What Nightwing needs is his own rogues gallery. And Deathstroke should be his archenemy.
It’s sad how Dc hasn’t known what to do with Nightwing for a while. They’re always trying to change him and his identity. It may have worked for him taking over as Batman since it is a temporary thing but Dc should stop always changing him and have him progress and get consistent and solid writers like Dixon and Tomasi to write the character and show why he’s one of the best characters in comics. In Taylor’s case, he has potential but think it gets lost with filler arcs and injecting a bunch of unneeded political aspects in the stories
I always thought that the relationship between Nightwing and Jon Kent came out of nowhere and is really unnecessary to have them close friend despite having Damian as Jon’s best friend.
This current Nightwing run started off so strong, but this book is moving slower than a sloth. It's really stupid that Dick didn't ask Barbara or Tim or hell even Jason to keep tabs on Heartless. This book suffers from both bad pacing and Plot Induced Stupidity. Also, I completely forgot Melinda existed until you brought it up. I guess that goes to show how meaningless her addition to the Nightwing mythos is.

The thing about Taylor is that he can be a good writer but he chooses not to in some instances. He would rather pat himself on the back and impress Twitter rather than tell quality stories. And his constant need to “own” those who criticize him by posting “witty” comebacks just comes off as bad. The man needs to delete his Twitter and focus on telling more quality stories.
I think the best thing right now for Nightwing would be to replace Tom as the writer and wrap up this heartless storyline, and then have Dick step in as the leader of a new justice league along with Donna in place of Diana, Wally for Barry, Tempest for Arthur, Roy for Oliver, and even have Jon or Kara come on as the teams Superman for Dc's Dark Crisis to put Nightwing in a more important role in the DC universe
It's sad how new writers don't know what to do with DC stories nowadays it sucks how Nightwing is going downhill he's literally my favorite superhero besides Superman.

Recently ive been binging the 1996 nightwing series and I absolutely loved it. Devin grayson's run is pretty good in my opinion

I think Taylor gets Nightwing, but his story is just moving way too damn slow. I mean, that first arc was damn good and set up the stakes. But then "Fear State" happened so that's two or three issues that were pretty much wasted, and then there was the single issue that was one long image, which while really cool, didn't advance the story. And now the book is focusing too much on Dick's philanthropy, which would be fine if it didn't slow down things to a crawl. It's all about pacing, and Taylor is clearly struggling with that.
I dropped Taylor's Nightwing run a while ago. At first, it felt like a pretty book with potential. But then...outside of the boring "plot" and juvenile fanservice, the Dick Grayson of this run is just NOT a good person.
Great video man. What I really think the biggest shame about Taylor’s run is how easily it seems like the story could be really great. He has a solid grasp of the characters he’s working with, and if he just could pick up the pace I think the book would be really good.
