You mean something like a Dyna with a panel van body? I reckon these days they could rebadge a Jumper, considering the ProAce is a collab with Citroen.
Great video. I'm also a longtime ago mechanic and love the fly on the wall explanation of the work. My mate had a battered old Merc van he took in part ex. Had a ton of miles and he decided to run it till it died. 4 years and 100K miles later it was still going strong but the body finally gave up the ghost. Great vehicle. Looking forward to more videos 😍😍
Love that wee tune! I'm going through a particularly hard time just now, but your vids just make it a bit easier to get through the day. Thanks man. TCB,Marty D 😃
Al I stumbled across your channel a few months back. All your videos are a great watch, it’s a real escape for me watching a man who has a wonderful talent just getting on with fixing old cars and vans.
Loved your story of your Mk5 Toyota 2WD Pick-Up. In my country of New Zealand 🇳🇿, there was crime ring 💍 😳 where 1990-2000 Toyota Hiace's stolen to order and sent up to Russia 🇷🇺 🙄 . I think it all got sorted 👌 in the end with a Russian & Asian nationals behind it all. Fast forward, there was just not enough reliable Toyota's ( Hino's ) for the right price. Love your video's, keep them all coming.❤
Im a Sprinter Guy, I drive for a Living, and Im on Sprinter No4 now. Over 20 years. Anyways I wished you were in the Midlands because you would definitely be my "Go to Man!" I've met a few Clowns along the way who think they are Mechanics. You clearly know your way around a Sprinter / VW engine, I've watched your previous videos. I just wished you lived near me.Its very hard to find a mechanic that you can trust. Believe me, I trust you. Keep up the great work. 🙂
Cheers fella we do get wagons from all over the country. Just sent one back to Bedfordshire. One in at current from Brighton and dropped off today from Kent 👍
Forget the OM651 - Drop in an M156 ! and build the ultimate sleeper van ! 😈😈😈 EDIT: More sensible choice would be to drop in a late OM642 ! 😇😇😇 Great video and job - Very nice looking Sprinter van 👍

Be great to see the Vito's! Swapped the dif on mine to a 36 : 11 ratio, to solve vibration. Still get some vibration at high speed, want to retrofit a doughnut to the prop, but need to buy one from a newer model and if it don't fit.....
I've owned a 651 for the last 8 years and It has never let me down and cost me next to nothing. I would be interested to hear why you think it is rubbish as I respect your opinions on most things. Keep up the good work.
To be honest most of it is that way they get driven these days , we have some one owner customers with over 350,000 and no problems . Sadly they don’t take a beating on quite like the older ones did and the emission clobber fitted doesn’t help either 👍
I'm far away from my 651 commercial twin turbo and for reasons my mechanic dismantled the engine, now I'm getting a replacement but the dealership asked me where the engine oil dipstick is located, can you reply by telling me the exact location. Pls
That's scary when the 651 locks up while driving without a warning. Luckily the automatic transmission went into neutral. This was couple years ago and had one spin the rod bearings which caused a rod knock and that was so loud.
Hi Al. Al that video was bloody brilliant mate fair play to you 👏🏼. It was for those not in the trade informative, educational, and for me very entertaining. And I absolutely love the longer videos 👌. Just a thought though Al, wouldn't you be better off releasing your videos around 6 or 7pm? Reason I say that is because that's peek viewing time for blokes like me and I would of thought it would garner you a lot more views and subscriptions? Just a thought mate but you do what ever you find works best for you 😉 I absolutely can not wait for the next video to come out, I reckon this is now by far my most favourite channel on RUclips. Brilliant mechanic mate. Most just replace engines instead of repairing. A have sprinter 2014. But my leak off pipes are pressuring like the fuel return is blocked or somthing. Ever come across that problem before driving me nuts, going have to strip egr off just to have a look.
Strange it runs back to the lower rear of the high pressure pump possible it’s got squashed . You do get pressure there anyway as the fuel tank pump does push fuel at them, might be with fitting a new set of leak offs 👍
A fitted new injectors old leak offs broke and a fitted a intank pump as had a low fuel pressure issue. A think somone has had the egr off and possibly nipped the return putting it back to gether. Ats my guess.
Sorry to bother you mate would you happen to have the big end bearings and main bearings torque settings by any chance we seem to of misplaced our settings? 🤦♂️😂👍🙏🏼
I've been sent to your channel by a number of my subscribers saying that you're the man I needed to talk to about a suspected diesel hydro lock on my Sprinter. I notice you have a Vice Grip cap on so I know for sure I've Come to the right place. 😂 Could a guy hook his peepers on one of my videos and tell me if I could strip my engine without any experience of engine building and repair it then drive it another 600 miles every day for another year at least? I'm sure that'd be fine... Nope! Not gonna happen.. But we're going to try anyway.. 👍
Question- does the OM651 Vito or Sprinter have an oil pressure warning message/ light etc? I get the impression it doesn’t! So I suppose you just keep driving until it seizes ! I am currently stripping an OM651 in a Vito which had a serious knocking noise, and going by the metallic debris in the sump has a failed big end bearing minimum…all due I assume to a failed oil pump!
I duly took my OM651 block and crank to D &R James, but not at all surprisingly they have condemned it as unrepairable! All due to lack of oil pressure on the front journals- totally knackered! Do you have a decent OM651 block and crank for sale or IF NOT are there any numbers/types I should be aware of before trawling the net? It’s a 2013 Vito with engine number 65194031948259.
