My divorce was relief. But the relationship after my wife the end broke my heart forever. ABBA lyrics are direct and they wrote somgs they liked for them and not the public. Today they stand as the number 3 band for all time sales. Apparently it is predicted they may be number one eventually
Yep. I have just listened top it about 15 times on repeat because I haven't heard it much since childhood and the composition and performances are incredible. Plus, now I am old enough and have seen enough to know what the song is on about. ha ha
You might have also said 'accessibility' for 'simplicity' because what I think you mean is that you IDENTIFY with the emotions, the looks, the sounds in this pop video. They are clearly true to life. The ladies' expressions are not forced or exaggerated. Abba represented sincerity in the music industry, in their actual art - and, that, paradoxically takes a lot of courage. That's as true then as it is now. Thankfully the Internet age came after Abba. However, a lot of hard work has gone into making this pop video and getting its look right. In the 70s, with only a few TV channels and terrestrial television only, no video tape recorders yet, limited broadcasting on only one or two weekly programmes, along with much smaller budgets, the desire to make something nice was paramount: but how genuinely connected young people were then because they had all watched the same channel, the same band or pop video the night before!
ABBA is one of the greatest artists of times . They harmonize really beautifully just like The Bee Gees ! Both are the best. I’m glad I was around during that time period.

This song, this exact song, is perfection. The vocals, the quality of the sound, the musicians, the talent in every respect to put this together. Decades pass by and this is still one amazing song.
That's what we call litteraly a timeless song... The tune, the lyrics, the singers all contribute to get a simple song into a song no one will forget even decades pass as you say....
That guitar strumming that sounds every time they say "knowing you" is a clear example of their level. It may seem something simple but using a counterpoint that way, breaking the rhythmic 4/4 pattern, is something that most bands won't do often, specially today.
Absolutely agree, it's full of such genuine emotion and has a lot going on, yet still manages to feel harmonious. Genuinely great music, probably their best music IMO.
Elise Walker 'complemented' actually. Common spelling mistake. Like 'stationary' and 'stationery'. I think Abba surprised even themselves. The two ladies were originally backing singers for Benny and Björn, in 1970. Apart from Agnetha, they were touching thirty-years-old when they sprung 'Waterloo' on the Anglosphere in '74. In those intervening years, their persistence ultimately paid dividends: how excited they must have been to figure out that although English was not their native language, they could still make a huge impact. They worked out their sound.
in 2024 I am here and thinking that how lucky those people on that time. no internet , no rush , no social media , no mental mess and mental fatigue , nice , melodic musics... respect between people , nice , longlife friendships and relationships... such nice times...

Love the snow scenery shots reminds me of my Canadian winter, love their music ABBA always keeps me warm in the cold months
They perfected singing in harmony. No autoune or lip syncing. This is what real music sounds like.
You got that right
U get the point.
This is perfect music engineering.
@@rogerjohansen9270 damn right!

Lyrically, as dark as anything you would hear in punk or metal, and they wrap it all up in that honeyed sound. Beautiful, and not a lick of age on it.
That’s called real music.

ABBA music is timeless! Am I wrong when I say ABBA was ahead of their time? This song is one of ABBA masterpiece. I listen to it almost everyday. I swear! Frida's voice is simply perfect and when she and Agnetha sing together it seems my heart will jump out of my chest. ABBA is simply wonderful.
You are definitely not wrong.
All their music is legacy
So true!!
Leblon Ocean sorry I accendently pressed thum down
Sorry I accedently pressed thumbs down
What most beautiful women with angelic voices.
Divorce is the death of a marriage and it can hurt like hell. Give yourself a chance to process the grief. This song is perfectly written
Wonderful band, simply adore this girls awesome band
hey Suzanne perhaps thats why never marriages any body also dont no love
@@robertalbrethsen5392 aw cant be that cynical. Love can be a great way to pass the time.
My divorce was relief. But the relationship after my wife the end broke my heart forever. ABBA lyrics are direct and they wrote somgs they liked for them and not the public. Today they stand as the number 3 band for all time sales. Apparently it is predicted they may be number one eventually
Perfect divorce song
This song is so fucking good. All of ABBA's songs are SO GOOD. WHY IS IT SO PERFECT.
Потому, что это АББА!
Because of excellent songwriting and superb band chemistry
I absolutely agree with you. Who can’t put every song on replay. BTW- love this video
Judging by the frequent Cyrillic comments, Abba has a lot of Russian fans too.
Yep. I have just listened top it about 15 times on repeat because I haven't heard it much since childhood and the composition and performances are incredible. Plus, now I am old enough and have seen enough to know what the song is on about. ha ha
The simplicity of this video is what makes it so memorable and heart-wrenching. Probably their most famous video out of all of them.
+Dustshoe Yes! I totally agree!
Adoro a vossa muzica eu sou do vosso tempo
..probably Ella..
..my whole world caved in when Agnetha became involved w/the stalking fork lift driver...wtf?!
I will be listening to Abba till I take my last breath!....Much love to all❤😊
Beautiful
The most mature break up song I've ever heard, and I love it.
Michael MacLeod probably why despite their divorces .Agnetha and Bjourn still respect each other.
Even Benny and Frida maintain cordial relations.
@@hawaali4115 they have kids together
Efosa Odaro yeah they have kids together.

Agnetha and Frida are what angels look like. This band will never get old ❤️
Frida!!!
I like agnehta nice woman and man likes agnetha more than frida but frida is too pretty
Anni-Frid more better Agneta. Man likes Anni-Frid. She is Princess, she is still loved. Agneta alone.
This has to be one of the greatest songs ever recorded in the whole world of music
I Don't Care What Anyone Says And Thinks, This Is Absolutely One Of Abba's Beautiful And Legendary And Timeless And Best Songs 🤩🙌🏿.
This video so very well fit the song! I grew up with ABBA and even all these long years later most of their songs still touch me deeply!
ABBA is one of the greatest artists of times . They harmonize really beautifully just like The Bee Gees ! Both are the best. I’m glad I was around during that time period.
Abba payed huge attention to their vocal recordings like very few pop band did. Their backing vocals are heavenly. Both girls can reach very high.
Their voices individually are incredible.
Their voices harmonizing together creates❤ Magic!
is annoying music

@@terryc.3390 I love ABBA!! ❤ I really can't be in a bad mood with ABBA playing. Over 40 years and Timeless fun music!! Erasure covered a few ABBA songs. Well done covers! I would love to know ABBA thinks of anyone covering their music? For ABBA critics I wonder what they could consider good music!

You explained it well "whyallwaysme46"!
It is a Masterpiece

I am here & I love Abba forever ❤️
Their voices, as wonderful as they are individually, are just pure beauty when blended!
Why so perfect?
The voices are incredible, covering a great range.
Im convinced the way their voices blended is the total reason for their success, it was joy, beauty and emotion perfectly blended!
There's something special about Abba songs. The musical arrangements, the lyrics and those two heavenly voices. Whenever I listen to Abba, I feel that the song is...how do I put it...SINGING. No other band or individual has been able to replicate the Abba sound. They're a class apart.
I am listening for the umpteenth time to these ABBA songs from Nigeria. I will never get tired listening to them. I am in Nigeria relaxing,at almost 76years of age, looking back those good old days. Today is 18th Sept 2023. ABBA made our days as young students. ABBA still makes my day any day.
Thanks my friend. I'm listening this music in 2023 Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire
Never realized this music reached that far!

This song proves that love is a fleeting memory and to enjoy it whilst it lasts. Having just been infomed that my young sister has breasr cancer and a masectomy and chemo beckons love each other and God bless you and take care of each other Angela x
Abba is pure magic..grew up hearing them. Now growing old hearing them
The chorus (and the entire song) is pure gold.
Sad ABBA did not continue to succeed, like some old bands that are still singing!
I agree with every single word. My favourite ever since!
I couldn't have said it better. The video was perfect !!!
ABBA will always always always be great!
That guitar strumming that sounds every time they say "knowing you" is a clear example of their level. It may seem something simple but using a counterpoint that way, breaking the rhythmic 4/4 pattern, is something that most bands won't do often, specially today.
well said
One of my favourite songs ever. The harmony still gives me goosebumps till this day.
Lo más hermoso q an visto mis ojos.😍😘
ABBA = The greatest Harmonies in Pop history!
Abba´s arrangements are absolutely beatiful and perfect ! And their voices are miles ahead from anyone else !
What about The Bee Gees, Earth, Wind and Fire, and many others? Redbone, for example.
Esto sí eran canciones de verdad
Their harmonies are great, no question. So are Elton John's.
And what about The Beach Boys??
The harmony and overlaying of vocals is just masterful.😊
Agreed. The vocals and instrumentals are masterful. Lyrics are questionable 🇺🇸😎
Hot take: this song’s chorus has the best ABBA harmonies. So many unnoticed layers ✨
The progression is incredible
Agreed!! Probably my favorite ABBA song!
Absolutely agree, it's full of such genuine emotion and has a lot going on, yet still manages to feel harmonious. Genuinely great music, probably their best music IMO.
Probably my favorite ABBA song, but always makes me feel sad
Les paso a ellos una situacion parecida a la letra de esa cancion.Apartevnos hacen recordar nuestra juventud que ya se fue hace tiempo
It's a breakup song, so it's normal that it communicates a feeling of sadness.
Play Dancing Queen right afterwards. It will perk you up.
I know! Sometimes when I listen to Abba,I cry.Why is that?
@@katekleinsteuber7652 it happens to me when I listen Slipping through my fingers. I'm not a woman, not a parent, but the sentiment reaches me.
They complimented each other, like it was all meant to be. I wish they were still together. Their music will never end, ever.
I think they’re reuniting in 2018 for a tour or concert with r something idk

No singing group of any era can compare to ABBA ❤

I think Heart put up a hell of a fight for that title
Cindy and Kate from the B-52's are up there and are almost a knock off of ABBA when you think about it. The girls do all the singing in the B-52's and the guys sing only once in a while. Both are Great bands and great songs also.
