Thanks for this. I have really improved by feeling that the position and structure of my arms at the top of the backswing is actually very similar/same as the position at impact. i.e. it's simply a body turn back to the point the hands are just past the ball on the downswing, then release everything and keep turning (which actually happens naturally because you cant stop the force of the club releasing). However, whilst this really helped MASSIVELY with contact, I have been pulling the ball. Your instruction here has helped - now I have added the feel of the right wrist back and the right arm internally rotated ("facing up") on the downswing. Has really straightened out the path for me.

Good luck It’s something that struggled with for years. So i know what you mean, but there’s definitely more reasons why Golf has do it than what’s in one particular RUclips video.
Its similar. We have The Driver series on WorldClassGolf.com which is the most detailed you will see. 85 separate series 1300 videos we don’t show it on RUclips. Thanks so much for posting im glad you enjoyed it. kind regards
It is internal rotation of the upper arm and supination of the right forearm as it swings in. That gives it the illusion of external rotation. If you go external as the right arm swings from the socket you get stuck under. You are right that whatever terms you use, this is the key move.
I think I had a break through (we'll see ...). But the tennis racket with the bullseye facing away, was a big clue for me. I never understood how you can make shaft lean at impact. But this is what I'm feeling now. With the right wrist in the correct position, I feel I can ROTATE into the back of the ball, against my left side, and my right is striking into/against the (posted up) left. It just seem I have more room to move in now. Is that what I'm looking for? Seems to work, in my garage anyway. :)
Sounds like you’ve had a breakdown. Lots of our customers on WorldClassGolf.com do. We have 85 master class series on it. 1300 videos and online lessons. Members improve by 4-11 shots. Great video! Whilst aiming the clubface at the target, should the swing thought be baby-fade or baby-draw? Still need to actively release the club, but not too much? I feel like I have to 'block' the shot, but not too much....
Thanks.. I don’t think it’s possible to give written golf tips i don’t believe it be effective. I can analyse your swing then you don’t need to guess and search?
Absolutely correct with wrist angles- however, creating those movements at speed when the club is applying force is so difficult. Positions will sell the hanger, swingyde, etc, but the relaxation of the arms is the only thing that makes those moves work. Don’t see a lot of that discussed.
Great Video. I keep my right elbow good and tucked and can shallow the club decent but I struggle with not enough shaft lean. I feel it maybe a weight shift issue. Maybe left arm. I also struggle with having a straight right leg at the top. Maybe that leads to the shaft lean issue. I don't struggle with contact tho.
Shaft lean is a process. You need to work on the correct elements for a couple of months it won’t happen in a couple of hours. Unfortunately people don’t know this. So they go around in circles in the internet not really knowing what causes what jumping from video to video and never reach their potential. We have the most detailed start lean and compression series on World 🌎 Class Golf Instruction worldclassgolf.com We don’t show it all on youtube. But the series is the most detailed evidence based you will ever see. The feedback for is has been overwhelming. its not all in youtube. We have 85 series 1300+ videos.
I'm by no means a qualified anything other than a dude who loves but still sucks at golf However I feel like I finally realized what Mike Malaska and a couple Golf gurus talk about when they say whatever you take out you have to put back What that feels like to me, or makes sense to me which is going to be different for almost everyone is loading my hand and wrist properly and then honestly feeling like it doesn't do anything else but realease from my body pivot and turning properly and general -swinging normally. The only thing I think about as soon as I move away or start moving the club head away is taking out the extra wrist hinge and then I don't 'feel/quiet hands' much else. From there my sensory (eyes) and just general ability to swing back to where I started from takes over. But I'm right hand dominant and have a lot of issues with my left hand so take it for what it is No one will ever convince me differently... Club face is king. You have to load it properly for your grip. Once you do that, that's when you turn up speed and torque etc
@CraigHansonGolf Today my swing thought shifted to keeping keeping right wrist set at top of swing. Best ball striking and scoring in last 3 years. Distance 10 to 20 yards more on drives. And more fairways hit. Thank you!!
There’s a complete series on WorldClassGolf.com about the hands and wrists. We have 1300 videos 85 separate series. Theres so much we don’t show on youtube deliberately.

Awesome content but with people with limited wrist and shoulder mobility like me I will never be able to get to that position so any exercise suggestions would also help
Great instruction. Have you created a video on how to make divots in front of the ball, rather than behind the ball, when hitting irons? In other words, how to hit the ball first to avoid fat shots.
Hi Stuart, we have a full series on transition and the lateral squat move with a progression of drills WorldclassGolf.com Feels and evidence based information. You don’t find that in RUclips. It’s better than a written tip. There’s 1300 videos 85 separate series Swing Analysis.. it’s a no brainer
Getting your elbow into the slot is fine and everything, but how do you correctly release the club from that position. How do you release the club the through not having your left elbow chicken wing?
We have a complete Release Series on WorldClassGolf.com 15 videos With Drills and Slow motion clips. 85 Master Class Series It’s not possible to cover it all with one video. We don’t show it all on RUclips. There’s another series on WorldClassGolf.com i’d called the Move of millions .. this covers more information and drills on the chicken wing and release
As usual, very well explained. Any hope for a guy who can only about half supinate the right forearm and has zero extension with the right wrist (surgery result)? Having the right hand grip way down in the fingers lets me get to some "reasonable" positions. Any other obvious, simple mods come to mind? Perfect shots still occur sometimes. (Well, for a 70 year old. 🙂) BTW, getting to a flat left wrist feels icky, but if drilling for it is valuable enough, I guess I'd do it. 🙂
It’s a tough one. I don’t know if i have the exact answer. It would probably be something i’d have to see live to completely understand. I don’t have any external rotation in my right shoulder i know how hard that can make shallowing the club. We do our best 💪
@@CraigHansonGolf Thank you *so* much! Wasn't expecting a miracle (nor such a quick, thoughtful reply), but thought it best to make sure there wasn't something "simple and obvious" that I was missing. 🙂 Going lefty would make the most sense, but folks I've known about and observed (painfully) in the tennis world who have done that - and my absolute lack of ambidexterity - ruled that out quickly. 🙂
I shall now press my luck. 🙂 I use a lot of video in attempting to make swing changes, so I have a pretty good idea about what's going on. I've not gotten a good answer for, nor understanding of *why*, when I *do* come from the inside, my "divot board"-type gadgetry proves that I start hitting "toe-shanks". Maybe it's just "excessively" from the inside. Have wondered if moving the ball up in my stance would allow the club-head to eventually "reach", but suspected that might throw fifteen other relationships out of whack. Have also never seen this addressed in the million and a half RUclips lessons I've watched. 🙂
When should the right wrist break? I feel like if i break it too early, i flip the club and get stuck inside, and if i try to keep a one piece take away, i never get the right wrist set.
It’s a gradually move .. i can’t show examples here in the comments.. work on the 1-2 key moves this will help. We have a complete build your swing series on WorldClassGolf.com It covers everything. It’s not all in youtube. It really isn’t. It’s good to answer all your unanswered questions and gather in for your golf. Join the Chatroom with us…
Love the big club! Is there an intial period of the backswing with no wrist cock, like the first foot or so, or are you cocking ASAP? Would it depend on the club?
The first part of the takeaway generally the wrists don’t break much. But written tips are almost a complete waste of time. Guessing is not good. A swing analysis off me goes for 15-30 minutes You get a compressed email side by side examples a fiull analysis of your swing with me showing you drills and exercises, Or you do it by yourself. Obviously it’s up to you. WorldClassGolf.com
Thank you for your video, but I have 1 QUESTION : as a tennis player, I know and practice the concept of shallowing the wrist ... but we maintain a shallowed wrist at the contact point (otherwiseyou risk injuries).... WHAT about in golf where it seems the wrist has to be released(or not ?) ???? Thanks for your help.... and excuse my English 😢!!!!! 😊
Please have a look at my other videos or on Worldzclassgolf.com The release series. I can’t write ✍️about it it’s to complex. I’m to busy to write pages on the release
@CraigHansonGolf simple question. It's another instructor who praises loose wrists while this "tip" suggests holding that angle in the right wrist. I'm sure you have 100's of videos explaining why that we have to pay for, so never mind.

@@CraigHansonGolf yes I agree. I was at the driving range yesterday and I tried hitting my driver with my back to the target! Well guess what. It worked. I believe this stance automatically at least for me gives you that out to in or more round about swing. My contact and distance was at its best. It looks stupid but why does this work? I got back to normal but with my right foot leg way back. Good but not as consistent as my back to the target. Will still keep my right leg back but I am not aiming right. Aiming straight out. Your thoughts on this. Maybe you should do a vid on this stance. Thanks

It’s something that struggled with for years. So i know what you mean, but there’s definitely more reasons why Golf has do it than what’s in one particular RUclips video.
Absolutely so valuable! Love this video. How many of these concepts (e.g. elbow in, right palm down, etc.) apply to the driver?
Its similar. We have The Driver series on WorldClassGolf.com which is the most detailed you will see.
85 separate series
1300 videos we don’t show it on RUclips. Thanks so much for posting im glad you enjoyed it.
kind regards
Fantastic content! Thanks.
Thanks very much 👍..appreciate the post. Always great that some people take the time to post
It is internal rotation of the upper arm and supination of the right forearm as it swings in. That gives it the illusion of external rotation.
If you go external as the right arm swings from the socket you get stuck under. You are right that whatever terms you use, this is the key move.
ok thanks
좋은 영상 감사합니다.

That tommy video was the most satisfying one ever haha
Yeah great clip 👍💪
Great video! Whilst aiming the clubface at the target, should the swing thought be baby-fade or baby-draw? Still need to actively release the club, but not too much? I feel like I have to 'block' the shot, but not too much....
Thanks.. I don’t think it’s possible to give written golf tips i don’t believe it be effective.
I can analyse your swing then you don’t need to guess and search?
Can I have a discount code and where to buy please.
it’s all in the description box under the video
Absolutely correct with wrist angles- however, creating those movements at speed when the club is applying force is so difficult. Positions will sell the hanger, swingyde, etc, but the relaxation of the arms is the only thing that makes those moves work. Don’t see a lot of that discussed.
The Golf is really difficult. The fist step is to understand it.
To many opinions and arguments about people that believe they know everything
We have the most detailed start lean and compression series on World 🌎 Class Golf Instruction

We don’t show it all on youtube. But the series is the most detailed evidence based you will ever see. The feedback for is has been overwhelming.

I'm by no means a qualified anything other than a dude who loves but still sucks at golf
However I feel like I finally realized what Mike Malaska and a couple Golf gurus talk about when they say whatever you take out you have to put back
What that feels like to me, or makes sense to me which is going to be different for almost everyone is loading my hand and wrist properly and then honestly feeling like it doesn't do anything else but realease from my body pivot and turning properly and general -swinging normally. The only thing I think about as soon as I move away or start moving the club head away is taking out the extra wrist hinge and then I don't 'feel/quiet hands' much else. From there my sensory (eyes) and just general ability to swing back to where I started from takes over.
But I'm right hand dominant and have a lot of issues with my left hand so take it for what it is
No one will ever convince me differently... Club face is king. You have to load it properly for your grip. Once you do that, that's when you turn up speed and torque etc
Thanks for sharing
Exactly what I'm working on.
Nice 👌.. thanks for posting Tom
@CraigHansonGolf Today my swing thought shifted to keeping keeping right wrist set at top of swing. Best ball striking and scoring in last 3 years. Distance 10 to 20 yards more on drives. And more fairways hit. Thank you!!
This clip helps me a lot.🎉
Fantastic job. You have done.
Thanks very much 👍
Great video, still just a bit confused how the wrists are at contact. Do you have a video for that?
There’s a complete series on WorldClassGolf.com about the hands and wrists.
We have 1300 videos 85 separate series. Theres so much we don’t show on youtube deliberately.
Would the right elbow facing your body at setup help to get your elbow into this motion? Thank you
A little yes 👍- Thanks for posting

Awesome content but with people with limited wrist and shoulder mobility like me I will never be able to get to that position so any exercise suggestions would also help
Sorry to hear that. I would have to see your swing before making comments.

Great instruction. Have you created a video on how to make divots in front of the ball, rather than behind the ball, when hitting irons? In other words, how to hit the ball first to avoid fat shots.
Certainly have! We also have the compression series with a multitude of drills and exercises on Worldclassgolf.com
@@CraigHansonGolf Thanks, I'll check it out.
What do you do with the hips at the same time? I have a difficult time with that first centralising squat which immediately becomes a rotation.
Hi Stuart,
we have a full series on transition and the lateral squat move with a progression of drills WorldclassGolf.com
Feels and evidence based information.
You don’t find that in RUclips.
It’s better than a written tip.
There’s 1300 videos

Swing Analysis.. it’s a no brainer
Getting your elbow into the slot is fine and everything, but how do you correctly release the club from that position. How do you release the club the through not having your left elbow chicken wing?
We have a complete Release Series on WorldClassGolf.com
15 videos With Drills and Slow motion clips.
85 Master Class Series
It’s not possible to cover it all with one video. We don’t show it all on RUclips.
There’s another series on WorldClassGolf.com i’d called the Move of millions .. this covers more information and drills on the chicken wing and release
I’m assuming this all applies to the driver as well?
Yes it does 👍
As usual, very well explained.
We have a complete build your swing series on WorldClassGolf.com
It covers everything. It’s not all in youtube. It really isn’t.

Hi Great Video where I can buy the big black training golf club
Thanks 😊… the big black club is called Momentus.. i don’t think they make them anymore.
Have a look in google 👍
Who makes that giant iron face swinging aid and where can I purchase it?
I don’t believe they make them anymore
Love the big club! Is there an intial period of the backswing with no wrist cock, like the first foot or so, or are you cocking ASAP? Would it depend on the club?
The first part of the takeaway generally the wrists don’t break much.
But written tips are almost a complete waste of time.
Guessing is not good. A swing analysis off me goes for 15-30 minutes
You get a compressed email side by side examples a fiull analysis of your swing with me showing you drills and exercises,
Or you do it by yourself. Obviously it’s up to you.
WorldClassGolf.com
Would you have the shaft lean for hybrids too .?
yes
Brilliant.
Thank you very much 👌
Thank you for your video, but I have 1 QUESTION : as a tennis player, I know and practice the concept of shallowing the wrist ... but we maintain a shallowed wrist at the contact point (otherwiseyou risk injuries)....
They've always said the golf swing is like skipping a rock across a pond. Same exact motion. You really see that in this video.
So what do you think about Paul Wilson's (Ignition Golf) swing theory of loose wrists?
i have no idea what that is? Are you posting stuff for him in the comments areas everywhere?
@CraigHansonGolf simple question. It's another instructor who praises loose wrists while this "tip" suggests holding that angle in the right wrist. I'm sure you have 100's of videos explaining why that we have to pay for, so never mind.
@@24wnbfpro that’s how we make a living .. not everything is for free
@@24wnbfpro people get really disappointed these days because they believe it’s all for free.

Have a look at the Driver Series on WorldClassGolf.com
The feedback has been overwhelming 👍
Chris could you answer something for me? Why is it always taught to get the trail elbow in front of you? You see all the pros the trail elbow is at the trail hipbone. I struggle from alot of crap teaching ive watched on RUclips but youve never steered us wrong
They just follow and regurgitate each other’s garbage. They don’t really understand what’s going on.
So is the right palm up like your carrying drinks on a tray or that is just not the way the right palm should be??? Thanks
That never really helped me that holding a tray thought .. that’s why i just did a 14 minute video with side by side examples, using slow motion clips and photos and heaps of training aids to explain it
@@CraigHansonGolf yes I agree. Thanks
Your dropping your right shoulder on down swing. Please explain this piece! Thanks
Is this position the same for all shots ? Like pitch shots ? Etc
yes it is
To many props! As easy as skipping a rock sheeeesh
Well the video has 1.1 million views
you think i should listen to you?
Safe to say that you need your trail wrist in ulnar deviation at setup for this wrist back move…,
make sure you have a good grip at set up 👍👍
What grip pressure do you recommend on a 1 to 10 scale?
5
I really like those pants. Where can I buy them from?
