If no one wants the complete vehicle for spares, I'd definitely save the engine (me personally would leave the gearbox on so it's a whole powertrain) as they're fitted to numerous things and you can sell them all day even with oil leaks (was it a rotted oil filter that blew when pressurised?) for reasonable money (we sell a few Perkins engines every year (eastern europe, africa, asia even south america) even "blown" and worn out units as core units for refurbishment, people love how easy they are to work on/with).

I only learned about these 50 series vans yesterday, have been into Dodge B vans (usa) since I was… probably conceived in one 😅. There is so much thats familiar here, the starter even sounds the same as the old v-8 starters, the fenders are remarkably close to the 71-78 ones, the doors are just modified B van ones. Amazing that diesel started, well done.

I was laughing when you were trying to start it. The manual strangler caught many a person out lol. I drove a Reynolds Boughton RB 44 miles into a glen to collect two burnt out cars. The drivers door departed with part of the A pillar. That was a amazing wreaker. We put a 200thd 2 door discovery body shortened over the engine We were having a shed party P155ED as farts. Made it work It was pug ugly. Good old days.

We ran these vans years ago on the plant repairs game, yours is the round headlamp model with the Perkins 4236 or 4248 with a 4 speed Spicer box. The facelift model had square headlights with the Perkins Phaser Aluminium top cover Engine with Turbo and the Turner T5 box. The body’s were the same, some with double back doors and some with Roller Shutters as ours did but with a side door behind the passengers door. Good workhorses and would start any weather, just really heavy on fuel.

I just tried going onto that site for the jump pack but it doesn't seem to work in the UK.
Not from there official site anyway.
If that jump pack started that old girl it must be a bloody handy bit if kit.
My snap-on one I carrying my recovery truck is meant to start most things but its not much cop to be honest.
    3 jumps tops its flat.
I got the big boy jumper but that one looks good for everyday use on cars I'd thought.
