Eric, you've nailed it with this 'driving range discussion' format. Aside from the great info, it's aesthetically pleasing to watch. You are getting better all the time.
As a golf fitness trainer, I totally agree with the stack and tilt. It really helps to minimize lower back pain and keeps your core engaged through your swing. There are a few nuances to the stack and tilt which can be helpful for the older golfer.
It's crazy how every time I notice a flaw in my swing there is a eric cogorno video uploaded straight to my feed that addresses it. Best golf instructor on youtube
Possibly my favorite series of golf tutourial vids I've seen on the Y-tube. The Tom & Eric collab is gold. Well done guys, and thanks so much for your very helpful content!
Much respect to you Eric for acknowledging how good stack and tilt can be for some people. I changed to it and it did change my golf life. Love to see videos like this. More instructors need to get out and explore other swings to help everyone they can.
Hi Eric started watching stack and tilt RUclips videos 8 weeks ago .I can't believe the difference it has made to my swing . Watch a bit of Toms stuff and it works .Been watching you'd stuff for r a couple off weeks very good explanation of solutions to faults in golf swing for amaturs. Michael in OZ
Two very good Golf Instructors that epitomize the old quote " if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life " Soo refreshing to see teaching pros remaining excited about what they do. Great post ⛳️
Eric a great video! I’ve had the good fortune to see Tom in person and get his help. I was about to quit golf due to neurological issues that had taken a toll on my ability to play the timing based slide and glide swing I’d had for 66 years. Having played as a single digit golfer for most of my life, it was hard to see those scores going up to the point of quitting. I’ll never overcome my ailments, but Tom has simplified my motion to mostly crispy and that I can live with and enjoy. Thanks Tom!
I am so glad you did this with Tom. I discovered his videos last year, and I tell people "stack and tilt changed my game in a day!" Since then I discovered your videos, and I'm delighted to see the two of you comparing notes and insights.
Eric Cogorno cured my slice. Not kidding. I was always decent but I was hitting weak fades and learned to play with that. Since watching some of his videos and buying his lessons I no longer hit slices or weak fades. I'm enjoying golf a lot more now. Thanks man!!
Very different video but truly enjoyable. It was effective because the viewer could see the difference for themselves between two very good swings. And having you two describe the principles of stack and tilt was informative. Really appreciate, Eric, that you continue to be open minded with other professionals about the different ways to approach swing improvement. Well done.
These recent videos have COMPLETELY changed my game. Practiced 1 hr leaning forward at address and 1st round shot 88 (normal high 90s low 100s player). Should have scored better 39 front nine but blew up on 3 water holes on back. CANNOT wait to get out there again
I've applied this approach for the last few weeks and it's been wonderful! I'm older (60 and female) and find it's easier on my body. My dad taught me how to play 50 years ago and it worked for me for a long time albeit with a natural slice my whole life. I find this method gives me a stronger, more compact swing with less moving parts to think about. I still hit my 7 iron 145 - 150 yards, but feel so much more in control with less effort.
I have been considering quitting golf again after the past few months. I've been playing for about 3 years over the summers and took a year off because I was so frustrated at poor ball contact. This week I completely forgot how to swing and kept topping the ball like when I first started. I randomly stumbled across this video and had never heard of this method. I went to my mat and net last night and started flushing crispy shots about 30 or so and again this morning, I maybe had 5 bad shots, which is very good for me. My typical game is I hit a good one every 4 or 5 balls. It's such a good feeling to hear that compression and pop and now I'm hitting every club in the bag. Thank you so much for this, it really is life changing as the title says! I can't wait to go play again. 🎉❤😁
@@CogornoGolf I can't tell you how happy I am. This is the best I've ever hit the ball. I took my new swing to the range, because mats are one thing and grass is the real test. My typical round out of 100 balls is 30 or 40 good hits but now the script is flipped, I hit around 75 good ones and was finally having fun! I am so thankful for you and Tom.
Have just watched this video, I am that golfer that is on the edge of quitting something I love to do. So went and put a few of the videos talking points in play and wow! Now I’m not thinking about shifting weight and just focusing on a good shoulder turn, the strike changed instantly. Great video guys
This is the issue I have. Too many gremlins in my head during my golf swing, just overthinking every step to get a good swing and before I know it I end topped, thinned or chunked the ball
Wow!!! I had used the connected golf swing feelings for years. I watched this video. I took the weight forward, belt line to belt line approach and hit to ball as solid as I have ever hit it with nearly zero practice. Pumped to start practicing this approach. Thank YOU!!!
After a couple of years wondering in the dark about my technique, i took some Pro lessons.. And boy, that made wonders! And the best part, my Pro never labeled the teqnicue used, but actually played of my strength and weaknesses. And i find that my newly built swing is very much like stack and tilt! Another friend of mine nails the more "classic" golf swing. I think people need to stop trying to put their swing in a certain box or style. We are all build differently, and you may be surprised to see that stack and tilt may just work for you. Or even somewhere in between. I really like that you guys talks about this and are open to every type of swings!
Appreciate the feedback and thoughts....agreed! Glad you are moving in the right direction. Lots of ways to do it...everyone is a bit different....like anything else there will be some fundamental things you see across the board
This is phenomenal. I started a pseudo stack and tilt and love it. So it’s grand that you both support my effort in a new and efficient swing. Cheers to you both
Tried this technique this morning during my round after watching this video. I’ve never hit so many crisp iron shots in my life! I’ve always struggled with inconsistency by having to pick it clean and usually pulling my shots left. Thanks for the great content.
That’s the thing about what Tom said about finding tips in a magazine. It’s sooo different now with online coaches, like Tom and Eric, who have different teaching approaches that really encapsulates a variety of learners. I remember reading article after article and getting confused and frustrated when it came time to practicing. Having more on-demand type learning plus a huge variety of coaches make a tremendous difference. I will say S&T has transformed my game. Tom and Eric, you both are fantastic instructors.
I was duped into stacking and tilt by Tom. I joined Saguto Golf, not knowing the system was stack and tilt. I have never been happier to have been duped. My golf has never been so good.
How does that activate your legs if all energy is stayed on one edge of the left foot?? Haha makes no sense. It makes sense that being in a final shift position creates accuracy and consistency, but you're easily losing power. That's why a half swing is way more consistent than a full swing. Full swing you're going at it! Also flexibility is a huge key for power and rotation. Smaller people won't need a true deep hip rotation. I see this working for some people but most people want that power; for the fun of the game.
This is a good explanation of how to digest instruction, from educated coaches. SaT is not for everyone in its entirety, but there are pieces that can help anyone. I don’t SaT per say, but a drill I work on is a 80-60-80 type feel for weight on front foot through swing(start-during-follow through). It keeps contact more consistent, prevent me getting too long with my backswing, and let’s me turn better.

Such a great video! I love coming back to this video as I found it last year and was ready to quit golf. Stack and tilt changed my life, and It can almost instantly improve anyones game in a body friendly way.
I bet this was the most altruistic thing on all of YT today. I share Toms experience in that when I discovered S&T it was like the game I had loved and been obsessed about for so long suddenly began to love me back a little more cincerely... off course, with S&T you still need to do it the right way and properly to succeed. But at least you got an honest chance - and yes, I've found it to work briiliant with the driver too (when done as prescribed) Thanks!! Martin hcp 5
thanks guys for bringing this back to life. i did this years ago and for some reason got away from it. then my game got so bad without, I've gone back, hitting much better, know what I need to work on too... I won't leave S&T again
Am with Tom - earlier in years of golf tuition was weight shift right too left, this is why there are so many who can't play the game or are bad at it - timing is the main factor, stack and tilt is the left foot (right handed golfer) being the main solid post of a spring gate! So like the gate, we have to open and close on a solid foundation thus being our left foot - If that left foot is not anchored/weak then the gate wont close properly neither will our golf swing!
YOU NAILED IT!!! At least for me, at 69 years of age, maximum swing effectiveness has come from a combination of S&T and the "conventional" method. I adopted S&T 's weight distribution recommendation, combined it with Moe Norman's grip, and the result has been a more solid and predictable game with a whoooooole lot less hip and back pain. Keep up the good work guys. Golf is not a one size fits all sport!
One day I was playing on my own at a par 3 course, trying to figure out how to be more consistent in my game. I started doing this, without realizing it was a thing. It has helped me play some of the most consistent golf I’ve ever played. I’m now able to keep up with buddies who’ve been playing for much longer than I have.
Good vid Eric. I am not a stack and tilt player either, but for the people who consistently shoot 85 and over................................stack and tilt would make golf so much more enjoyable them and probably lower their scores as well.
Highly recommend the weight forward technique. I use it on all my shots. Just get that weight on the left foot and watch it go. Shot my first sub 80 round with this technique this past weekend. Do it!
Good video...I know most people don't want to invest the money, but the S&T DVDs make it pretty clear that "weight forward" is a principle that can be applied by each golfer in the way that works best for them. The numbers are there in the videos to show this.
I tend to be a plus 40 golfer.. on 9 holes. Tonight I just focused on pointing the lead shoulder... plus 20. Best 9 holes of my life! There is hope for me to improve from abysmal to pretty bad by the end of summer!!
Hey ... the "exaggeration" on tilting was perfect to visualise! It's really helping... could you do a video to explain how does tilting applies when using the driver? Cheers
Glad to hear it! Less of the tilt with driver....you want to replace forward bend with side bend Since you are less bent over at setup with driver (compared to iron) your shoulders should naturally tilt less More details on driver vs. iron here! ruclips.net/video/TJtx-qVSgVU/видео.html
I love S&T. I played so much better when I devoted myself to that method. And Eric, even if you are not a certified S&T guy, I always felt like you were. You & Tom are both great teachers & I love those three guys at Golftec in Singapore.
After struggling for years with shooting in the 90s even with instructions I tried S&T and shot 86 and 82 in the last 2 rounds. I hope it is not a fluke. I hit the driver 20 yards longer and no more wild slices.
Stack and tilt has changed my game completely. Fortunately I never heard much about it prior to my first exposure to it and had no preconceived notions. Everyone is different and I don’t know if it works for everyone but I think it’s really worth a try based on my own experience.
Being a tennis player as a child, I have grown up being very comfortable moving into a ball on the full swing - it's just how my brain calculates power meeting impact. That said, and I can be brutally honest, I was a horrible chipper & pitcher of the ball because my low point control on these smaller shots didn't work. Stack & Tilt, the key being weight forward and Left shoulder down, is like an instruction manual from God on how to be a great pitcher & chipper - I'm a 100% convert using this technique around the green.
@@CogornoGolf The more I thought about Stack & Tilt after watching this video, the more it's obvious that the modern game is a progression from Long-Driving dynamics for the Driver and then moving towards Stack & Tilt for the short game. The only question is what is the distance & shot where you fully transition - likely the 50-yard low spinner pitch and 90% true at that 100-yard flighted wedge shot.
Man, I hope it's not a fluke, but I was keeping my weight forward and working on my tilt today at the range...total smoke show with my irons. I was missing greens all day Saturday and Sunday due to weak/missing irons from 140 to 190 that I was easily hitting with range balls today. It did help me to also not let my head drift back, and definitely not create the tilt by putting my weight back. Two-hour practice with no problem striking ball first & divot after the ball...it was just happening naturally. Driver improved too, but I was mostly working on my irons today. GREAT Video, thanks!
One more thing that I had to do (due to lack of flexibility in the hips) was move the ball slightly back in my stance, but after I did that it was a breakthrough session for me.
The more involved I'm with ST the tougher it is so much to learn, I some times get so involved with your teaching YOU make it look easy, we all no this is a very difficult game. I have tried hard ST the past six months with little success.
I discovered Stack & Tilt back in 2012, and it worked great for me. I find it amazing that today, 9 yrs later, this brilliant teaching system still has a bad reputation among the pro class. Can’t think of any reason for this, other than that it is so transformational it offends the old blue bloods whose careers are fully invested in inferior ideas. Glad to hear you guys agree S&T is good stuff.
Just tried S&T yesterday bc I was tired of poor contact. Instant success. And let's be honest, the random times I was hitting the ball well over the years was probably due to (unknowingly) using S&T.
Hey guys ,I'm an Senior golfer now ,I've been playing my entire life .love the game . Nvr taken a lesson ,I enjoy your teaching . I tried the head on the wall ,and I can't hardly even make a decent back swing , it hurt , lol . So I'm just saying
I’m sure most of the RUclips crowd is watching for some relief of years using a traditional swing. This swing method should be game changer for most amateurs.
I remember I was practicing on the range and a golf instructor started give me some advice. I told him I was doing stack and tilt, and he began to get visually upset. I just thought it was hilarious.
first time out with stack & tilt i shot 80, hit heaps of greens in reg but had an ordinary day with the putter. down from a 26 handicap to 17 real quickly
I do not believe setting up with 55% of your weight on that lead foot is a concern. I believe the concern comes with keeping the weight there throughout the backswing. This would undoubtably keep swing center steady and could result in consistent solid compression. There are many ways to strike a golfball. Moe taught us that. Great video guys. Thank you
Man I am no where as good as you or Tom, but I definitely feel what he said! I like to play golf, but doesn’t play too damn well lol. I always get upset at the course, sometimes I just want to quit. But I help this local golf organization, so I can’t quit ha. Today, I went to play, all I did was put the weights forward, hand towards my lead foot, half swing it, omg it was crisp. Maybe it was not KFC crisp, but Chinese friend chicken crisp. I didn’t have time to practice at range due to work, but the weight forward works. If I just chipped a little better or putt a little better, then I would break 100. I ended up with 100 even. Thank you guys for the information. I love your collaboration with Tom and Mike Malaska! Keep up with the great content.
Great video… for whatever reason stack and tilt became a dirty word. But when you listen to Bennett or Cagno describe what’s going on, it makes all the sense in the world it may not be for every pro. In fact most of them don’t but Zack Johnson comes very close to a tailor-made stack and tilt guy. I’ve been working on it for a month I’m a senior golfer. It’s really been helpful for me. this is a great video. Great summary thank you very much.
Weight forward, hands in, arms straight, shoulder down, hips tucked. I haven’t missed a fairway in many rounds. Love these guys. They are awesome. Don’t go into the weeds, listen to these dudes, Rob Cheney…Golftec…all equal better and more consistent ball striking.
I've taken over 60 lessons at Golf Tec and still can't hit the ball consistently. They teach Stack and Tilt and Tom Saguto took one swing and was a changed Golfer.
I re-started playing golf 3 years ago after a 10+ year hiatus. My job didn’t allow me to play often enough and my game deteriorated to the point where it wasn’t fun anymore. Fast-forward to now I’m in my retirement and have taken 24 lessons and I stink. Can’t break 90 and I’m ready to quit again. Maybe I’ll give this ‘stack & tilt a try.
How did I just come across this video now? I subscribe to both of your channels and loved this collaboration and personal stories. Great format, really enjoyed this. Heading out on a family road trip in an hour and going to hit some balls on backyard net after watching this video. Hopefully wife doesn’t get upset ;-)
Weight forward really changed my game. Way more consistent contact. I don’t expect to become pro, I just want to have fun! Thank you both.
Just tried this after seeing these vids and cut out 10 shots 1st round out and should have done WAY better

:)
Love to hear that, Robert! Agreed!!
Love it, Justin!!
Eric, that was excellent. You’ve convinced me, it’s worth a try. Again, really good including how you and formatted the video. Cliff
Thanks, Cliff! Appreciate the kind words and glad you enjoyed it!!
A course vlog with you two would be great!
Would love to! Maybe next time we are down!
Good vid Eric. I am not a stack and tilt player either, but for the people who consistently shoot 85 and over................................stack and tilt would make golf so much more enjoyable them and probably lower their scores as well.
Yessir!
Great to see you two collaborating! Keep it up, both of your channels are great!
Thanks, Anthony!!
Nothing but respect for both of you guys !
Appreciate you!👊
Highly recommend the weight forward technique. I use it on all my shots. Just get that weight on the left foot and watch it go. Shot my first sub 80 round with this technique this past weekend. Do it!
Even on driver?
@@gametimeflagfootball just need to modify your setup. Check out Nick Taylor Golf on RUclips.
Awesome!!
Loved this video, just watching some great ball striking and listening to good conversations.
Appreciate it, Michael! Good fun!
Good video...I know most people don't want to invest the money, but the S&T DVDs make it pretty clear that "weight forward" is a principle that can be applied by each golfer in the way that works best for them. The numbers are there in the videos to show this.
100%!
I tend to be a plus 40 golfer.. on 9 holes. Tonight I just focused on pointing the lead shoulder... plus 20. Best 9 holes of my life! There is hope for me to improve from abysmal to pretty bad by the end of summer!!
:) Keep at it!
You two are the last two coaches I ever expected to see in a collaboration lol. Its nice to see everyone getting along though 🙂
Lots of fun---Tom is great!
I love this video... two guys having a chat about golf. That was great!
:) Thanks David! Good fun!
Love these two guys and their knowledge is way better than anyone else. 👍🏴🇨🇮☘️
Appreciate ya!
HH🍀
Really enjoy you guys collaborating... great synergy. Stay crispy!
Thanks, Steven! Lots of fun!
Hey ... the "exaggeration" on tilting was perfect to visualise! It's really helping... could you do a video to explain how does tilting applies when using the driver? Cheers
Glad to hear it!
Less of the tilt with driver....you want to replace forward bend with side bend
Since you are less bent over at setup with driver (compared to iron) your shoulders should naturally tilt less
More details on driver vs. iron here!

I love S&T. I played so much better when I devoted myself to that method. And Eric, even if you are not a certified S&T guy, I always felt like you were. You & Tom are both great teachers & I love those three guys at Golftec in Singapore.
Thank you-glad to hear that!
I switched to stack and tilt and I'm not looking back. It feels so wrong at first and then you see the consistency... great stuff.
Excellent!
Timeless video-even after a bit of time-great viewing
Thank you, David!
After struggling for years with shooting in the 90s even with instructions I tried S&T and shot 86 and 82 in the last 2 rounds. I hope it is not a fluke. I hit the driver 20 yards longer and no more wild slices.
Love to hear that!
Stack and tilt has changed my game completely. Fortunately I never heard much about it prior to my first exposure to it and had no preconceived notions. Everyone is different and I don’t know if it works for everyone but I think it’s really worth a try based on my own experience.
Love it, Nick!
I like it....I used to dabble in some tennis as well!
Love it!
The more involved I'm with ST the tougher it is so much to learn, I some times get so involved with your teaching YOU make it look easy, we all no this is a very difficult game. I have tried hard ST the past six months with little success.
Hope you get it sorted, Patrick!
Thankyou soooooo much SandT has changed my golfing life
Love to hear that!
Absolutely loving you guys doing these videos together!!!!
Appreciate it, Shawn! Lots of fun!
@@CogornoGolf very cool stuff.....Tom is a riot....love that Dude! Thanks Eric!!!!!
First video of this format I’ve seen on You Tube. Love it
Thanks, Bill! It was good fun!
This was a very unique video, a nice change of pace.👍👍 way cool to just listen to two excellent instructors talk about the golf swing
Thanks Caesar!
Awesome video. My go to online is Cogorno, Saguto, and Ballard. I use a bit of each and finally cured my early extension! Thanks guys👍🏻
Love to hear that, Lindsey!
With ya, Bret!
I hope this video saves me. I was about to quit last Friday, so much effort, so little result, incredibly frustrated and broken.
Hope it does as well!!
I have been watching your videos for a long time, love that you are getting into stack and tilt. I look forward to more.
Appreciate the support!
Just tried S&T yesterday bc I was tired of poor contact. Instant success. And let's be honest, the random times I was hitting the ball well over the years was probably due to (unknowingly) using S&T.
Love to hear this!
Since I went to stack and tilt my misses are not sprayed and my scores are treading in mid to low 80's! Your vids have been a great find!
Excellent! Thank you!
Hey guys ,I'm an Senior golfer now ,I've been playing my entire life .love the game . Nvr taken a lesson ,I enjoy your teaching . I tried the head on the wall ,and I can't hardly even make a decent back swing , it hurt , lol . So I'm just saying
Hope ya feel better lol :)
@@CogornoGolf oh I'm ok ,I guess I should watch some vids that are geared for my own age lol ,any suggestions?
Wow 2nod my favourite golf instructors together... A dream indeed 👍
Appreciate your support, Vikram! Thank you!
Amazing tip. I had exactly the same feeling. Straight and much further then normal. It really helps me today
Love it!
Really enjoyed the discussion and collaboration! Thanks!
Thanks, Bob!
Heading to Tobacco Road this weekend to try out some of these new swing thoughts.
Awesome spot-enjoy!
I’m sure most of the RUclips crowd is watching for some relief of years using a traditional swing.
This swing method should be game changer for most amateurs.
:)
I remember I was practicing on the range and a golf instructor started give me some advice. I told him I was doing stack and tilt, and he began to get visually upset. I just thought it was hilarious.
:)
i guess it's not for everyone but i like it.
first time out with stack & tilt i shot 80, hit heaps of greens in reg but had an ordinary day with the putter. down from a 26 handicap to 17 real quickly
Love to hear that, Kevin!
Thank you
Agreed! Thanks man!
Great video. I truly believe every golf swing is different. It also change day to day.
👊
Thank you! Hope this one helps!
This Saguto golfer thanks you for this video Eric
:) Appreciate ya, Tod!
:) Lol love it! appreciate the kind words and support!
👊Love it Billy! Thanks for watching!
Good stuff, completely agree, very similar to the Sam Goulden square to square swing method.
Thanks!
Watching Toms video for the last 5 months and I have been crushing the ball , I had to down my clubs because i gained 30 yards ..
Love it
Weight forward, hands in, arms straight, shoulder down, hips tucked. I haven’t missed a fairway in many rounds. Love these guys. They are awesome. Don’t go into the weeds, listen to these dudes, Rob Cheney…Golftec…all equal better and more consistent ball striking.
Love it Rob!!
Woah, two of my favorite instructors, this is cool :) First time i heard of stack n' tilt was I think Aaron Baddeley back when he was unstoppable.
:) Appreciate you being here with us Tommy!
I love this! Follow both of these guys ! Both have alot of good things to say !
Appreciate ya!
I've taken over 60 lessons at Golf Tec and still can't hit the ball consistently. They teach Stack and Tilt and Tom Saguto took one swing and was a changed Golfer.
:)
Tom’s hair is wild! 😂 that dude has such a pure swing!
Lol yeah man hes a fun guy---really good dude!
Love the collaboration
👊Thanks for watching!
The bathroom reading comment made me LOL. I literally read all the stuff about golf swings while in the bathroom! 😅🤣😂
:)
Cogorno and Saguto.... magic coaching in one video.
Stack and Tilt = In Form Tiger
:)
@@CogornoGolf been enjoying having drills to work on in lockdown
I re-started playing golf 3 years ago after a 10+ year hiatus. My job didn’t allow me to play often enough and my game deteriorated to the point where it wasn’t fun anymore. Fast-forward to now I’m in my retirement and have taken 24 lessons and I stink. Can’t break 90 and I’m ready to quit again. Maybe I’ll give this ‘stack & tilt a try.
Hope you get it sorted, Mark!
How did I just come across this video now? I subscribe to both of your channels and loved this collaboration and personal stories. Great format, really enjoyed this. Heading out on a family road trip in an hour and going to hit some balls on backyard net after watching this video. Hopefully wife doesn’t get upset ;-)
:) Hope it serves you well!
I witnessed a glorious round of crispy strikes today thanks to this video! Hello 👋🏻 Simon !!!!!
