Magnifique légende musicale des années 70-80 ❤ ,j'ai bientôt la soixantaine mais je me lasse pas d'ecouter ce groupe qui me donne une belle énergie positive ❤❤❤❤❤
That's because the director who made this video worked alongside the group, and they had good ideas of where to translate the audio into a visual form. Also, this was made with good old fashion 35mm film, which can be scanned up to 6k/near 8k resolution if possible. So if ten more years pass, we could possibly start to see more 8k scans of the film but that's about as far as it will go. I can't imagine scanning the film at another higher resolution than 8k to be precise. 16k is just crazy. But the song, good old fashion pop hits that make your foot tap no matter what day or hour of the year it is.
Abba's production always was immaculate. As I remember, that were Björn and Benny- they wrote most of the material and...oops!! Michael Tretow a.o. did the production. My bad. I believe, that their authenticity- though often a bit frumpy and stiff, which has it's own charm, is what made them so HUGE. It has a bit Phil Spector- wall- of- sound in it. It appeals to many ears, no matter where you're from. Universal. Will be remembered for hundred years or more- strange idea, btw, that there might be some day in the future, where ABBA is looked at as classical music😂...or even the whole "popmusic" will be a nearly forgotten area...aaargh!! Happy I won't be there.😮😮😮😂❤
Abba was my grandmas favorite band. She died during Covid from her combo stage 4 breast cancer & Covid. This song makes me feel like I’m 5 years old driving around Philly with her.
they are a favorite with my own mother as well :) when she turned 32 dad gave her a pirated cassette with Gold Greatest Hits :) and since then I've been an ABBA fan (I'm 30, five weeks older than my own love for this band) :)
I’m crying right now. My grandpa would play this song over and over and over for me I was 2/3. It still brings back those pure feeling of joy and happiness! I miss you grandpa.
@justinerodriguez-kirschner3294 Hey, you're keeping his memory alive. He's looking down on you and smiling that you miss him so much. I'm sure he would be proud that you've grown into the independent and strong person you are today. Remember he lives on through you. Celebrate the fact that without him you wouldn't be here !!. Celebrate his life, raise a glass of wine to his memory and be thankful that he has left you with memories that you can treasure. As we get older, times is a very valuable commodity. Love those that you love fiercely.
It's funny I read this while listening, my granddaughter and I have been going through some of these old songs tonight, just listened to Al Stewart, Time Passages about ten minutes ago, we have a ball she's just dancin away.
Never to late to discover such a GEM like this. I was in my 20's when I first heard this I'm 64 now! You might be 82 but it sounds like your young at heart and that's a great place to be my friend. Enjoy.
Someone played this about a month ago, out of nowhere, and I was like 'yesyesyesyes gimme more' before I even knew it was ABBA. Granted, I can never play this at parties, but, I'll just dance with myself.
Abba was offered 1 billion to reunite and tour they said no! I don't get it? People love there music to this date and would love to see them live on stage again!
My Mom is in the early stages of dementia and doesn’t remember much of anything even her own children at times. But when I play ABBA, a little bit of her comes back. The power of music!!!!
I worked with a Catholic Nun, she had an ABBA tattoo on her hand. We used to sing ABBA songs together at work, such a bonding thing that was. She is now up in heaven and I imagine she is dancing next to me every time I play an ABBA song now!! Miss you Sr. Juanita!! ❤❤❤
No idol worshippers in the world to come. So she won’t be there. You cannot believe in a human being as your god and expect to get rewarded by the Creator.
@@ThatGuy-sd3zl Look, I'm also an atheist, but this person means no harm and they are just sharing a wholesome experience. No need to be an ass for no reason and when they aren't being one themselves.
I’m 53, in the 1970’s my Mum would iron and clean to Abba. I’d dance around the living room as she did. Great memories. My Mum’s favourite group. She just passed away last month. Keep dancing in heaven Mum x
witches altar...You are soooo right. HAPPY is what ABBA was and is all about. On September 2nd, their I Still Have Faith In You was released, and within two days that video had 20 million views and 30 thousand comments. Viewing that one ABBA video, I cried a Happy cry for hours, replaying the damn thing over and over. ABBA defines HAPPY.
My mom used to jam to ABBA while she was cleaning the house before i started kindergarten. It was played so much i would sing with her. Now that she passed i find myself jamming to them too. Love ABBA!!!
With me it was my wife.we married in 1984. She'd dance around the house in her shorts n t shirt listening to abba lol. I lost her in a wreck in 2013 so any abba song is precious to me.
Frida is just gorgeous, still is! I love how Benny & Björn's lyrics where so meaningful, loving and inspiring. Not like the garbage you hear on national radio now! And I idolise how Agnatha's vocal incorporate with Frida's in such a unique, incredible and believable standard. In love with ABBA😍😘
These two ladies were equally beautiful and talented. They had swagger and attitude but they were humble and gracious to each other and the rest of the world. They would pass the torch to each other every other song but they didn't let personal egos overshadow each other. They complimented each other perfectly and their harmonies were powerful and uplifting.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Anni-Frid, though was the model. During her EMI Sweden and TV days, 1967-1972, she drew lots of attention for her looks and fit body and started modeling. Re: vocal talent and stage talent Anni-Frid is the one that garner's respect from the music community, past and present. She was identified in grade school her vocal talent. In 1956 she took to the stage after being elected Children's Day Princess. She swept the talent hunts. From 1956-1958 she was on stage performing in lots of charity events. In 1958, she turned pro, age 13, when she became "legal". She had already earned respect from music pro's and they hired her as soon as possible. Frida at age 13, was making her own way. Fronting bands and orchestras, too include 'Anni-Frid Four' / 'Anni-Frid & Gunnar Trio', 1963-1966. Frida has won best vocalist awards as a child, pre-teen, teen and adult. In 1964 she won a national level best vocalist award. In 1967, her big break - National Best Vocalist, which she appeared on National TV hours after her win. She became known nationally for her stage and TV performances. Re: Agnetha She actually started her music ambition as a writer. Pre-teen she decided to become a singer. She became Nationally known, not from stage or vocal awards, but via a record label. She was a record label generated pop star. In her teens she had fronted a local band. She graduated HS and took a job as a phone operator at a car dealership. Meantime a record label heard a tape of the band she was with...and Agnetha had a vocal on the same tape. The record label thought she had a nice voice... He contacted her and cut a record.... This is how her pop career started, record label generated and marketed pop star. ________ For ABBA's background and how they become a foursome, read: ABBA: Bright Lights Dark Shadows The Real Story of ABBA by Carl Magnus Palm ** The girls vocal abilities are discussed. Frida gets lots of attention and praise from the ABBA team and her peers that goes back to her grade school days. Benny, Bjorn and Michael Tretow -- ABBA's engineer, considered Frida a master vocalist. ** Carl is ABBA's historian. He knows more about them than anybody else on Earth.
Right. I guess it is also somehow in nordic culture. And what also shows level is this natural unspoiled look geting older. People get tested also by age and ABBA has pased this test probably better than anybody else. Spiritual nobility I would say. Those days we do not see such things on the stage of popmusic.
Their eyes were almost hypnotic...they could have been a couple of fembots...those robots that whooped Jaimie Sommers ass on the Bionic Woman and made her jump out of a window...
My dad took my on a tour of Europe when I graduated from high school. It was 1982, he also bought me a brand new Sony Walkman. Two cassette tapes I played on trains all across Europe, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria, were Abba and Stevie Nicks. Bella Donna had just come out around that time as well. Awesome memories, and these songs never get old. R.I.P. Dad, I love you and thanks for the best times in my life!!!
What would life have been like without ABBA! Happy 50th! 🎉 Go to ABBA Voyage concert as soon as you can! I remember vividly watching the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest as a 6 year old and watching ABBA performing “Waterloo”, and being mesmerised. I’ve been a fan ever since, even being bullied for it, especially when entering secondary school in 1978. ABBA have a combined wealth of nearly £1.5billion. Oddly enough, 6 April 1974 to 6 April 2024 is 1,577,912,463 seconds. So ABBA have earned £1 per second over the last 50 years! Thank you Anni-Frid, Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha.
My parents were in their mid-50's during the 1970's. They were not rock & roll enthusiasts. They used to do square dancing and round dancing. Some choreographer choreographed a round dance to Dancing Queen and my mother loved it!
I was washing dishes and listening to the 70's music and this song came on. I went right to my computer and put on my head phones and sat down to listen to this song. I will be 70 yrs old next month in August.
How someone found four of the happiest, most inoffensive talented people on the face of the earth and put them together at the right time is simply baffling.
I'm heavy metal to the core, worship at the altar of Sabbath, Metallica, Tool and Avenged Sevenfold, yet can still say without reservation that ABBA is 100% Awesome
The best vocal harmonies to ever come outta Sweden, for sure. There is a current modern day contender in an sisterly duo from Stockholm: First Aid Kit. Their vocal harmonies are the best i know of in today's music scene. They shine when live on stage. First Aid Kit live at Polar Music Prize is what i would suggest for people that want to check them out for the first time:)
LOVE the way Frida is totally owning this song. Agnetha is great too, but clearly taking direction. Frida is running the extra mile and it's fabulous!!!!
ABBA got me thru Alcohol and drug treatment 17years ago. My roomie in treatment and I used to dance and sing while in treatment on our down time. Thanks ABBA for helping me thru treatment.. 😘
Strong emotion, harmony, determination, professionalism, without commercial fireworks: automatic synchronization, etc. This is real, real music! I love you, ABBA!
The focus back then was on the quality of the SONG and the MUSIC. Even MTV had not yet been discovered when ABBA did their videos....or whatever people would call it back then. They were just very simple and basic skits or images to go along with the song. Years later it became officially called videos. Each ABBA song was its own little musical masterpiece. The guys wrote the songs and the girls sang them to perfection. And it was done for the love of the music. Now today....well...it's an entirely different game for an entirely different world. I'm so grateful my parents introduced me to ABBA at around age 10 or 11. In just over a month I will be 53 and still loving these people and their music. And I've been absolutely thrilled to pieces (and in tears) over their present return! How absolutely wonderful!!
@@rodneybaer4324 I know perfectly well what years you are talking about and what kind of music you are referring to. For me, ABBA is associated in my soul with the most beautiful memories related to a beautiful friendship from my teenage years when everything was pure and undefiled. ABBA has opened the door to a new world, a unique, valuable, unrepeatable universe ...
Their choice to "cone back" is genius because, like with everything else, they do it with their heart and with CLASS. Knowing ABBA and having followed them as I've been since age 11, (I'm now almost 53!!) this return has absolutely nothing to do with money $$$ or attention. They're doing it because they're artists...and old age doesn't change that. And like Benny and Bjorn already stated...they felt they had something to say...and something more to give. They may be ultra modest and humbled by their own success...maybe even a little dumbfounded by their own popularity....but they also damn well know how much they are loved and missed. They've never tried to be anything other than ABBA. They are as original and one-of-kind now as they were in the mid 70's and into the very early 80'. Those two amazing men are gifted writers and musicians. And a true writer never stops writing and a true musician never stops playing. Even when people stop listening. Don't expect so terribly much out of the new songs. They are both unique and outstanding songs....but it's in the original tradition of ABBA. And that's part of why we love them so much...even after all these many years. I am so very excited, grateful and emotionally moved over all of this. The past 3 days have been exhilarating as I listen to and observe everything ABBA. This is literally a global event in terms of music. I've never experienced anything quite like this. For one of the very few times in my life....I don't feel so alone. And I am so very happy for ABBA that this RETURN has been so well received!!
@@bennyandersson2410 Hello to you!! Thank you for the MUSIC!! I am most grateful 🙏. I visited ABBA: The Museum in April or May of 2013...when it first opened. Spent 11 wonderful days/nights at Hotel Rival!!! I truly loved my experience in Stockholm more than any other city I have ever visited! I sincerely hope to return one day soon. I love everything Swedish! I have owned 4 Volvo automobiles over the past 20 years. I presently drive my favorite Volvo...a 2018 S90 T-6 AWD. Volvo is the only car I will ever own. I also love Swedish meatballs. And Absolut Vodka. The only Swedish thing I'm not sure I like too much...to be quite honest....is the IKEA furniture. I have already pre-ordered two ABBA Voyage cd's and an ABBA Voyage sweater. And I really want so much to visit Stockholm again. But it's an expensive $$$ trip. And I will most certainly stay at Hotel Rival. I loved the location and my room and the wonderful food at the restaurant....especially the breakfast buffet each morning. @Scimmia The ABBA Team. Stig Anderson Anni-Frid Lyngstad Benny Andersson Bjorn Ulveras Agnetha Falkskog Michael Tretow Rutger Gunnarson Gorel Johnsen/Hanser ABBA were a self contained indie band that did everything themselves. They had no corporate music industry puppeteers or overlords. They were their own bosses. All the major American and British bands were tied to the corporate music establishment in some way. Not ABBA. The connected bands got the Award shows attention. The American Grammy people ignored ABBA, because ABBA did not "pay to play". They always remained independent. Music directly to the people. They made low budget music clips sent to TV program directors around the world. BOOM! ABBA TV before MTV. Today ABBA still owns and controls it all. They are the most intelligent run music pop/rock band the world has ever seen. Stig Anderson, Polar Music and manager gifted ABBA (core four) 50% percent of Polar Music by the mid 70's. The each owned X amount of shares. Since ABBA had no orporate music establishment overlords, the profits flowed directly to Polar Music. This music band also owned multiple companies that sheltered their money. Invested in diverse portfolio of Real Estate, Art, Oil, Finance, gold/silver, etc.... They sold the USSR records for barrels of oil. A great team of loyal people who did thier job. And no egos.
Not counting Swedish ace teen eco champion/ethical vegan Greta Thunberg of course! :-) ABBA is among the best popular musical groups from Sweden or anywhere.
This song is so good. It has a fantastic happy, bouncy pop tune with perfect harmonies and blended rhythms that make you want to smile and dance. Yet, the lyrics tell a tragic story of lifelong rejection, desperate loneliness, and unrequited, hopeless love. Even the line, “I’m in no hurry” carries several meanings because the speaker clearly is in a hurry, but is terrified of blowing this one last chance…but maybe there was never a chance and this is all for nothing. This song grabs you and never, ever lets go.
I enjoy most of ABBA's music, but this one is something special. I never appreciated it back in the day, as I do today. The lyrics, the layering, it's a masterpiece. I must have listened to this song a hundred times over the last year. Twice yesterday and three times today. Love it. I was born in 1960, which makes me 60yrs old. I grew up with all the best music, but ABBA is something special. Thank you ABBA for the music. Edit: I'm 63 now, and here I am, still listening to this song...and other ABBA songs. Love it.
i'm 29 and same here, my parents both loved abba and played it alllll the time. i thought it was so funny when this song was in a Malcolm in the Middle episode when i was like 7 😂 Is your mum also a child of the 1960's and had you later in life? Mine is!
Love this!! Ladies never looked or sounded better. Fellas handsome as ever.. but the true beauty lies in the talent and exuberance that Abba gave us every performance.. it is no wonder we are still listening and watching 50 years (!) later. They have only gotten better with age.. a universal treasure.. the world really is a much brighter and more joyful place with the music of Abba in it... And we sure could use some good news now.. thank you, Anni Frid, Agnetha, Bjorn, and Benny for the music and the joy. You are much loved... ❤❤
my parents were teens when this came out, they used to play a lot of ABBA in the car and here I am listening to this masterpiece feeling very nostalgic. :)
I was listening to the new and old tracks of ABBA all the way from Manchester to Falkirk last weekend both ways, which helped us all the way through the journey and we enjoyed the songs. ABBA will be enjoyed for many years to come!
It’s hard to stop at one. Like this one for instance, I didn’t remember it at first and then when I played it I said “Oh yeah I like this one too!!”🎼📀🥰🥰
I'm a metalhead from the 80s, but every now and then I need my ABBA fix. It's true what they say, there are only 2 types of people in the world: those who love ABBA and those who love ABBA but won't admit it.
They came back ,just to remind us of just how brilliant they actually were ,and what wonderful music they gave us . Thank you ABBA, we didn't forget you .
My parents are huge fans of ABBA. When I was in elementary they have a routine of artists to play every morning when when we get ready for school. Now I'm in college. Time flies. Now these are my comfort songs.
l love the girls facial expressions, especially Frida's cheekyness, in the opening few seconds. Hints that they must have had a bit of fun making this clip.
I am on a spiritual journey, and this song popped into my head. This song hit me at soul level. Singing to ME, myself, and I. 😊 Listen again, hear it how I am now hearing it. Love yourself first and most. ❤
Songfacts- Bjorn Ulvaeus enjoyed jogging and as he ran he sang a "tck-a-ch"-style rhythm to himself. This evolved into the line "Take a Chance on Me," around which he wrote the rest of the words.
Increíble como llega la inspiración para componer un tema que trascendió hasta nuestros días. "take a chance" tiene su ritmo efectivamente. ¡Excelente dato!

My Grandma would play their Gold album every chance she gets. She’s definitely a super fan, my Grandpa on the other hand loves the Eagles and Led Zeppelin, so I grew up listening to that particular era of music which in my opinion is the best decade of music followed by the 80’s.

Not only is Agnetha the finest looking pop chic ever she has a voice that puts angels to shame.this track with her two solo parts is a perfect example of this.
What makes Agnetha so pretty is that she is so natural looking. Most singers today with her level of fame get many plastic surgery procedures to look "perfect" and they end up looking like an android.
My sister would play this song every time I would visit when I was little. We would dance around the house and clean. My favorite ABBA song! My sister passed several years ago but I think of her every time I hear this song.
Ainda estamos aqui. Geração 60, 70 e 80, não podemos voltar ao passado porém podemos vivê-lo atrás da música, quem viveu essa época saberá o que estou dizendo. Novembro 2024.......
Where I'm from, there were phases where ABBA was cool, then not cool, then they became cool again - But recently I realized that ABBA NEVER stopped being cool - It''s US who were not cool enough to appreciate ABBA!
Absolutely true, friend! I think the disco backlash is one of the stupidest moments in the USA's cultural history, and it hurt not only ABBA, but many others such as the Bee Gees (who also never stopped being cool). I always keep hoping that the people who know them only for Dancing Queen will eventually find out all their other songs. Dancing Queen is an eternal classic, but they have *so many* more incredible songs that deserve to be known!
What really differentiates ABBA from other pop acts is their attention to detail. The little "'Cause you know I've got..." line is a marvelous way to transition from verse to bridge. It adds tension to the song, while providing cover to an unexpected chord shift. Simply genius.
@@suckinspongebobs Actually two. I was referring to the two women lead singers. That's very rare. The Beatles had three. I don't really count Ringo lol. Bee Gees had three and they could of had 4 if they let Andy join.

That solo Agnetha sings rings like a bell. Beautiful sound. The harmonizing of the two girls is top notch.
Is that a crimping perm ?
Happy I won't be there.😮😮😮😂❤

they are a favorite with my own mother as well :) when she turned 32 dad gave her a pirated cassette with Gold Greatest Hits :) and since then I've been an ABBA fan (I'm 30, five weeks older than my own love for this band) :)
Such a lovely tribute! You & your grandma were both blessed!
We discovered Abba through our young adult years and then cemented our devotion to them through the musical, Mama Mia!

Good Lord, I’m 82 and just discovered the genius of ABBA!
Truly better late than never. Enjoy.
I’m 34, and I’m in the same boat as you my man!

Never to late to discover such a GEM like this. I was in my 20's when I first heard this I'm 64 now! You might be 82 but it sounds like your young at heart and that's a great place to be my friend. Enjoy.
I´m 34, but i´ve known Abba since i was 4. My parents played them very often, along with Modern Talking, Bee Gees, Bad Boys Blue and so on.
I've had several beers and am sitting in front of my computer watching this. I've never been happier.
Haha nice
Everything about this is great after several beers, not to mention it sounds good sober too!

Someone played this about a month ago, out of nowhere, and I was like 'yesyesyesyes gimme more' before I even knew it was ABBA. Granted, I can never play this at parties, but, I'll just dance with myself.
Same here :)
I have been an Abba fan since 1974. I don’t know how they did it, but even today the songs sound just as fresh as ever
To get new music from them again is a dream come true

John Boutet Who the hell don't admit it?
EVERYONE loves Abba, that's the point. Some are just too scared to admit it.
John Boutet I love ABBA and I admit it, love affair for 35 years. But we had good music before them and after them, there will always be music.

Juanita!! ❤❤❤

Please checkout my Frida music lists.
The men were the musical brains behind the music while the women were the voices.
Duh!
J
Agnetha`s ok,but its Frida for me too.
Re: vocal talent and stage talent
Anni-Frid is the one that garner's respect from the music community, past and present.
Re: Agnetha
She actually started her music ambition as a writer.

Right. I guess it is also somehow in nordic culture. And what also shows level is this natural unspoiled look geting older.

The best vocal harmonies to ever come outta Sweden, for sure. There is a current modern day contender in an sisterly duo from Stockholm: First Aid Kit.

ABBA were a self contained indie band that did everything themselves.

What a legend. Love this comment!
Love it.
Brad, I think the same, thank you so much!
My Man Brad! Well said! This group is the Best of the Best! The Masters of Melody, ABBA! 👍🎶
Definitely!! WELL SAID!
@@MonRojasOfficial , thanks, Greetings from Bavaria, Germany!

I'm 75 years old and I listen to Abba every day
im a quarter of your age and i do too
That's great! Just goes to show that ABBA is a group for ALL ages!!!
I know what you mean
I am 30 years old. I grew up listening to Abba because of my mum, and everytime I listen to it I feel such a nostalgic and good feeling.. I love it.
Agnetha is so beautiful. 33 year old male here, love ABBA (no homo tho)
i'm 29 and same here, my parents both loved abba and played it alllll the time. i thought it was so funny when this song was in a Malcolm in the Middle episode when i was like 7 😂 Is your mum also a child of the 1960's and had you later in life? Mine is!

I am 93 years old and absolutely LOVE ABBA!!!!
Amen, I'm in my 70s now and still love ABBA 💘 ❤ 💕 ♥
Their music is timeless. If I make it to 93, I'll join the club.
That is awesome 👌!!!
Hope you're doing well! :D
Walter you absolute LEGEND!!!!!
my parents were teens when this came out, they used to play a lot of ABBA in the car and here I am listening to this masterpiece feeling very nostalgic. :)
Same boat here! I think Muriels Wedding movie for me reenfotced my love for this ground breaking music of our forefathers!
But was it on an 8 track player?
Me too, my mom grew up in Poland in the 1970's and ABBA was very popular their, I can relate a lot to the nostalgia of all of it.
They help me start my day, good music great vibe so equal great day. Thanks Abba.
I was listening to the new and old tracks of ABBA all the way from Manchester to Falkirk last weekend both ways, which helped us all the way through the journey and we enjoyed the songs. ABBA will be enjoyed for many years to come!
Me: just one Abba song before bed.
Me two hours later: just one more...
It’s midnight.
It’s hard to stop at one. Like this one for instance, I didn’t remember it at first and then when I played it I said “Oh yeah I like this one too!!”🎼📀🥰🥰
You have a man before midnight
Yeah, it really do be like that

Abba is the GOAT for real. Start listening when I was in primary school from the movie Johnny English. Now I'm 26, their music is timeless.
They still rock.. Their music is still great and it still makes me happy!
This song was covered by Erasure, and "I Have a Dream" was covered by Cristy Lane

ABBA will never get old.
We need a movie biopic of them!
All 4 of them are almost 80 years old now.
I'm a metalhead from the 80s, but every now and then I need my ABBA fix. It's true what they say, there are only 2 types of people in the world: those who love ABBA and those who love ABBA but won't admit it.
Same here! There is a reason for so many metal bands covering ABBA songs. The songs are catchy but not cheap and the vocal harmonies are amazing
Right on!!!!
3:40 That moment when Ben gets up and goes after her IT'S SO CUTE I CANT
I KNOW! This video is sooo cute
I never tire of watching that part.
The dear Magda of Jarzebska is not the only one who has noted that 'special moment' ... where Benny 'chases' Anni-Frid.
Considering how very beautiful Frida looked in this video (she's always been beautiful anyway), are you surprised Benny went after her like that?
I love that part it's my favorite part of the video
You're never too young or too old to become instant fans of these 4 superstars
Didn't start liking them til I was 54, when my daughter was in Mamma Mia
EPIC❤️🥰
As a 15 years old who loves them since probably the age of 8 I can confirm.
I’m a 17 year old who got into them because of my mom
They came back ,just to remind us of just how brilliant they actually were ,and what wonderful music they gave us .
Thank you ABBA, we didn't forget you .

My parents are huge fans of ABBA. When I was in elementary they have a routine of artists to play every morning when when we get ready for school. Now I'm in college. Time flies. Now these are my comfort songs.
If songs make you happy regardless of your mood, it’s a sign that music is a masterpiece.
ABBA nemá chybu. Škoda že se tak brzy rozpadly. Provázely mne celým mým mládím a nikdy na ne nezapomenu.
l love the girls facial expressions, especially Frida's cheekyness, in the opening few seconds. Hints that they must have had a bit of fun making this clip.

4 people who were born to get together and make some of the best music the world has ever heard. God, I love Abba.
Damn straight. A band can't release hit after hit after hit after hit without some serious inherent talent.
I am on a spiritual journey, and this song popped into my head. This song hit me at soul level. Singing to ME, myself, and I. 😊 Listen again, hear it how I am now hearing it. Love yourself first and most. ❤

Bjorn Ulvaeus enjoyed jogging and as he ran he sang a "tck-a-ch"-style rhythm to himself. This evolved into the line "Take a Chance on Me," around which he wrote the rest of the words.
Increíble como llega la inspiración para componer un tema que trascendió hasta nuestros días. "take a chance" tiene su ritmo efectivamente. ¡Excelente dato!
This song is 100 beats per minute (or 200 if you beat the 8th notes). Good luck running to it. You're either walking or in a dead sprint.
@@jasonroth4055 some folks brains are relentllessly racing so throw something like a repetitive jog at it and it will be doing exactly this.

I'M 62 & had an ABBA album in high school. Haven't listened to them since. Now, I'm amazed at the talent & beauty. Frida is a truly amazing woman.

In hard times like these, in corona-induced quarantines all over the world, ABBA can cheer us all up!
Here's to ABBA and their timeless music! Let's sing and frolic:
If you change your mind
I'm the first in line
Honey, I'm still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know
Gonna be around
If you've got no place to go
When you're feeling down
If you're all alone
When the pretty birds have flown
Honey, I'm still free
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best
And it ain't no lie
If you put me to the test
If you let me try
Take a chance on me
That's all I ask of you, honey
Take a chance on me
We can go dancing (oh)
We can go walking (yeah)
As long as we're together (long as we're together)
Listen to some music (oh)
Maybe just talking (yeah)
Get to know you better (get to know you better)
'Cause you know I've got
So much that I wanna do
When I dream I'm alone with you, it's magic
You want me to leave it there
Afraid of a love affair, but I think you know
That I can't let go
If you change your mind
I'm the first in line
Honey, I'm still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know

Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best
And it ain't no lie
If you put me to the test
If you let me try
Take a chance on me
Come on, give me a break, will you?
Take a chance on me
Oh, you can take your time, baby (oh)
I'm in no hurry (yeah)
Know I'm gonna get you (know I'm gonna get you)
You don't wanna hurt me (oh)
Baby, don't worry (yeah)
I ain't gonna let you (I ain't gonna let you)
Let me tell you now
My love is strong enough
To last when things are rough, it's magic
You say that I waste my time
But I can't get you off my mind, no, I can't let go
'Cause I love you so
If you change your mind
I'm the first in line

Best harmony ever? I think so.
My Grandma would play their Gold album every chance she gets. She’s definitely a super fan, my Grandpa on the other hand loves the Eagles and Led Zeppelin, so I grew up listening to that particular era of music which in my opinion is the best decade of music followed by the 80’s.

ABBA is the best thing that happened to Music History... This is my favourite ABBA song by the way
Their songs sound so good, decades later. The test of true musicianship.
I love their energy. Especially the redhead one. She is always dancing and smiling and also she is fine as wine.
Are you high? HERMAN'S HERMITS is the best thing to happen to music history! HELEN REDDY would be second.
Not only is Agnetha the finest looking pop chic ever she has a voice that puts angels to shame.this track with her two solo parts is a perfect example of this.
@@RM-xk6iu indeed!
and still her voice sounds like angels from god 😍😍😍😍😍
Put Angels to shame? Whast?
What makes Agnetha so pretty is that she is so natural looking. Most singers today with her level of fame get many plastic surgery procedures to look "perfect" and they end up looking like an android.
Love her 🥰
Abba forever!!!👏👏🫶❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
My sister would play this song every time I would visit when I was little. We would dance around the house and clean. My favorite ABBA song! My sister passed several years ago but I think of her every time I hear this song.

US is a child of Europe ,recent history and culture.
Amen!!
@@FernieCanto You have an amazing taste. I also love Abba and the Beegees. They're amazing
Some of the finest music ever. I don't think they ever made a ''bad'' song, every one's worth listening to and so pleasant. 🙂

What really differentiates ABBA from other pop acts is their attention to detail. The little "'Cause you know I've got..." line is a marvelous way to transition from verse to bridge. It adds tension to the song, while providing cover to an unexpected chord shift.
Simply genius.
Not to mention the slip into a serious disco groove during that bridge. Brilliant.
Chris Sennfelder OK OK
