- Offroading at Menai with a freshly built Land Rover Discovery 1 300tdi. Tagging along we have 2 Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5's.
This was the first test in this sort of difficult rocky terrain for the purple D1 beast. There are still more modifications to go before it is complete but it is almost there. It is twin locked with MaxiDrive lockers and sits on 35inch ProComp tyres wrapped around Rattler Alloy Beadlocks. It has a 3inch coil lift with 2 inch body lift. Superior engineering front radius arms combined with a 4-link rear suspension letting it flex nicely.
We hope you enjoy the video and look forward to reading your comments.
Feel free to share and drop us a like if you enjoyed watching.

Love to see the discos in action! Need more of this!
Offcourse you do 😉
Plenty more Disco action to come 👍
Love Discos. 3 brilliant ones here.
He did well even though his lockers were playing up on zook hill, well done 👍
Couldnt agree more 👍
Almost the same as my v8 D1 rig 😁 balls of steel there thou haha . Great vid
To the bloke that owns that brilliant D1
G'day Coops, could you please, Please give us a walk around of your rig!
Its amazing flex and lift.
35" feet on a D1 without major obstructions.
Would be greatly appreciated, (i reckon) by more than just myself if you would kindly share the secrets of the Purple Beasty!
If not, then cheers for showing up for this vid.
It'll come I've got a few more mods before I'm completely happy with it, then we'll look at putting something together
@@gabrielcooper7790 Fairdinkum! That'd be grouse cobber! Impressive rig to say the least. Cheers for answering . Looking forward to the reveal.
Brutal!! 💪😎
Nice work little bro
Very happy to finally see you back!
Thanks bro, hopefully we can start uploading more regularly again 😊
Love these rigs
Disco 💪
that's some good filming of the Menai tracks ! like the chapters too . good stuff
Thanks buddy 🍻
Iv done all this coming home from the pub in my d2, and its factory.
Haha
Awesome to see just discos out again 👌🏻 need more v8 discos as well 😜
Oh yeah that v8 tone is definitely needed 😊
@@lror shit yeah! When you bringing the d1 back out? 😜
Haha i got too many on my plate already man 😂
@@lror awww come on I need that v8 fix haha 😝
Gosh, there were a couple of pretty big leans there.
There were some moments 😳
Superflex radius arms on Purple D1? Nice set up. 👍
👌
How did u not tip over .The movement on that purple ones suspension is mental.
Enjoyed that video 💯👍
Coooweee Evo!
Mint drive by the 3 rigs, but as you are aware, the Mighty D1's are my favourite.
The flex in it is inspirational!
I need the specs.. please Evo! (my attempt at grovelling lmao)
And bugger all guard grindage to boot.
Bonza video cobber.
Cheers for sharing.
Hooroo for now
Hey cheers for the comment mate. Up the mighty D1 💪
So much has been done to this rig its probably best to do a video about it. Let Coops know in the comments that we all would enjoy a walk around 👍
@@lror Cheers Evo, will do.
Did he have to change his skivvies after a couple of those leans? Would be curious to know what happened to the front locker (I'm going to guess broken wire). It was beast mode up to that point.
Them maxi drive lockers engage through vacuum and all lines looked to be in place. Maybe the locking collar was a bit sticky and couldnt slide across. Seems to be working as it should now though.
Haha actually he wasn't phased at all.
How did he not roll over? Great effort
Very close but he has balls of steel not backing off
Finally the Discovery. Great video 👍. Does my colleague on silver D2 also have a channel? He swapped the Toyo MT for some other tires.
Well spotted. He is now on Nitto Ridge Grapplers and loves them. What you cant see is he is on Toyota diffs now. No channel unfortunately.
These disco's look so good man. What suspension setups are you guys running?
@18:50 😮😮😮
Wwwooo in the purple D1 ha ha ha. How the hell does the front end in thing work so well full on
Colour looks even better in person. Progressive coils is a big part in getting the front going.
The front end is a work in progress, currently have superior arms but Im looking at extended front radius arms and upgrading the shocks... watch this space 👌
@@gabrielcooper7790 i recon move the mounts back a bit and three link would work well. And im watching like some werdo im watching ha ha ha
Nice Disco 1, also have one 300tdi....what mods do you have on the engine? how is the exhaust? Sounds good! cheers ;)
It's got twin inlet manifold, vnt turbo, 3 inch exhaust, larger intercooler, boost pin and ring, performance head. Think that's about it
Hy very nice video. What wheel disc have the silver d2?
He is running Toyota 5 stud diffs so you might not find the same ones in Rover pcd. Anyway theyare Dirty Life alloys 17x9 with a neg 38 offset.
What tyres are you running please ..great video.keep well boys .
The green d2 is running 33 inch tyres while the other 2 are on 35s
@@lror what lift is he running to flex the 33s
How do you get your disco to flutter?
Hello. Which wheels does it ride, the blue Discovery? Thank you
It's running Rattler Alloy Beadlocks. More details in the video description 👍
@@lror ok, thanks. 15" or 16"? 5x120?
They are 17" 5 X 120 👌
Thanks
Where you source those headlights for D1 my freind ?
ebay cobber.
They are RDX headlight surrounds from the UK with STEDI 7 inch led headlights
I’d have found another route 🤣
Good stuff but locks on at the bottom and Turn them off at the top
Yeah its unfortunate, he would have drove it pretty easy if the locker was working.
Front locker didn't engage on that hill climb at all then it started working straight after haha
Painful to watch. Definitely time for some driver training on 4wd techniques.
