My favorite football player , grew up in Manchester as young boy kicking the football against the wall pretending to be dalglish, never could afford to go watch a game because my mum and dad were poor but I used to listen to liverpool on the wireless radio with my dad and we would buy the pink paper to get the football results , miss my childhood wonderful memories I will always cherish miss you mum and dad always your son Lee 🙏❤

In the Black Country our local paper, the Express and Star, also had a pink section for the footie results. Even more looked forward to then as many of the Midlands clubs were doing well and winning trophies!

My cousin born in 1972 (gone now R.I.P) LOVED Keegan & Dalglish. I was born in 1978, so I was too young to see remember him in hits heyday. The point is, for such a small man, I never realised how strong he was on the ball. No one's knocking him off the ball and he seem tenacious as well. "Thanks" for the upload - AFC fan, but massive respect to LFC due to cousin & Liverpudlians I've meet from over the years.

Been a True RED since i was a kid, first game at Anfield 1967 Anfield v Spurs 1-1 greaves for them 2 mins!!!! Sir Roger for us. Seen em All down the years all through the Shankly, Paisley to Klopp era's. The Triumphs The Disasters. One Star Shines through it all - KENNY!! KING KENNY! SIR KENNY! THE PAISLEY MASTERSTROKE After the grief of losing Keegan. Stevie G could play. But if you could take the "slyness" out of Suarez - for me he was the Closest to Kenny for World Class Ability. Crazy Good Player, but weak minded at his worse. KING KENNY WILL ALWAYS BE THE KING OF THE KOP! SIR KENNY THE PRIDE OF MERSEYSIDE AND THAT IS NOT JUST THE MAGIC FEET AND THE COMPUTER BRAIN!!! on a football field. Done so much for the City and Families that he now Loves as his home. What would Dalglish and Rush be worth today?? Thank you Kenny for all those incredible memories. The most dangerous player i ever saw with his back to goal, amazing thinking power! The use of his body, the whole package. Lack of pace? your having a laugh! They were always trying to catch up to the King he was always five yards ahead in thinking! "Depends on your point of view!" as the Maestro said in his Glasgow Brogue...What a Player! What a Manager! What a Man!

Some players like Kenny Dalglish were absolutely brilliant, however, you'll not find their names on Top 30, Top 50 players ever, and I'll tell you why: it's because lack of trophies or succesess with their national teams. Laszlo Kubala, Gunnar Nordahl, Jose Altafini, Vlodek Lubanski, Kenny Dalglish... On the other hand, you can say that George Best did not win anything with his national team, but... @@lyndoncmp5751 I am a huge Kenny fan and said throughout his career that he was one of the best in the world, in the same class as Cruyff, but classy ball skills? Look at a Cruyff turn and look at Kenny slow turn with that big bum out. You could not get the ball off him because he knew exactly how much time and space he had at all time. Compare to Messi who at is best is simply not there where you will tackle, who can turn on a sixpence. This is not Kenny but world class and unbeatable in his own way. I stand by what I wrote

The usual suspects... Barry Davies, Gerald Sinstadt, John Motson, Martin Tyler, Brian Moore... think I even heard Kenneth Wolstenholme in one or two

@@904Gunn No worries... for example 1:02 John Motson, 1:28 Brian Moore, 2:23 Kenneth Wolstenholme (I think... he was a bit before my time), 2:27 Barry Davies (the BEST in my opinion), 3:09 Gerald Sinstadt, 3:24 Martin Tyler.... Moore and Sinstadt do sound quite similar particularly on grainy tapes so I may have misattributed . If you want any specific ones, let me know the time...

Don’t get me wrong, King Kenny was a fantastic player but don’t you think the goalkeepers of that era were a bit poor, like holy 🤯

also the ball was heavier, the grass was more rough and the tackles were more harsh
