Yes - the Pig will be much happier with an 850cc...never having seen a Reliant in person (Aussie) I actually thought all the Regals had those after about 1964, but it was introduced much later.
it is probably why someone else gave up with it specialist parts oly available off shore as this was not a common model in the UK not available through the usual parts dumps parts alliance/ NAPA / Euro
Depends really the 1.9 straight D is the best reliability wise . The 1.9 dci can be a bit troublesome but most of it’s fairly simple to sort . 1.6 petrol a hood engine just depends what you want really 👍

You know, if you sounded a bit more Lincolnshire, you're exactly what the voice in my head would sound like while I'm working on cars. Also, if you check the angles, that top quality exhaust rear section clearly comes out by the back wheel and exits as a stack on the offside so as not to block the side loader, well, probably, maybe.

The 850 reliant gearbox has the clutch release the other way round,push rather than pull
