GM was very hesitant about my zero sales experience and family obligations, asking me "I'm just concerned about what happens if you have bad days." Do you know what I said? I said "I don't intend to have bad days. Besides, I know ALOT of truck guys." That floored him and he just goes "yeah, youre gonna do just fine." and I walked out with a job. 35 years old. Single dad to 3 kids who live with me. Injured in a truck accident in 2022. 10 years in the trucking industry, couldn't risk a more severe accident taking me away from my kids. Started at my local Ford dealership last week. Doing all the computer training now. I'll report back in a year how it's going. Right now, im just hoping to match the 60K I was bringing home from my trucking job.

Use being young to your advantage. Equip yourself with knowledge of your product and competitors, apply experiences and be confident. I’m 5 years in the game and I feel like I’ve done about 8/10 the last few years. Going to kick it up another level after watching this video. Always gotta go back to the drawing board and see what you can improve. Sometimes we fall back in to old habits.

I’ve never been in car sales but I know pretty much everything there is to know about cars from growing up working on and fixing them. So I imagine that would help tremendously when learning to be a salesman. Love the video!❤️
@@danyacosta8629 You're mistaken. Product knowledge is indispensable. I've flat-out refused to buy vehicles from salespeople who know nothing about cars. I find the person who has car posters in his cube. And guess what? Those are the guys who are the top salespeople. I loathe car dealers because when you ask them a question and they don't know the answer, they spout whatever comes up in their heads.

I'm not even a car salesman, I'm an apprentice construction worker and my friend/foreman got me the job with NO experience. He himself practiced every one of these tips in his life (he taught himself, desperately wanting better for himself) and in turn I watched and learned from him teaching me. Again, I'm not a car salesman but every one of the tips applies to EVERY JOB IN LIFE. I used to put friends and family before work, until my life started to change when I decided "If I work hard and better myself, then I can provide more for others". Lo and behold, as I shut my mouth anf focused on being the best apprentice possible, my life and friends started to change ALL for the better. Even the non-car salesman, pay attention to this. My friend taught me this new attitude before I even came across this video looking to become a car salesman myself- it WORKS. Both my friend and I are livin PROOF. He's been a foreman for years and he's 2 years younger than me, yet I still look up to him as somewhat of a father figure.

@@JamesTiro currently working at a furniture store and we are having inventory issues. My manager told us “sell what you have”. Doesn’t matter what it is, if you have it, sell. If you don’t have it, find a way to make the sale.

I be so curious how many of these " I sold 20 cars in my first week" comments be cap I played pro basketball overseas and started selling cars 2 years ago when I got back from Germany and I've been the top salesman at Nissan for over a year straight and I've never sold 20 cars in a week. That's 4 a day... We have 7 salesman here and I sell about 25-30 cars a month and nobody ever sells more than me. 20 a week is 80 fucking cars a month that's NUTS

@@JamesTiro currently working at a furniture store and we are having inventory issues. My manager told us “sell what you have”. Doesn’t matter what it is, if you have it, sell. If you don’t have it, find a way to make the sale.

What happens when the dealership gives no direction? It’s my first day as a car salesman but have experience in sales from other employment. Is it normal for it to be this way? The onboarding hasn’t been the greatest either.

I played pro basketball overseas and started selling cars 2 years ago when I got back from Germany and I've been the top salesman at Nissan for over a year straight and I've never sold 20 cars in a week. That's 4 a day...
We have 7 salesman here and I sell about 25-30 cars a month and nobody ever sells more than me. 20 a week is 80 fucking cars a month that's NUTS
