I agree, I'm from the early 2000s and I consume much more music from my parents' era than from my own era, the most recent songs on my playlist are from 2016/17 and some from the times of the pandemic, few songs from current affairs are profound and convey a relevant message.

I love that the guy who actually liked her paid attention, "Only boys that save their pennies make my rainy day" He stopped spending a lot of money to buy her material things and brought her somewhere quiet that she could appreciate. He saw she already has money, objects, fame, but what she stopped having was peace of mind and he found a way to peak her interest by giving her flowers you could find on the side of a road and getting an old truck. He paid attention to her and did exactly what she wanted from someone. Because all anyone with everything wants is nothing at all.
