Not only have I been practicing this drill since I saw it on this video and on the video you did with a student recently, today I played 11 holes of golf and not once did I hit the ball right i.e. cut or slice the ball. I'm still trying to 'fine tune' my release so that I stop those nasty hooks, but boy oh boy, when I get it right I get a lovely penetrating draw. Awesome drill and explanation. And as we say in Ireland 'Go raibh maith agat'. (Thank you.)
Great lesson about two months ago i was watching a video you did about 4 years ago on driver after watching i fouces keeping my head back Ive never hit driver better cant wait to start using this thanks for all the help
Another gem Eric! I do some teaching at the golf shop I work at and I use your drills and swing keys almost every time. You’ll be glad to know I let my students know I got the ideas from you!
Great tip Eric! I recently watched another tip that helped me as well. I was cupping my wrist, and trying to fight to flatten it out. Which you know will cause a lot of issues... I never considered my grip being the cause of my cupping of my left wrist, but it was the cause. Now that I've corrected my left hand grip angle, it has corrected a lot my issues off the tee. I'm going to incorporate the correct grip angle and your tip, and see how that works for me. Thank you for posting another great golf tip!
Erics videos jas helped me so much thanks Eric I appreciate all your hard work that you put into these videos for us to take to the range and put it to work for ourselves
Another great video, Eric. I'm looking forward to the iron's version. It's the club where I need more consistency and is my achilles heel. Probably like most mid handicappers?!
Eric, I’ve been following your instruction for a while, and I thought your teaching leaned more toward a Stack-and-Tilt, G-Box & Precision Impact method. However, in this video, it looks like you’re demonstrating something closer to Dr. Kwon’s approach, especially Kwon's rope drill and the way your hands are rolling through the impact area to keep the shaft on plane. Even your pivot is much more abbreviated. Are you evolving your teaching philosophy, or is this just another layer to your method? Love your content-always super helpful!
My most common miss off the tee has been a block (push) to the right. I’ve seen alot of content saying to “bow” the lead wrist causing the face to stay closed longer. I’ve found this lesson of letting the club naturally shut by itself has worked the best for me. However, I occasionally get some snap hooks. Happens about 50% now. Releasing too early?
Hey! Could be....I would need to see to say for sure.....could be several things. Maybe closing the face too much/path too far to the right.....why WHY I need to see....send to www.cogornogolf.com if you dont get it sorted
Great video once again Eric. I wonder if you could adress in a future video a thing that I know it's simple but I am struggling a bit with. How do I define at what distance I should be from the ball, irons and driver? Thank you and keep the good work :)
He was swing 4 o' clock to 10 o' clock, so the club appears to be pointing from the 3 to the 12 ( the ball). I would think any angle that helps to remind you to stay in to out is fine.

Love this drill Eric. You've got a real great shoulder rotation which I try to mirror but the whole drill is terrific. Stay well coach-Russ

@@CogornoGolf amazing! thank you Eric!
Wow, instant swing improovement.
Love to hear it!
awesome drill and feels Eric! Is there an irons version of this?
Thanks! Yes coming on Saturday :)
Great video, I think this will fix everything! What angle is that iron on the ground behind you? That station setup looks very helpful.

Thank you! Yep about 4 o'clock into the ball if the ball is 12
@CogornoGolf I'm on my winter break until after the holidays, but this is something I can do indoors.
This is my drill for the winter , 100 a day, excluding the head position can this work for irons swing?

Here is the iron version!
@CogornoGolf now if I could chip, easy game!
I try this tomorrow morning
Hope it helps!
Is it just me or is it extremely hard to swing a driver with lead arm only with any kind of control?
Hey Matt! Certainly pretty hard if you're HITTING with the one arm only but PRACTICE swings should be pretty easy if you're doing it right!
