You seem to have a nose for finding gems masquerading as boxes of nastiness. I just love your approach. Tickle them under the chin , pat them on the head, rub their tummy and give them a good wash then regime them. Just brilliant😂
Al , I absolutely love your expressions , plus you're a spot-on mechanic , always a joy to watch your videos , keep 'em coming please , have a great half a week
Absolutely classic. You deserve a bit of good news Al. The Kangoo's gonna be a classic in your very capable hands. I love the Stevie Wonder fitted exhaust !!!
That's a great but Al. I've only recently found your channel, I really enjoy your style of presenting. You're depth of knowledge is fantastic. Thank you.
What a flippin brilliant presenter. No fake shit. If you're not too busy i'd like you to swap over my crappy Lucas fuel pump to a Bosch one on my DW8 1.9 Peugeot Partner
Drive a 16 reg 110 1.5 diesel Renault captur now road tax free for life very good reason to look after it . Ps love your channel keep this content up please
The sheer artisanal bodgerology of that exhaust system leaves me lost in admiration 😂 I couldn't have done better if I was a native of an as yet undiscovered Amazonian tribe.
I just cant get my head around the pure bodging of the exhaust repair! Great deduction in the fuel saga. Engine sounds good apart from exhaust! Nice work Al. Looking forward to a video with said van and green paint jumping off!
When we was up at Ryan's and it drove past you got all excited. Your comment was I'm having that, it's going to be mine. That's more an Al form of transportation than a Peugeot. You can throw tools and spares in the back and go across the fields to do more barn finds.😂
I’m in the village (6D), didn’t realise you had a RUclips channel. It’s only right that I like and subscribe. Might book my van in with you because of an oil leak if that’s alright?
Brilliant and inspired purchase Al, and yet another great video! You‘ve proven that it doesn’t need something as big as an Iceberg to sink a ship, a tiny fleck of old rubber can be just as efective - the skill is in knowing where to look, and you have that skill in spades ! Not even going to mention the exhaust, save to say, tw4t bodgery at its‘ finest. Once again, she’ll be a good ‘un once you’ve givenb her a sprinkle of Al‘s expert Unicorn dust loking forward to the next one Keep ’em comin‘ JCHK
I bought 2 of these (MPV not Van) brand new, in Spain, in 2004 and again in 2007. We filmed all over Europe in them, including 2000miles in Morocco - you could get 4 crew and all the gear in them, more than 2 Freelanders the first one replaced. Surprisingly capable off road (better than the Landys with their weak little clutches), brilliant in the snow, only defeated by sand where we had to use sand ladders. I couldn't get the 1.9 diesel as they stopped making it - they couldn't make it Euro IV compliant. The 16V 1.6 petrol was eager but thirsty and a bit underpowered, naturally, but tough nonetheless. Utilitarian but comfortable with a simple air con, that blew ice cold, better than the fancy climate control in my Audi. I fitted Parrot BT and Tom Tom - fancy at the time. Here people would laugh at you looking like Postman Pat - in Spain no one did -The forestry fire department had fleets of them then. One of the few vehicles the Guardia Civil would let you pass on snow covered blocked mountain roads, without snow chains too. The first one my camera assistant totalled and the second smashed the gearbox bottoming out on rough terrain. They have plates under the main components but not tough enough it seemed.
@@diogofaustino4348 They were great vehicles, and I'd buy one tomorrow, if they still made them. The first one I collected in the Renault showroom could have been a Range Rover, for all I knew then, such was the sense of occasion.
@@CUTproductionsLtd yeah I flew to Scotland to buy my first one but apparently it didn't like the 8 hour motorway drive back home and the engine top end starved itself from oil, so within a couple of weeks, another one came up with half the mileage and in the same colour. Obviously I had to pull the trigger and the first one is now not only a donor but an experimental vehicle. Because there aren't any workshop manuals out there, I try to undo the parts on the first one so I don't mess up the daily😂 Now thinking about doing a F4R swap into it as the K4M is definitely not up to anything other than flat surfaces. I've been spotted holding down traffic going into second on uphill bits around here😂
Hi Al great video as always mate. I tell you what mate even with the few jobs you've got to do to the Kangoo and obviously the bit of money you've got to spend, that was one cheap little van! Those little 4x4 turbo diesel Kangoo's are brilliant little tools if looked after, which now in your care it obviously will be. Brilliant mate well done...👍🙂👍
Great work, you show why youre and diesel expert, i dont mind petrols to work on but diesels are not fun to fault find and i have 3 of them at the moment.
I love these vans I bought one with 200k miles for £600 few years ago now drove it to and throw from Spain did 270k and sold it for what paid for it £600 injectors seals were leaking back fuel to tank overnight had to easy start it every morning
A van-eating neighbour (he goes through them like in about 3 a year) had a vivaro a couple years back with that kind of no-start but fired on "supplements" issue, dunno if it was that issue, but the mechanics that took it away had it running and running in no time, once they hammered the brakes free, filled the tyres and drove it onto the back of their loader, they were probably laughing, probably the same guys who took his Caddy away last week too, he's not good with looking after things, or, you know, taking them to a garage to be fixed... :P
I can tell ya from experience that easysniff will drowned her ,the best sniff is a brand called HEET. you lucky duck that less cheese reno starter is a sweet one, good video. Im surprised you didnt find a score jubileed clipped to the cherrybomb to get her throught the mot😂😂😂😂
Hello from Cape Town,South Africa.Ive got the 1.6i petrol version .the diff and prop shaft were removed by previous owner. Any idea where I can get replacement parts to restore 4x4? Car is in excellent condition.
I had one of these.....amazed me off road (long time Landrover enthusiast)......Just a note....I had a front wheel bearing giving it some whine....and I went to Renault and asked how much to fix. F*ckin hell. it was $$$$$$$$$....turns out that as you will see the front suspension and bearings/works etc are not the same as normal and are one off specials.....the wheel bearing is huge, bigger than a Landrover wheelbearing (I was renovating a Series Landrover at the same time). So Huge wheel bearings = Huge price....(I bought a bearing press and did it myself)....bearing was pricey at Renault, but I went to my local bearing supplier and it was about half the Renault price.
It’s just been overhauled sadly the valve rest stop wasn’t set right . Sorted that this morning she now stay where it should and it does have locks too 👍
I had one for 6 months a friend owned it and the head gasket went, so it sat for a while in the works car park. I gave him £20 for it and had the engine fixed and a new m o t put on later the screen cracked and when the glass was taken out the metal came with it, so ended up scrapping it.
What parts are hard to come by for these? Assume most are interchangeable with a standard kangoo. Is it just the suspension that would be a bigger to source?
Lots all the lower arms coils arb parts , drive shafts, starter motors is different due to the transfer case plus the exhaust system is a one off for the 4x4 👍
Fantastic Video, as always.
One thing: watch out with that 2-post lift, its leaking and letting down. Check the timelapse. 😳

you got to love the exhaust layout
Great video, that exhaust, thats 10 out 10 for bodging 😂. Good to have you back.
Respect to the diesel 👑
In these days of not very much fun going on , you do make me laugh! . Your work and banter is refreshing and oddly captivating
Never knew they did a 4x4 kangoo lol, well I've seen one now .
I love a fix like that where other people have given up trying to fault find .
That's a great but Al. I've only recently found your channel, I really enjoy your style of presenting. You're depth of knowledge is fantastic.

Jeez that exhaust shocking Al 😮😂

Forestry Komission Capt.Al 🌲
Bought one of these Kangoo Trekkas new back in 2002, regret selling it. Check out my early videos for soft roading in it. Loved it.
I have 1.9td kangoo trekka 4x4 and I’ve got to say I love it haven’t got stuck yet lol👍
Am I mistaken, but wasn't the "clip" holding the cherry bomb up the clip for the cv joint boot?
was i going crazy or was that lift dropping very slowly while you was under it doing the starter motor im sure i could see it slowly moving down
That's exactly why I jumped to the comments section, is the lift locking out ok?
I realised the other day I bought a light off you no e bay, running light for iveco small world 👍
Very cool Al top quality purchase there mate
Great little van ,the repairs are differently spit and bubble gum quality 👍
The only thing to improve that exhaust would have been 6 or 8lbs of exhaust paste slathered around the general area...
Great work, you show why youre and diesel expert, i dont mind petrols to work on but diesels are not fun to fault find and i have 3 of them at the moment.
Another great video mate, you're fantastic with diesel engines👍👍
I love these vans I bought one with 200k miles for £600 few years ago now drove it to and throw from Spain did 270k and sold it for what paid for it £600 injectors seals were leaking back fuel to tank overnight had to easy start it every morning
You are a brilliant mechanic top video
Cracking little vans 👍🏻
Great videos the best educational on motor vehicles on RUclips!!
very entertaining video 10 out of10 for the body job 👍😊
Another brilliant video Al 👍 you are such a legend 👌

Great stuff pal.
What a lovely rear muffler on the S124 in the background!
It’s fine I was half way through changing the rubber mounting rings
@@6DDIESELSDorset fair play, looks like a solid mercedes
The renault 1.9d hates starter fluid ! I tried too, had to change the glow plugs
the green looks like an andrew scott green
Is it me or is that lift slowly dropping whilst you're working underneath it?
Colour me weird, I like the green, we had a shed that colour. A nice NA shed with a 1.9 XUD would do me.
Those Renault 4x4's. They don't dangel around! 😄
That exhaust... speechless 😂😂😂
Plank exhaust fitter
Top job!

Most of the parts are available here on eBay uk there’s a diff shaft as are a available new as is the propshaft 👍

Love a kangoo , love the videos 👍🏼
Cracking bargain buy!
Also have you thought of turning one of these small vans into a Microcamper.
I’ve done one for a mate on a standard kangoo 👍
Bargain 👌 saw it up for 3k just the other week
nice find
We have one , 1.9 TD van . Fantastic when it’s going . You seam to be missing the belly plate . If you need photos etc let me know .
Most likely I’ll see if I can find a used one off a trekka 👍
2:16 is it at all concerning that the car lift is slowly falling? Quality exhaust system btw

What would cause 06 2.5 renult master keep cutn out as renaults tend share bits lol
