Tom Taylor must be a huge Steve universe fan with that ending lmao.
I don’t get how Tom Taylor rights Jon really well in the Dceased universe and completely fumbles writing Jon in the main universe
I wondered the same thing. But the two Jon comics exposed him and his writing style
Maybe editorial is guiding him?
some people said that Tom tylor is good when it comes only to elsewhere stories or other earths
maybe this is why he didn't write jon well in the main unvirise
the thing is that jon kent was already ruinned thanks to bendis,we expected taylor to undo that damage but he decided to tag along and he ended up making him worse.
Mannn I miss Rebirth Jon so much. Its so Heartbreaking Like legit Jon was such a new Breakout Star during Rebirth while Tomasi was writing. He was Just killing it at the time. It was awesome
but well time after time First Bendis and Now Tom has turned him into like legit one of the Worst (if not THE worst ) Lagacy Character ever out there ooh boy
same here I miss Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self everyday.
They had the perfect way out if Jon Kent was really the real son of Injustice Superman or Ultra Man. And the real Superman could have began a journey to find his real son. He could have stayed a kid and everything but no...
lol indeed
Agreed. From the very first story that Jon came back as an adult, I literally assumed that was where they were going with this. "This is so obvious, that's UltraMan's son and our Jon is still being held by UltraMan" lol. Then they showed that Jay Nakamura could become intangible, so I was like ok: he's obviously Earth-3 MartianBoy and he is telepathically nudging Jon to sincerely believe that he is our Jon. Boy was I wrong.
Look how they massacred my boy. He had Ultraman vs Jon gift wrapped. It was a softball lob and Tom screwed us. And now theyre making it worse.
I can’t believe that the Nightwing book is still going on and now they’ve decided to put Tom Taylor on Titans
This is how the series should have ran. Jon Kent goes to Earth 3 along with earth 2 justice league to defeat Ultraman. It goes wrong and the Crime Syndicate almost kill them and capture some. Jon relives some of the trauma with Ultraman but breaks free due to help from earth 2 society. The group also takes the time to potentially save people and other supermen if there are any. They fight with the Crime Syndicate but potentially get aid from Amanda Waller and her Justice League. A a giant war like battle takes place on Earth 3 with many of the Crime Syndicate being arrested by Amanda, Jon, and Earth 2 Justice League. Ultraman sees this and decides to drag out another fight into the multiverse. He also is secretly trying to kill and run to fight another day.
Jon and Ultraman get into one last fight with Ultraman using the chance to trap Val and Lois in the Phantom Zone. Jon and Ultraman fight an epic battle wiith Jon finally overcoming his demons. He partially unlocks more from his Superman Blue form and takes out him and Ultraman. Jon sees the beaten badly Ultraman and smiles knowing he is no longer afraid of him. Then Ultraman gets up ready to try and kill Jon Kent cursing him telling him, "This will never be over. I will always come back for my Jon."
They get into a struggle fight chock hold with Jon trying to get free. This is when Injustice Superman swoops in and kills Ultraman. This gives Jon a mix of emotions that he thought he could never feel. One his abuser is dead and he has some of the same morals as his father. The rule of never killing his opponents and trying to save them. He sees one monster dead and another monster who is wearing his dads exact face. Then Tom Taylor should have had Jon explore and learn about the story of Injustice. He would see what would happen if his dad did more. Jon would learn that being superman is not only about trying to lead by good example, but to not try and force your will on others. At the end of the day they are still people and are prone to breaking. Jon would learn that Injustice Superman would be the end result of who he will become if taken a dark path with "Why don't you do more".
Jon would learn about just doing his part and nothing more. He would either be forces back to earth or sent home willingly. He would return home and hug his real prime earth fathter. He would tell him "Thank you for doing your part dad. I learned we just need to do enough. We need to do our part and get through the problems together. A tyrant will try to stand alone, while a hero will try to work with the people. Jon will learn lessons from both Ultraman and Injustice Superman about how to heal. To not let trauma and and succumbing to your inner demons ruin who you are. Jon would have become Injustice Superman if not for this story.
Damn, this is pretty good. I want to read this book.
Yeah I’m officially done with Taylor writing Jon. He’s to Jon what Johns is to Wonder Woman, Morrison to Talia, Devin to Nightwing, Fitzmartin to Tim, etc etc
Jon Kent has gone full Gary Stu
Superman has been my favorite for almost 60 years and when I divorced I had to sell my 125,000 comic collection and I've read very few comics since and if this is the stories they are printing I'm so glad I'm not reading I have my fond memories of my Superman from years gone by my Supwrman was faster than a speeding bullet more powerful than a locomotive able to leap tall buildings at a single bound that was my Superman
Sorry you had to sell bro
Jon Kent being responsible for IJ Superman’s multiple murders is not where I expected this to go
god i remember watching your batman arkham mods when i was like 7, i especially remember the hulkbuster and deadpool ones and the batman v superman gta 4 mod. i wish your channel got more views and subscribers as you deserve it. i hope youre doing well now man
Thanks for sticking around! Hope all is well with you too man.
Yeah my opinions on Tom Taylor's work have soured a lot recently since his Nightwing run faded into boring mediocrity and I stopped reading it, and his pretty terrible Jon Kent run. I read the first issue of his Titans book and it was meh, whatever. He relies way too much on fan service and preaching about politics these days instead of telling a good story. Funny thing is I used to really like Taylor's writing, comparing the first few DCeased miniseries to where we are now you can see a huge drop in quality.
I also agree on that last part, Jon Kent was initially one of my favorite new additions to the Superman mythos, but ever since Bendis aged him up he has been as interesting as a plank of wood. The one time I actually found him interesting post-age up was Dark Crisis of all things, which actually kinda made him cool in spite of how badly it did everything else IMO.
I’m all for the “Try to talk out the situation and only use violence as a last resort” method of superheroing, but a certain point the superhero has to realize that you can’t settle every issue with words.
If this was Jon talking to Injustice Superman (year 1) I can understand him just trying to settle it with words. At that point superman was more of an antihero and the worst he had done was kill the Joker. But judging by the designs in this comic, this is clearly meant to take place during your 51 superman sent Zzazz to kill Alfred just because he hurt Superman’s feelings.
At this point in the story, superman had to be defeated, not just told “Hey, you’re kind of being a dick.”
Jon didn’t accomplish anything in this comic and unless it said the story created an alternate timeline in Injustice, this comic clearly must’ve had no effect on the Man of Steel since he never brings this up and continues to believe full heartedly that he’s doing what he has to.
It really sucks because, even though I’m tired of the evil Superman trope, I love Injustice. And seeing as we’re probably not gonna be getting a third game anytime soon, following the death of Kevin Conroy, it’s sad that this mediocre comic could very possibly be the end of the Injustice series.
I put off reading Injustice for forever because I'm also sick of Evil Superman, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
TItle made me laugh out loud. Thanks buddy.
Of course it didn’t stick the landing. DC need a reboot: so does Marvel
They need to stop pushing all these heroes no one gives a shit about.
Naa, Dc Doesn't needs a Reboot. Evey other stuff is going quite well right now. Its just jon who sucks
Marvel and DC can't be fixed by "rebooting." They need to literally pretend like everything after 2011 was never published. Both companies committed suicide that year.
That Jay Nakamura in that world is straight
Bringing in plot points like "6-Year-Long-Torture" is ridiculous when they refuse to acknowledge how easily Super-Strong villains can gore a ton of people without engaging in a battle first. Or that Professor Zoom could easily rape every woman on the planet without anyone even being aware that this happened.
They really want to have their cake and eat it, when it comes to grimdark trash.
Kid Jon Kent is fine, but the adult Jon Kent is complete trash.
Earth 2 Superman is not President Obama Superman, he’s Val-Zod, the son of Zod.
2 completely different characters.
The thing I’m amazed by is that editorial told him that he could kill off ultraman, and not beat the absolute shit out of Injustice Superman. I’m not one for saying violence is never the answer, but if Tom Taylor wants to make Jon holier than thou he should’ve had Injustice superman get millierocked by Jon. However as a new reader of Superman, Williamson’s run is fantastic!! AC I just bought for the backups tbh.
Ayo Jon did what to himself dry???
He was written great as a kid and terrible grownup. There couldn’t be a better representation for child actors than Jon Kent.
because :
1-he grew up fast before they developed his kid character
2- they don't know what to do with adult jon because clark is there
This also proves my point that tom taylor just doesn't give a damn about Jon kent or his story but just wants him to be a mouth piece which is just garbage.
It makes me so darn sad to see this is what they are doing with Jon :(
Guess i'll forever stick to the supersons era and turn a blind eye on any new stuff about him.
Oh by the way the superman who interacted with Jon Kent was Val zod superman from earth 2 not president superman from grant Morrison just wanted to let you know.
Oh whoops my bad.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer that's okay man :)
It makes sense for Jon not to want to fight Superman, cause that's his dad, and he should always want to see the best in others. BUT not this Jon Kent. He gave off dictator vibes in the other tom taylor solo series. Nice facial hair.
Wait, isn’t injustice Superman exactly what Jon wanted during the Superman: Son of Kal-El books?? Superman doing more? Isn’t that right?? 😂
Whoops! Maybe I should’ve watched until the end. Haha
Love how everyone is clowning on Jon
Thanks for the warning. Tom Taylor's writing is "ass"!
So the confrontation with Ultraman was wasted, and the Injustice thing was pointless. I've seen crackship fanfics written better than this comic
But I'm reading the nightwing trades by the same guy. he wrote injustice, Deceased and All new Wolverine has he been possessed? I don't get it 😂😂😂
I'm not a fan of the injustice-verse either.
I'm not gonna lie in my opinion. I really like the injustice universe Even though there's really stupid parts to it. And injustice is what really made me get into comics. But I can't believe he fuck it up and fumbled it. With this story, he kind of just made the universe wack
You had mentioned awhile back about an underrated Superman story you recommend everyone reads. Which one was it?
I'd have to know the video that I mentioned this in but I might have been Superman Camelot Falls.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer I don't remember the video but I think that's it!
Wait is this series of mini or an ongoing I’m confused
It was initially a mini but I think it's on going now?
@@TheRealComicBookGamer i don't think this is a ongoing series.
I usually disagree with everything you complain about because I really enjoy modern DC and it's direction, but yeah Tom Taylor's neo lib bullocks is pretty annoying
Never heard epitome pronounced that way.
I actually dig the hug because like Grant Morrison said Superman always solves problems without using violence, he loves everyone, hes hope to everyone. Jon did that, he brought hope to a hopeless Superman, hope that injustice supes will see his wrongs. Jon really is the son of Superman.
Superman should absolutely try to solve problems without using violence but not at the expense of innocents. This situation involves a dictator that regularly has public executions and was about to execute Batman and Harley that same day but instead of trying to stop his reign of terror Jon gave him a hug and a speech and then acted like he really accomplished something. When Jon is teleporting away at the end he doesn't seem worried for the people at all, he thinks he's defeated this Superman but that's clearly not the case. Jon freed Batman and Harley but beyond that he didn't do anything when he really could've made an impact on that world. This doesn't feel like the son of Superman, this feels like a wannabe giving himself a pat on the back for doing nothing.
I hate this story so much and once again proves me point that DC should just deage Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy back to his little 10 year old self and stop trying to make teenage Jon Kent a thing because frankly he doesn't work and just stop telling these horrible stories with injustice and jay nakamura because none of these stories actually work with his character, and frankly just proves my point more and more that DC made a massive mistake and should just listen for once in there damn lives and skulls that people like me want the return of the real Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy back to his little 10 year old self and reunite with Damian Wayne robin reunite with Kathy aka beacon maya ducard aka nobody and have them reform the actual super sons and boom problem solved everybody wins. Also as for solving the teenage Jon Kent problem have him be from earth 3 and the real Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy is still his little 10 year old self and is still out there alone and needs to be saved and boom problem solved everybody wins but that's just my opinion.
only if superman hugged superman at the end of injustice lol. Jon kent reminds me of TFS gohan when cell and android 16 calls him a coward. also, injustice superman wouldn't break his arm, he would've broken his neck.
Injustice was the first comic run I ever read, so I was excited for this despite how much Jon’s book sucked before. However, hugging this Clark after everything he’s done just feels like some Rose Tico type sh
I’m sure Batman has hugged the Joker before
