I've arrived here via Matt and his lovely W123 which will receive some love and help from your goodself! Absolutely LOVE the Peugeot, old Peugeots are just fantastic and even before I was born, my grandparents tore around Botswana in the 70s in Peugeot 404s and 504s. I despise the current Peugeots so this is nourishing for the soul being an avid petrol head. Most people would see this as hopeless junk, I see it a car wanting to be brought back to life awesome video and new subscriber from Chester.
Having a clear out he says…whilst instantly replacing the camper with another long term project you’ll likely never have a chance to do 🤣 - I bet your mrs just rolls her eyes now lol
Bought a 305 he says, my immediate thought was for the floorpan to fix the van! Wrong! Well it actually sounds sweet once it was running. Amazing that people park cars up and leave them for 30 odd years. Great vid Al.
Well that is just fantastic. A man after my own heart. Delighted to see that. Nothing like witnessing an abandoned hedgehog coming back to life. Fair play.
My dad had the saloon one in 1987 it was two years old .he never had it long .it over heated badly. the radiator and water pump went at same time. he couldn't find those parts anywere in the UK. they weren't that common back then .he sold it to young guy that had rusted out one ready with parts lol
See why they loved these in North Africa, particularly the diesel ones. Bombproof simple engineering that works. “Self lightening” got me going again😂😊
just love the videos and the wiltshire acent but most of what you say is lost because your microphone need to be replaced for a better one.. thanks alan,
you out done yourself again Al , the moment you said it turns by hand it was a dead cert it was gonna run , this old stuff just dont ever seam to fail clean the carb ,tweek the points and it will run , top quality video as always just the sounds a bit rubbish at times but hey ho thanks for the content and the giggles
Al I've just discovered your channel and this is a candidate for a patina restoration. Someone who has the time could make it into a decent little runner. Good video bud.
Al 6D Diesels, is there no vehicle on planet earth that you can’t throw a battery on and wave your spanner’s at, give a squirt of the old go go juice and it’s alive? Don’t matter it’s condition, the amount of years it’s been neglected or even if a few parts are missing guaranteed you’ll get it running. Love your knowledge on anything engine related. Keep on entertaining us with your videos.
Amusing video as always !. An interesting find. I thought it was good to hear the engine suddenly crank much faster on the same battery supply - possible the starter motor brushes has finally met the commutator properly ?!. Keep up the good work Al.
Great video but i dont do pugs now everyone ive had the cylinder heads always went so i stay away from them now due to that fact,The clylinder heads are verry weak and keep going..anyways rhanks for sharing and see you in your next video.
What an amazing bit of chod. Chapeau El Capitan. I had an ex taxi diesel one of these in the early 90s. was a Ph2 though. Truly terrible and great simultaneously. A360KKB
Looks like a great project for someone as i think it may just sit in the yard awaiting your attention like so many other projects im not having a dig or oat iv just got my sensible head on today PS loving the content cheers bud 👏👏👌👌🤝🤝👍🏻👍🏻
Firm my dad worked for ran a fleet of 305s. Dad someone negotiated a Sierra, but it wasn't unknown for a 305 to turn up occasionally while the Sierra was being serviced/fixed. They seemed so old fashioned to me (in the late 80s) and the old boy hated them. I think they were C/D Reg 305 GRDs
Fair play love the videos have a similar car that has been lying for 34 years not started was pulled from headge to,its a vw 412 LE 1.7 fuel injection 😂
Please save it. I have a huge soft spot for a 305 sr. Dad bought one, from that very dealer, and the building still stands but now a bmw bike dealer. Could it be a sole survivor.
My dad had one of this when I was a kid, god he hated it lol it was only a few years old at the time and kept braking down, I think it was 1.6 petrol and was gutless, he used to pass everyone on a downhill section of the motorway then everyone passed us again as soon as it hit a hill. FWY 112T think it was the same colour. (I remember all the reg numbers of my dads cars as I grew up but can’t remember my own)

Could do with a few of your parts to keep mine alive if you're in the uk
Well done indeed, thought this one would be too far gone even for you to wake up!
I'm lovin' this channel, your enthusiasm is wonderful Al.
Blimey an early 204 engined pre 1984 facelift 305 estate! Ace!! 👍👍

Bought a 305 he says, my immediate thought was for the floorpan to fix the van! Wrong! Well it actually sounds sweet once it was running. Amazing that people park cars up and leave them for 30 odd years. Great vid Al.
Original plan was for the floor pans !! That might have changed and I think I’ve found some new ones
Well that is just fantastic. A man after my own heart. Delighted to see that. Nothing like witnessing an abandoned hedgehog coming back to life. Fair play.
Always a joy to watch you Al, whatever you are doing! 🤣

Another little gem saved! Always liked those Peugeot interiors.
Great video. Keep up the great work Al

The headliner is still better than my MK5 Golf. 😞
See why they loved these in North Africa, particularly the diesel ones. Bombproof simple engineering that works. “Self lightening” got me going again😂😊
My late uncle Ronnie had an n reg 75 model back in around 1980/81 he hated it called it an effin pig.😅lol
Great channel AL, really like your videos , could watch a lot more, very interesting
Another fantastic video Al, so, so watchable.👍👍
Such a lovely car, the 305 estate. And as an extra a Peugeot J5 van. I like those almost as much as the old Mercedes vans (Dusseldorfer and Bremer).
Be great to see what you do with this old pug Al 👀👍👍
Top quality character.😂😆👍
Good cars very good engine
Good wan, out with the petrol heart and in with a 1.9xud, class job, comfy seats , used to drive them years ago in van form, great find.
Xud won't fit the mk.1 engine bay chassis.. the mk.2 305s were heavily modified to take the xud.. mice idea though.
Absolutely cracking!
just love the videos and the wiltshire acent but most of what you say is lost because your microphone need to be replaced for a better one.. thanks alan,

What are we going to do in this country when we run out of top mechanics like you Al. Not many about who would have got that started 👍👍
Ah we’ll all have electric cars …. Don’t worry that won’t be a rubbish and world ruining idea !!! 👍
Spot on Al 👍

Bloody hell Al, that was easy!
Hired a 305 for a few days back in the 80’s, I remember it as a very comfortable car, nice to drive too. Covered around 300 miles in 4 days.
The break 305's rear suspension was amazing.
Fair play love the videos have a similar car that has been lying for 34 years not started was pulled from headge to,its a vw 412 LE 1.7 fuel injection 😂
That’s a rare beats fella 👍
Yea she is 1.7 fuel injection need to find parts for it tho not shure we're tho grate videos btw👍

Please save it. I have a huge soft spot for a 305 sr. Dad bought one, from that very dealer, and the building still stands but now a bmw bike dealer. Could it be a sole survivor.
