Rush struck fear in the hearts of opposition fans. Incredible player who dominated the league. Doff my hat to the lad. Cheers from a Leeds United supporter.
Ian Rush scored at will and was a terror to defenders. He was lethal with both the right and left foot, and had pace. One of the best strikers football has seen.
@@furkanbozdag8198 he is right, Ian Rush was deadly , remember Liverpool was best team in Europe in the 80s and Liverpool is most succesful club in UK and he is all time top goal scorer for the club.
The skill is not in putting the ball in the net, but being in the right place at the right time, ALL the time. Rush was immense, a true legend of Anfield and the beautiful game.
He scored all sorts of goals and my God did Everton suffer at the hands of Ian Rush a truly great goalscorer. At times he was unplayable, he had pace and once near the penalty area he seemed to change gears simply electric, one of the best strikers to ever play the game.
2 European Cups in 1981 and 1984. Liverpool was my childhood memory and favorite team. China broadcasted then premium league. Liverpool is best known city to me because of Liverpool FC. Ian rush, Beardsley, Barnes, Aldridge, McManaman and Dalglish are some well known and talented players I still remembered today.
He was absolutely world class. Some of his finishing was ridiculous, some of which seemed more on a par with modern day football. One of the best finishers the game has ever produced, I would say probably in the top 3 of all time greatest finishers.
Ian Rush is one of Liverpool’s great all time strikers. Rush and Dalglish were just so clinical up front and Rush in particular couldn’t stop scoring for fun. Rush shouldn’t have gone to the Italians Juventus, because at Liverpool the Welsh striker had a point to prove. Ian Rush what a player who couldn’t stop scoring,
The legendary Ian Rush, Liverpool’s finest, a goal scoring machine. It’s a shame Wales didn’t qualify for either a European Championship or World Cup during Ian Rush’s amazing football career, he would have been great to see on the world stage. Ian Rush, a true football God.
@Master Yoda : Just think what a team the UK might have had during that era with the fine Irish,Welsh and Scots players at Anfield.Rush was so good that I can't imagine Shearer, brilliant as he was, getting a place on that UK team with Dalglish and Rush as competition.
My hero. No one will ever come close to equal him. This was also a time when players played for the club and not themself like today. No one is bigger than the club.
Came for a full compilation, before realising what that would actually mean. Honestly, those who watched Rush at the time know what a phenomenon he was, but on the stage of history, he isn't mentioned nearly enough.
Rush was outstanding, the best natural goalscorer I have ever seen after Jimmy Greaves. But there was so much more to his game than sticking the ball in the back of the net; he was a great creator of chances and his work rate off the ball was second to none.
Ian rush the best Welsh striker ever and liverpool every team feared him him and dalglish was the best partners the league ever had and that's including the premier there goal scoring record will never be beating no other teams forward came close and no liverpool fan
This 01:55 and 08:17 absoluetly incredible diagonal running, that can't be stopped. Rush passed that knowledge onto Robbie Fowler. Of course, you need world class footballers to give you the ball, like Jan Molby and John Barnes.
The level of football in the English game has improved so much! Most of the goals were tap-ins but some real spectacular goals there. My favorite being at 7:19 😍
Oh well done beat spurs in the final must not have been easy draws u have never win a prem u twat u only win trophies where u can get easy draws and have good teams play eachother making it easier with less hard opponents to beat. Why havent u won a prem oh yh because u have to play every team
346 goals and 340 of them seemed to be against poor old Everton. Rush would even break sweat in the Screen Sport Super Cup just to score against Everton :)
4:47 The goal against City was typical of Rush and an example I always highlight. He's making tackles back outside his own penalty box, but not stopping to smell the roses, bombing forward and then getting a goal at the end. He created that goal, so why not finish it off yourself? :)
the only way to make the legends proud of liverpool today is to make tis season a moment we can't forget and will be remember for a long long time by lift tis 19/20 epl 🏆 oh man!.... hahaha 💪🤣
Lethal. He was not good in skills and passes, but he was simply and only one of the best strikers of the Eighties. Always on the right place at the right time.Transferring to Juventus in 1987 was a shame for him. Juventus season was full of problems, first season without Platini, that carried the team to its greatful trophies, and with all of the stars like Scirea and Cabrini on their way down. 1987 for Juventus was the year of the pass of torch to Ac Milan and Napoli. Agnelli signed Rush hoping he could be a leader, carrying the team to the passed level. But the teammates were not good ( except for Miki Laudrup) and he never acclimitazed in Italy (never learned one word of italian). More over, the Serie A was not the league for his technical features: too much tactic and blocked defenses. Only forwards that used to play with the team moving all over the attack creating spaces for the others and with great technique and skills ( for example Careca, Voeller or Van Basten)could be succesfull at the time in Italy. Pure strikers like Rush were condamned to failure (the same destiny that occured at Papin in Ac Milan and at Darko Pancev in Fc Internazionale).
Young Haaland reminds me of Rush (on Hulk Hogan Vitamins), Great finisher, always in the right place. Unlike Ronaldo who played differently and would run at defenders. Shearer some where in between. Batastuta somewhere inbetween Shearer and Ronaldo.
Ian Rush was my favorite striker when I was a kid. He is one of the reasons why I became a Liverpool fan for life.

As a Canadian who was studying in Bristol from 1984-87, I saw many of his greatest goals-fun player to watch.
