The YU7 is practical enough for me. Has a bit of Genesis and Porsche about it. Who cares how practical it is. I'll take one. Its beautiful
It will be practical, 5 meter length is long enough to have head room.
小米明年会推出suv车型
Yeah, we can double the price for Europe, import tax + VAT.
We really get taxed to being poor so we can afford the war and the benefits
@@SzaszaG1 Even if EU impose 100% tax, the SU7 and YU7 will still cost less than the equivalent Porsche Taycan or Ferrari Puresangue, or Maserati Levante.
@@petrushka2 I don't think those are Xiaomi's direct rivals. No one cross shops a Porsche, Ferrari and a Xiaomi. Not yet at least. So I don't think you should compare the prices to those. I think it's rivals are Tesla, BYD maybe BMW or Audi evs
Looks better than the Tesla bubble cars we see over and over again daily in California.
Under the Skin the TESLA Is far Superior!
Bubble is the most aerodynamic shape.
More importantly the superior interior design: Tesla interior is trash, my 2023 tsla MX still feels like it was leaking air (cold!) in winter.
Tesla's priority is efficiency, hence shape.
The thing a lot of people don’t get about tesla is the technology that makes all the difference, over the air updates, etc not saying that the Chinese can’t match that but looking from here the USA market place just doesn’t seem to have it here.
Am so happy that UAE bringing every chinese cars possible! Soon i'm gettin the Denza z9 gt... 🙏🏻
nice car
Exactly! I once saw the SU7 in Dubai, and it really looks amazing in reality. Can’t wait to see Xiaomi’s showrooms in the UAE. I would definitely get the YU7 then

800 km range is the bar to beat now in China, if your new car model can’t beat it, it’s considered lackluster

Most rich people stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then most poor people stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich but impressing them. People prefer to spend money on liabilities, Rather than investing in assets and be very profitable
You are so correct! Save, invest and spend for necessities and a few small luxuries relatives to one's total assets ratio
Many still bash Chinese cars but those people are clueless. I suspect legacy makers will be trying to seek a partnership with a Chinese manufacturer for sale in USA/Canada at this point. Protectionism only goes so far, eventually you need to admit defeat.
Ford is lobbying to have CATL factory opened in Michigan, Trump apparently wanted this too. Their LFP EV batteries are Chinese tech, despite the composition was initially invented by US. Its Chinese partner is Changan, which made Mazda EZ6 and luxury EV brand Deepal.
GM is the largest foreign maker in China besides VW. Both of them are joined by SAIC, the biggest of all Chinese car makers, who also owned brands like MG, and has design studios and engineering centres in Europe. SAIC and GM also has joint venture brand called Wuling, which is quite a competitor in Asia.
Stellantis (Chrysler) has their own way, they decided to buy a random company called Leapmotor and owned 60% of their global operations.

Good quality products, affordable prices
just out of curiosity from a china consumer, which xiaomi products are they selling in your country? and which country?

Do you mean the Mazda MX-30?
I've seen the Xiaomi cars and been inside one and they're just stunning. The price in China is so cheap too.
why has it not destroyed tesla sales then?
@@pranshukrishna5105 Because of their production capacity. They couldn't meet the demand for the car.
@@petrushka2 The car is cheaper and better in terms of features then Tesla. It's a matter of time
@@pranshukrishna5105 I'm not sure how your question relates to my statement, which wasn't comparing one to another. Also, Xiaomi released their first car this March/April and only planned to sell a limited amount to test the market. It's fair to say, that the market in China really digged it. Also, some Tesla's are cheaper than the Xiaomi cars.
Now my personal opinion. Tesla's cars don't even come close visually, the Xiaomi cars is a work of art. Tesla's are poor build quality, with gaps everywhere. There are so many cars that are better than Tesla in China, however the Chinese prefer brands and that's why Tesla is doing well. In 5 years, they won't exist in China
@@JohnWilliam-q9y They expect to sell 130k units this year. Their goal is to produce 400k units when their own factory starts production next year. Then the situation for Tesla may not be the same anymore. The Chinese do not prefer western cars anymore, except for Tesla, for example Mercedes sold 0 units.
Not only looks good, people buy because they are good inside out. Just look the reviews of Xiaomi Su7 Max, amazing good and unbeatable price globally.

the design looks so good, if Apple to re-join the competition again, bet it will lose the 2nd time.
Shortly after xiaomi su7 debut, Apple abandoned its 10 year car effort TItan, realizing although both are phone companies, it would never be able to do such a good job on EV as xiaomi did in just 3 years. The apple give-up was not short-term but permanent.
I think there are go back in to EV apple get a Chinese company to make car for them you need to be a mobile phone make to make good EV this is the same tech huawei make good car with the best tech in EV they make lot of technologie for EV in china

The YU7 sales will be wild even if it is a few grand more expensive than Model Y.
Agree, Tesla models are just junk in terms of interior.
The Chinese market is one third of world demand. The other major car making companies are split between America, Europe and Japan. Those countries account for half of total demand, but until recently, had almost all of the market. They can't compete with China on price, and if they wall off their own markets for domestic cars only, their customer base will shrink by 80% overnight instead of the 50% they have already lost to China. Chinese customers have stopped buying foreign cars from legacy makers, and the rest of the world will follow based on price. I don't see how many, if any, of the auto makers in America, Europe or Japan survive for another decade without massive government subsidies, and huge increases in both cost and price. At the same time, the rest of the world will enjoy newer technology and more advanced cars at a much lower price. Cars are the second most expensive purchase for most households. This will drag down the economies of the western world and put us even further behind Asia in renewable energy. What am I missing?
Ford and GM are just a tiny bit of our economy unlike Japan and Germany.
@@larryc1616 still scared the goverment enough to put 100% tariff.
Nailed it.
A massive trade war is coming- it will be China against everyone else. The West and Japan will double down on ICE & hybrids and play to their strengths.
@@larryc1616The auto industry apart from the manufacturers accounts for a significant amount of jobs. 2 million in auto and parts manufacturing alone
Great looking but heavy. You’re right, legacy auto won’t be able to regain even 1% of the lost ground
How much does it weigh?
Seems like Germans are lighter than TSLA? Actually only TSLA has lighter EVs. Others just NO. While Chinese EVs are miles ahead of overpriced rubbish Germans.
Hard to beat state sponsored dumping
It usually takes 100-150kg extra weight to go from a sedan to an suv. The yu 7 weighs 200kg more than the su 7. So some speculated that a battery much larger than 100 kwh was used.
Drove the SU7 in Shanghai. Was shockingly good. Especially in China where all the tech was designed to work. I'd say it's not an easy task to get everything working in Europe though, given the insane data protection requirements. That's the main reason full self driving will never happen here.
Did you get to test drive it directly from Xiaomi? Did you have to have a translated drivers license?
I really really hope the SU7 comes to Aus! I will defo jump on one if priced like the seal! Even 10k-20k more than the seal is a sweet deal!
The XiaoMi YU7 is a killer car. When I saw the rendering i bought some XIaomi stock. Beautiful colors, copying Porsche quite a bit (imitation is the most sincere form of praise). Xiaomi is a top 3 cellphone manufacturer, and as an EV is a cellphone on wheels, it was inevitable that a cellphone company would jump into the car biz, and do well. For a very first car their SU7 is quite good.
hope xiaomi will setup factory in thailand for RHD cars
DUDE - you arespitting out content like a champ - thanks!
Chinese cars are exactly like cool gadgets.
They keep coming and getting better by the weeks
One word….tariffs
It shows again a phone company can market a great computer on wheels.
Shows that Apple did fuck up and going to loose step by step their perceived lead in phones as well.
Crapple is nothing without their phones
The only mistake Apple made was thinking that they should move into the car industry to begin with.
@69memnon69 they're nothing but a dying phone company
Stunningly beautiful car. I would love to get my hands on one. I am due to change car late next year and prepared to wait for it to come to UK.
No service center nearby no deal.
People kept saying Xiaomi SU 7 looked like the Porsche panamera or taycan 🤦♂️.... until Xiaomi SU 7 was kept side by side next to each of these cars.
I like the look.
Xiaomi is known to discount their products in a big way to grab market share
So?
They are not discounting, they just make a very small margin, like 5% instead of say 50-60%. But I think for the cars they probably have negative margin.
All happening at the timeline I had shared with you long ago!
"I don't like using the phrase 'Game-changer'." LOL!
Thanks for the giggle!
Looks nice, but without a dealer network in EU they will have a hard start. Just shipping and dropping them in EU will not get them sold. And also remember that many buyers do not trust non-traditional carmakers. And yes, this may change completely in 5-10 years.
Xiaomi's advantage is that they are really good with software, something that BYD is not good at. And their advantage is also that everyone knows the brand. Exciting times...
I hope the SU7 comes to the US, but I’m not holding my breath!
If you voted Trump and hope the SU7 will be sold in the US, you’re delusional to the point of insanity.
Sure…with Donald Trump as president 😅
@@svenkrause4019 Don't forget that increasing tariffs is Mr. Trump's best skill.
I feel sorry for the US lead by leaders who dont think about their citizens. BYD is a car we have had in Australia for a while now and its practically banned in the US. After buying my BYD seal performance!!! Just wow and this car alone is amazing something i hope will come to Australia! You guys are missing out
Trump says no. You will buy American cars and be happy with it.😂
Appreciate the information ❤
Personally I dont have the balls to buy a car from a company that has zero track record of aftermarket support in the car industry.
If Chinese automotive manufacturers actually started to lead the way in wise innovation rather than improved copies there will be no stopping them from leading the industry
Jai Hind. More Indians are worried about the overcapacity of cheap Xiaomi EVs after experiencing how the stylist Xiaomi phones had flooded the market.
It only took Xiaomi around 3 years, starting from nothing to production of EV. Apple started a lot earlier on its Apple Car and wisely aborted its effort after Xiaomi debuted the SU7. All the legacy auto-makers should ask themselves why they could not do the same.
Can't compare Xiaomi Vs Apple...the china player is more innovative, but Apple has a big cash pile to stay sustainable.
It is a great looking vehicle.
These xiaomi cars look like Mazdas to me. This one like a raised modernized rx8
Mazda had given up on innovation, what a shame! They could be leading the current wave of EVs and replace legacy automakers.
Bigger wheels effectively change the gearing. This is not an issue if the car was engineered for the larger wheels from the factory, but it will slow down acceleration if you replace the wheels that a car comes with with bigger ones.
@Electric Viking pls confirm the YU7 will be sold outside China. Many articles say it's only going to be sold in China. thanks ! article title look it up: "Xiaomi YU7: new leaked SUV will be a Model Y rival - but so far it’s China-only" 12 December 2024
I don't particularly like SUVs, but the YU7, with those Purosanguesque looks, at the price you mention, it'd be really tempting.
If the Xiaomi SU7 was sold in Europe I would buy one over a Taycan any day as it would cost a lot less. The SU7 is obviously a Taycan copy with McLaren inspired lights which were pinched from the Eagle space ship in Space 1999 tv series.
I’m all in on XAI105x after seeing your analysis! This could be a game changer!
Love the YU7. I'm not a fan of SUV, but I'd consider that. SU7 crashes also found to small brake pads, big callipers but small pads.
The brakes are already fixed. The brake system is from Bosch and Brembo. There is also an race upgrade pads for 800 US Dollars
It also should have regenerating brakes
How i hope i can get it in Australia
Anybody know the cost of the electricity to power up the (alleged) range of these otherwise quite attractive milkfloats ?
It’s unbelievable value. YU7 looks great, better than a traycan which can always be recycled for other uses now, who needs them at their prices.
100% correct
Almost all EV OVER POWERED
The hp of super cars for regular drivers and the added weight of the batteries. There should be a limit. Lesser hp is not an issue. Too much hp IS AN ISSUE
Only for drivers of limited experience or Richard Hammond.
@paulc6766 i think.even drivers with enough experience of normal cars.will have issues if they are not aware of the power. U can see them in NEW DRIVERS of sports car. Im.sure the sports car is not their first vehicle
when do you think xiaomi will launch cars in australia?
It's not a matter of cars, it's a matter of economics and income. There are many things that could be made cheaper when sourced from overseas. What is at stake is not just cars, it's the economic income and jobs that are supported by this large scale manufacturing activity. Always remember, you cannot import unless you have the export income to pay for imports. Yes, due to prudent and targeted investment in the Auto sector, the Chinese have moved ahead in Battery Technology. They have done this with government targeted investment together with commercial innovation and technology from the west. It will challenge the idea that a government should let the free market reign and not guide commerce by picking winners with a plan for development. It is often said that if you fail to plan, you will plan to fail.
A porche is not practical, it's a brand and style purchase. So Xiaomi may have it right to separate itself from some pretty boring EV's out there.
The design 8:43 harkens back to early crossover days (early Infiniti FX35/45 vibes) but I like it!
❤❤Great analysis cobber.🙏🙏😘
Cheers, appreciate the support!
Yu7 looks great
Both are great. Most people don't need huge interior room.
That huge interior room is there to make room for the dog house between the two front seats.
Several EV makers have dispensed with the dog house, mostly because they Don't need it to cover up their use of a gas-engine platform for their EV.
Agree with Viking. Legacy ICE is either going to upgrade and transform their factories to EV or they will get knifed. California is also trending EV , and that's a giant market for the US. YU7 looks pretty damn tight. Great price as well. Stoked.
Xiaomi, founded in 2010, launched its first mobile phone a year later and became the best selling mobile phone brand in China in 2014, is now designing, manufacturing and selling competitive EVs. Apple plowed billions into their EV project for years and gave up, making Apple look decidedly and uncharacteristically beaten. Xiaomi and other Chinese brands have made huge and extremely rapid strides in competitive markets. This is a wake up call for top technology companies.
50% of Chinese car models have a 7 in their names. Must be a very lucky number.
Actually the #, 8 is the most prominent in chinese culture meaning wealth, prosperity, success and status; #7 and 9 are also lucky #'s.
So being born in 1977 means I could become king of China?!
In the naming process of Chinese car brands, the higher the number, the more luxurious the model tends to be. The number 7 is usually associated with mid-to-high-end models, while 9 represents the top-tier models. Brands like AITO, NIO, Li Auto, Xiaomi, XPeng, Fangchengbao, Denza, YangWang all follow a similar naming convention. Many brands tend to choose numbers between 6 and 8 for their main models, while reserving the number 9 for future top-tier models.
@@nathansmith6914 The Chinese got rid of royalty a long time ago. Britain should be next.
Good looking car. European car makers be worried, very worried.
Wow that's amazing 👏🤩
Why do you ever say why would anyone ever want more than mileage than 400/500miles . I have. To do trips that are 700 miles , and I would damn sure like a car that would go that far without a charge .
This car seems to be in the same space as the Luxeed R7. I prefer the Luxeed R7. It is more practical for a family.
@5:13 Why does it have a side-by-side charging plug arrangement?
Chinese market cars have a separate plug for AC and DC charging.
That YU7 has a slightly odd styling vibe for me. I like where they're going, but the stills still feel a bit clunky. The real question for me is what their secondary market plan is for these EVs. If the price is already so low, is the plan to give them away in the secondary market? If that's the case, there will absolutely be no market for new cars in the entry market in 5 years. Even with extraordinary import taxes in the U.S., these used Chinese EVs will be cheaper than anything in the market.
Looks real good. Rear end could be a bit sharper.
Would love to buy it, when it launches in India.
The Chinese are just Killing it ... what realy sucks is that in the US and Canada they put a 100 percent tariff on them if you could even get one here. BTW love the design.
This is car render “mockup” of ferrari suv… Its not even official pictures of YU7…
I feel like these estimate of ranges are quite deceiving. It might say 400miles but... we all know that battery packages say things but it ain't exactly the truth. Turn some things on, put a small item to tow, and it'll end up like 200 miles.
57 seconds to make a Xiaomi su7 and 30 seconds to make a Tesla? Say what?
I am on a 40 day tour of Asia right now. I finally had the opportunity to see these Chinese cars in person. I was shocked by the quality feel. Legacy auto makers are dead. I agree with the Viking; legacy auto makers will never catch up. I can't wait until these vehicles get to Spain so I can buy!!!
Loving SOL and XAI105x! Following your advice has made me $30K in profits. Super excited for the future of these projects!
Well I’d certainly take that over an Golf here
Especially with those crazy range and power numbers.
Yeah our legacy brands have problems.
Looks like it would be a good idea to buy a spare set of headlights.
Personally, I very much like the design of this car. Very sleek modern lines.
I missed something, Sam says it lacks practicality, but in what way? What makes it impractical? Maybe it’s unnecessarily large, I’m not sure. I do like the looks, however.
China has a localization rate of over 95% for the components used in its vehicles which are supplied oversea.
5 metre long I think lots of Aussie old garage don't fit😊
I have and currently own a number Xiaomi electronic devices, most of them are ok some of it junk but you know what lets down the products? The after sale customer and product support, and heading into 2025, this means everything. This is the biggest question of Xiaomi and other Chinese EVs makers and their vehicles in general, currently the after sales service is woeful and the bar is not very high either.
they really need to not mess up the brakes this time.
That brake you apparently referred to, was not meant for racing track; instead read its performance at the German race track.
Also the driver who made controlled crash in one due to brake failure experienced very serious safety issues - the Chair broke and the airbags did not deploy ⚰
I think your concerns are a bit unnecessary. Before the launch of the SU7, Xiaomi's sales target for the car in 2024 was 80,000 units. On the evening of March 29, 24 hours after the Xiaomi SU7's launch, the order volume surpassed 88,898 units,It sold out an entire year's worth of cars within 24 hours..However, the current order volume has reached 240,000 units, with an average waiting period of 5.3 months for owners. Therefore, there will be no supply outside of China in the short term, unless a new factory can be put into production.
The brake is working fine, it just people use it on track race which is what the brake not meant to be in the first place.
Xiaomi SU7 has a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.195
The reason why the YU7 looks the way it is I am sure is because it has a Cd of lower than 0.2
Low Cd will always give you good aerodynamics, speed, and energy efficiency.
I am sure it's the same for Tesla Model S, Ferrari Puresangue and F1 cars.
Both the SU7 and YU7 are well designed and engineered and they look very good too.
The potential of XAI105x is unreal! Excited to see where this goes after watching your video!
Beautiful designs, I’d have one
Bigger wheels? Blame Ferarri and Porsche, they established the style in which larger wheels are more sexy, and humongous large brake. I like large wheels too, knowing that its a drag on energy efficiency and ride comfort. 30 years ago the typical wheel size was 14-15 inches, now the standard is 17-18 inches.
Love the look . It looks like a Porsche or Audi . If it’s got a good mileage and decent power . I’d go for it .
They look good and their specs are great, but tbh I personally wouldn’t trust a new brand that’s rushing production, the risk of the battery igniting feels too high for me
Xiaomi is probably the most incredible company in the world, maybe with Huawei and Samsung.
Huawei and Samsung is clearly more high tech, but i buy a ton of xiaomi products instead cause i get 80 ~ 90% the quality for like 20% ~ 30% the price
I am a little reluctant to say but with styling like this they deserve to be successful .....Italy watch out
Hi Sam, you are estimating competition and branding is only based on price. This is not the case at all. So yes China will take lots of market share because of the quality /price they offer, but ask Toyota /Lexus or Hyundai /Genesis about how long it takes to build brand trust, and even longer for brand sex appeal. Porsche will stay, and if VW use price to compete they will suffer. But BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lamborghini, and Porsche don't compete on price.
Is that why they are losing market shares? Becausecthey have strong "brand". Brand is subjective. They are not apple that zombified their customers
In China some local large SUV PHEVs are with a 59kWh 800V 15-20min FC battery pack for a 200km WLTC range (eg. the new Tank 500 Hi4-Z) ..... who else in the world is proposing this ? 😁
LOVE THE LOOK❤❤❤❤❤❤
I don't think I've ever heard The Electric Viking use the word "Gamechanger" before.....
You're being a bit too nice and safe with your title. Should've been "Xiaomi's new YU7 SUV price revealed - legacy automakers are royally f-cked".

See what that did on the Nürnberg ring? 325km in the strait
Put this YU7 next to the Model Y and everyone's going to think they're in Comedy Central.
I currently drive a Bimmer X5, had a first-get Macan turbo. I'm a sucker for 3-box cars, hatches and SUVs. SUVs precisely for their practicality. Don't care for any sedans at all. So, definitely this YU7 is for me.
The question is the background, and service.. what happen if something happen with a car? The phone shop will change the mechanical parts? 😂 may this is a problem inside China also.. not just the export markets.
Since they’re making an SU7 and YU7, will there be a XU7, EU7? The first letter already corresponds to Tesla’s naming convention.
It's possible and that's good 😂
Nio ET9 is the king of the EV’s
NIO cars are nice but they’ll struggle with their business model I think. Too capital intensive and they simply don’t sell enough of their higher price vehicles to justify the battery swap infrastructures they are building.
@ yes Nio cars expensive they are not selling much . Nio cars are luxury cars
But they have two sub-brands car for mass-market onvo and firefly . They will change everything in one year
