastic looking. I think Xiaomi now have two of the best looking EVs in the world. Your comment at the end, what happened with you and Huawei?
If someone posts a negative comment about a Huawei-related vehicle, Huawei's PR department will do everything in its power to delete the comment and try to ban the account that posted it or even sue the reviewer. Regardless of whether or not the negative comment is pertinent. Sounds very ridiculous, right? But that's what Huawei is doing to all reviewers. They don't allow any neative comment exists on the internet. Sean has no grudge against Huawei, he just doesn't want his account get banned.
Basically Huawei sued some other reviewer because he said some critisism reviews ( with concrete evidence ) and called the reviewer "dishonest and sell-out". So a lot of reviewers are now keeping their mouth shut because Huawei can't take critisism
Where some EVs require additional accessories for charging, the bZ4X comes equipped with a dual-voltage charging cable, allowing you to charge on standard 120V outlets or upgrade to 240V for faster charging at home.
Do you have any insight on how/when Xiaomi can produce the YU7? Do they build a new factory for it or just make them in the same one as XU7? I'm still dreaming of them making it to NZ some day
Agree that the YU7 looks like the Purosangue, some DBX and with McLaren headlights. It has a better stance than the SU7 Ultra. Looking forward to YU7 Ultra, and a sub 7 min Nürburgring lap.
I've seen the Tesla Model Y and a few Chinese EVs of different brands in person. Tesla doesn't stand a chance against them. Not in design, not in technology, and definitely not in build quality.
Anyone saying MI copied the Puurosague, check out the Toyota crown sport that was release July 2022. And moreover, there ain’t anything that hasn’t been before…
Brother, thanks for the insights about the ET5/ES6/EC6 facelift coming up in 2025. I found no info about it elsewhere. Hopefully we will get more details this Satur(NIO)day. Will you join locally?
There are only so many ways to shape an aero-optimized vehicle that passes crash safety tests and has good pedestrian protection, while also maximizing interior space. While Xiaomi has definitely copied ICE car proportions with the long hood, the other parts of the shape are arguably quite generic and have been copied by others already (see Toyota Crown Sport).
Go, China! “Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, does an incredible job like the Chinese - total genius, absolutely tremendous - better than anybody else, believe me!“
Yes, a handful of Chinese car reviewers have had their accounts banned for "spreading misinformation" due to corporate complaint towards social platforms, while all they did was releasing a review on a Huawei-related car that contains negative yet fair opinions. That comment is more aimed at that issue rather than issues related to US's ban on Huawei.
There's an online joke that says "would you complaint if your girlfriend looks like (insert-the-name-of-your-dream-actress-or-model-or-idol) even though you know she is not her"?
@gadgetgasspoll A whole lot cheaper and probably better built, more high tech obviously and maybe even drives better as well. Most cars copied one another. Even your beloved and iconic VW Beetle. Copied Tatra97 and got sued.
It really looks too much similar to the Ferrari. Wish the YU7 is a bit more distintive. At least show that Xiaomi spends some efforts in trying to be distinctive if not superior.

It’s funny how everyone has been mocking Ferrari for copying Mazda MX-30😂 Looks how quick the tide has turned, all of a sudden everyone forgot about it and accusing xiaomi copying the design of purosangue. What an irony😅 If we are giving credit, we should give it to Mazda, not copycat Ferrari😅

If I can get a Purosangue-like eletric SUV for 1/20 of its price, as powerful, as sexy, much much more smarter, then HELL YES, I'M ALL IN!
Given the eminent launch of SU7 Ultra, the eventual YU7 Ultra is actually gonna be even MORE powerful than the Purosangue!
One hilarious thing is, opting for a panoramic roof for Purosangue costs 240k rmb, which is enough to buy a YU7 car.
