Thank you very much for going through this. Great job, you remind me of my father who was like you a quality mechanic old school, who I was lucky to work with for many years before I moved to France, I find guys like you are a dying breed, between you and me I find them very poor in France 🙂 if you ever break down in France just ask them for thier tools not thier work. Cheers.
You are the only man i would pay to work on my OM611, not entirely sure how you manage to film and complete the job so well without a third pair of hands. Top job as always ;)
This is the best advice/info I’ve seen on the cdi, immediately subscribed. Own a clk270 6 speed manual which I’ve owned for 12 years, it’s ‘04 so have seen all these problems but still love the thing, only 180k miles. Loads of torque:)
with the other sprinter I think it was the 616 model the big boy with the duff piston I was going to say that a very similar fault occurs with the 2.4 ford diesel in the transit and the mondeo they hole/ crack a piston at alarming rates
Brilliant man love watching and learning thank you very much ❤👀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yes don’t think that the best idea , the bright boffins at merc designed the injector to be a set distance into the swirl of a piston. Think I’ll stick with the standard one 👍
for those of you who are SIYers the same applys to the motor in the vito and the Eclass it is a total false economy to take these bolts out and not replace them the beard strokers down the pub will say no no boy there is no need to change these bolts Ihave had this debate too many times so much so there is a notice on the customer notice board stating all injector and head bolts will be replaced as a matter of course the job is priced that way we eill not reinstall injectors or heads on old bols where pressure faailure has been a possible factor
I know this is an older one but I recognise where you are , I work for a tool company and we have a customer not far from there , down in gussage . Edwards is the customer.👍🇬🇧👍🇬🇧
Now I know how to redo the injector bolts Ive bought 2 more vitos ( yes they suffer the same fate as the sprinters and E class .. got my eye on a nice estate that has the staarting of ijector seal fail
the early sprinters were re badged frieghtliner and the body was built by dodge as far as I know thet were identical pressings merc and before you ask yes the frieghtliners rotted as bad as the mercs
A have a om651 with what looking like a blocked retun pipe witch a cant work out the leak off’s seem to pop off under load ever came across that before
Watching all your projects good to see someone with so much knowledge. Great to see all the old stuff getting started. When you reseated the injector was there much of a risk of getting swarf in engine?
It’s not to much of a problem, one it’s only light alloy shavings and I tend to turn it over a few time with the injector out . Blows most of it straight out the top 👍
I bought a 519 cdi with an om642 engine that some1 had broke the injector bolt off and then proceeded to retap the hole to an m8 and drilled all the way into the water jacket and then tried to reseal it with silicone sealant!!!! 🙄
Hello mate, loved the video great work, was hoping you can help, my friend has a Mercedes sprinter 313 Luton 11 plate, runs like absolute crap after about 10 mins of the engine running, after that to continuing driving it, you have to keep on turning the key on and off, because every time you give it gas the engine cuts out and stalls, funny thing is though, van runs absolutely fine when in limp mode, there’s been a number of codes like egr throttle body etc, and these have all been changed, but the problem still exists? What’s your thoughts? Thank you
Could be a multitude of things, total engine shit down is normally injectors/rail pressure. With out plugging it in to Xentry and reading some data you won’t really know 👍
I was thinking about doing the same with mine, I've currently got three stretch bolts and one high tensile 6mm threaded into an M10 to M6 reducer at the top of the hole.
@@6DDIESELSDorset WOW,surely to god,the only place thats fit for is the scrayard.reason i say that is ive got a peugeot partner 1.6 diesel, just went through mot with no probs ,but has just done 150000 miles.so im thinking its got to be time to get rid as that is stupidly high miles for a vehicle.
Not for a sprinter , remember that’s Kms and I’ve got one 2003 happily running on it’s original engine with over 600,000 miles on . You’ll find the build quality between a pug van and a merc’s a bit different
@@andrewthomas2406 depends how well a vehicle is looked after, my transit is approaching 300K, runs like a swiss watch 👍 Actually all 4 ot my vehicles are over 140k not botherd in the slightest 🤞

You are a very skilled fellow. As mechanical engineers, we used the HELI COIL thread repair system. Your videos are a treat watch. Peace be unto you.

I think you're Opinel was the star of the show!
I’m using “age” to everything from now on, after you’ve talked about spiderage, mouseage and catage!
Horrible bit of towel - I’m having that!
I never let the Mrs throw out any old towels, my workshop looks like an explosion in a laundry shop!

Apparently the Nissan copper injector washer is twice the thickness of the Mercedes and will fit.

Hi m8 just found your channel. Brilliant videos!. I have a lt46 and a 413 cdi. Would you have any rust free doors for either,?
Like gold dust fella !!! Cab masters still have stock of new take off lt and sprinter doors . Have a look on there web site 👍
Cracking info - Every Lidl helps! You should have 1 million subscribers - YT is odd. Rubbish is popular - actually useful isn't.
now shes had a bath she looks half about
This was owned by a company local to Andover called Russell’s removals I can tell by the livery
Yes they had it specially done as a anniversary edition , I’ve still got it and some photos of it back in the day 👍
oh and the septics also call it black death
Hope it hasn’t got the Black Death on the head where injector’s leaking 😁
Another Vice Grip Garage fan
when you went by 3 turns forward without 1 back i did a tiny fart poo
Brilliant
whats your favorite fluid for clearing the black death mine is a combination of acetic acid and nuriatic acid is what I have used in the past
Innotec de carbonising foam fantastic stuff 👍
Did I hear correctly? Masking tape? No way.
I tell you what al if I had the cash I would have bought it

Any advice for trying to avoid those injector bolts shearing off? I've got two to do on my 311CDi, and I know I won't be lucky.
Lots of freeing oil and don’t go mad hauling on them, lots of small turns back and forth 👍
Mr 6D what do yer fink about the 06-2010 2.5 tdi crafter ?
Probably the better of the bunch , I always though the 2ltr engine was a little small for a van of that size 👍
Where about are you based
North Dorset 👍
Pathetic design on holding the injector in place, a flimsy 6mm bolt with the threads way down in the head I've repaired a few tapping them out to 8mm.
I was thinking about doing the same with mine, I've currently got three stretch bolts and one high tensile 6mm threaded into an M10 to M6 reducer at the top of the hole.
whats the mileage
400,000kms ish
