I've had both my Corona shots too. Luckily down here in Tasmania we haven't had a Corona positive person in 16 months so I feel incredibly lucky to live here.
Just found your channel, love finding Aussie soapers ❤️ I’m new to soaping and want to thank you for your lovely recipe. Could I add sugar for lather and salt to help unmould?
You can use 1% sodium lactate (salt derived) and you can add sugar but i say i try to keep it natural. So glad you found me. We also set up the Australian soaping and candle conference and in 2024 we have the amazing marie from humblebee and me attending .
Hi, love watchi g you. I have just made my first batch of soap, i am most happy that i found this baby soap video as my skin is very senitive, so i am going to try this one. I used the ice with the lyeand i dont get that fumes , it still get warm
@@NelsonInteriorSoapery hi, so nice u recommend other recipe for other skin problem, i am here looking for pregnant woman skin's problem, her skin is very dry, i already give castile soap but didnt work, many recipe used coconut oil but as i now coconut can make skin feeling dry Can you recommend a suitable recipe for me? Thankyou
@veranita1867 hi there. Coconut is good in 20% or less but to allow for free floating oils you need to super fat to 7-12 as this helps. By adding shea butter it will help to
Thanks for another great video. 😊 Do you check your lye water temperature before adding in the other oils or is the heat transfer method good enough at cooling your lye down. I find myself waiting and waiting for the lye and oils to be similar in temperature before blending.
You can do a tripple butter. When there high olive oil you need to give the bar time to age. But try 20% cocoa and 25% shea and the rest olive oolong then cure for 6 weeks
Hey Rhonda, love your videos 😍. I am going to give this recipe a go as I have had heaps of people request something similar. I was just wondering how it would go in individual silicon moulds, as in would this recipe unmould well especially as I wouldn't add my sodium lactate?? Thanks 🙂
Hi Dona . I have organised the Australian soapery and candle conference with guest speakers, suppliers, awards and $5000 in prizes. It’s about teaching how to make, sell, package, training, community and grown and earn money from soap and candle makibg. Here’s the link to the site to see australiansoapingandcandleconference.com
The recipe is in the description. It’s not kg but GRAMS. Basically I suggest you buy all recipes back through soap calc to recheck. I use 25% Shea 75% olive oil
The lye amount you mentioned and poured doesn’t match the recipe you posted, unless I am missing something… what is your temperature recommendation for blending?
I let everything cool as much as possible then blend. This is an older video but tge posted recipe should be right. Always put any recipe back through soap calc to double check it
@@NelsonInteriorSoapery Thank you. I made a 77% shea butter and remaining oils in equal % olive oil and fractionated coconut oil (vs regular coconut oil, this is all I had at home). After unmolding it is still somewhat sticky and the lather is really poor. I don't mind little lather, but the lather is absent...The soap gets creamy with interaction of water. I saw a video on 100% shea butter and that one still had more lather than mine. I don't know why such little lather. If you see this and feel like sharing how your lather turned out on the above recipe... I had it at 5% super fat, but some lye did not resolve (1 tsp) and I strained it.
@@tatianaschoenfield9819 I look at all my comments and appreciate them. A baby soap does not have much lather as there’s no coconut oil and little Shea. I cure mine for 9 months and I leave it in the mould for several days. I will add some notes to the description of this one to let people know there’s a mistake. Thank you for letting me know

So lucky. We will move forward soon from it . Keep safe 😇

Just wondering where the soap packaging box is from please?
It’s from heirloom

What about soap base?
What do you mean . I’m. Not sure what the question is
Do you have a similar recipe that doesn’t require so much curing?
No. With high oil content you need the cure time or the bar would get mushy but you could do a higher Shea butter content to bulk the butters up
You Peaked my interest
Is it pure olive oil or pumice olive oil
Pure olive oil
Does the water need to be distilled or is tap ok ? Is 2 months curing ok?
You need 6 months curing due to high oil content . Yes it needs to be distilled water as tap water can react with lye
@@NelsonInteriorSoapery Thankyou!!
Never ever use tap in any of your soaps
@@UnchainedVintage yes that’s right
What is your super fat for this recipe. Have first grandchild and I have to try this!
