Got to love the roadside struggle, I changed the headgasket on my XR3i years ago whilst at the Network Q rally in Wales....You can tell how much confidence I had in that car by the fact that I had the gasket kit and tools on hand in the boot....😂😂😂

My rothenberger torch came with a swirl tip, you need to keep the thing your heating at the tip of the light blue central cone of the flame for maximum heat, Can't say I'd be as pleasant with passers-by in that situation, especially after getting a price like that!!!

Chris I had same happen on my 2005 recovery truck with a car in the back. Was scary at 70mph. it is still a common issue on the newer vans aswell then. I done all 4 off ebay with drop links and D bushes for I think £550
Be careful leaving that torch assembled in the van. Been a few cases of them getting knocked over and exploding. Also use the tip of the flame. It's the hottest part
£900 for pressed sheet steel, what’s the world come to? Great ingenuity cutting the head off and opting for all thread with a nut each side. Can’t believe how much struggling you get through Chris, there’s someone in Newark having an easy life, as your struggling for two 😂. Stay safe out there!
@@Professional-struggler I’d get both sides if your going to buy brand used, or at least check the other side thoroughly. Ditch all the security bolts as well, no one is nicking your wheels, especially if you keep it on your site at night (bought a van, got a flat, realised was never given a security socket, the struggle began 😂).
Done one these wisbones on the N/S on the edge of a ditch once, got a new one from MPD about £95 but was on a 58 plate....Keep up the good work Chris...

Now, that was some real news! I once was about to buy an Iveco, I am so glad it didn't happen. And silly me, I thought Transit was an ancient construction... These Ivecos are made not to be repaired but scrapped or wrecked! They have a reputation of having good engines and the later ZF automatic is also nice. BTW look at the other side too!

Im a blacksmith, I was taught heat then cool that stretches the nut over the hot bolt or stud before it shrinks, then it will come off with fingers. Everyone loves a smart ass!

I have had cars where you need to lift the entire engine just to pull a bolt out to release a wishbone. Some designers must do things like that on purpose just to annoy mechanics.
A cheery disposition is an effective coping strategy for problems. My natural inclination is similar to the irate New York Police Chief seen in many films and it does nothing but bring on a migraine and an expenditure on Asprin.
I had similar on my iveco daily, but it was the bottom arm that snapped, luckily I managed to limp it home... You're right though, the bolt placements on the upper side of the suspension & cab mounts is shit
Oh and the steering noise, pull the cover off the bottom of steering column in the cab, clean it out and spray some oil where the shaft passes through the cab!

Hi chris,omg what a day but yet you were still happy and laughing but that's you all over,atleast it didn't break going 50/60 mph I suppose,£900 for a small part like that what a rip off Iveco are ffs and what a joke the person that designed that bolt etc,I did laugh when I could hear the girl laughing in the background and you go is she laughing at me🤣🤣brilliant,atleast you have friends to help you out and hope the struggle bus has been OK since,🙂👍

hope you get sorted, there is a van brakers at the side of the A46 between Nottingham and Leicester that could have one of them, been a couple of years since i have been but they seem to have most stuff.
