Love Ian Rush, my dad played against him when Rush played for Chester, and I was born in the same hospital as Rushie in St.Asaph in Wales, the second smallest City in Britain.
for me, watching with mates at a boarding school in Malaysia, the 1986 FA Cup final was the best.. Rushie is the best! and ever so reliable in getting the winners for us..
My Football Hero Growing Up in 80s. What A Player and Goalscorer. There's Only One Ian Rush and He Played For Liverpool. I could Watch His Goals All Day. Thanks For The Memories Liverpool FC. I'm Now 55 and Have Supported The Team For Over 40 years now. I was A Family Thing With Us. We All Loved Liverpool Football Club and Always Will ⚽🥅
One of most naturally gifted strikers ever in English football. He was most definitely not the most technical player but he had an uncanny positional awareness. And an eye for where to place the ball. It was sometimes as if the ball just naturally gravitated to him.
Absolute Legend. Pure Striker and Goal Scoring Machine. Loved Watching Rushy growing up, alongwith Barnes aswell, both was my Liverpool Heroes during my Early Days of Watching as a Liverpool Fan.
I re-enacted so many of those goals as a kid in my back garden, particularly the Villa hat-trick, the Watford goal and those ones in the Cup Finals v Everton. Loved Ian Rush, still one of my all-time favourite players.
Not only is Rush One of The Best Striker's/Finishers Ever! But He was the 1st Line of Defense Pressing/Chasing down the DF & MID! What A Quality Player... right left head/speed/touch/positional awareness etc He Was World Class! Legend 💯🔥⚽️
Best striker I've ever seen. Guy was tall, lanky but an absolute beast. Love Rushy. He gave 100 percent every game When I watched him live for the first time my Dad was amazed how quick he was, and his movement off the ball was brilliant. " Bloody scary how good he is!" :) and how scary it was he just kinda crept into the right place lol Awesome
Arsenal supporter here but this guy was nothing but class. He reminds me of Ian Wright a ton as either of them made goal scoring look so easy and effortless.
Underrated...?? What nonsense. He's adored by LFC fans all over the world & respected by fans of many other clubs. The term 'underrated' is often criminally overrated on here.....🙄
@@ivorscrotumic3556 oh absolutely, I'm a Toon fan and Shearer is my top boy, but I remember Liverpool of the 80s and 90s, and you're absolutely right Rush was the top boy of his era.
Absolutely. Along with Pele, Maradona and, in recent years, Messi, just another in a long line of criminally underrated footballing talents. Hopefully, some day, they shall all have their day.
Rush positioning was always brilliant, the way he could stay forward where his teammates could see him but not the rivals made him a lethal and silent striker who appears in the most convenient moments.
A lot of my heroes there Wonderful looking back My Dad took me to see Liverpool quite a few times including a cup final Great memories I know people talk about Fowler Owen and Suarez and Torres who are greats for sure but it will always be Rush and Dalglish for me
@@Redstorm1220 fucking hell hunt… first player to ever score a hatrick in a wc final and he did it for England he actually has more league goals for us than anyone else including rush
@@ThePenguin_1-m7d sad that no one really knows how strong that Shankly side was. I’ve only heard stories from my poppa who used to go to the kop during the 50s,60s and early 70s before moving to America
I took my son to the Villa match which was a freezing frosty day, he was a Liverpool fan, what a baptism it was for his first ever match, Rush was in a class of his own that night.
I know it was a totally different era and the players didn’t have the trainers, equipment, sports psychologists or even diets they have today. Watching Rush doing what he did I can’t help but think the defenders in those days ran like they were in quicksand, but hats off to the big man he wasn’t the fastest either, he just had a mercurial sense of where the goal was and he was a strong two footed player.
What a consistent goal scorer who improved his scoring ratio year after year I try to speak of consistency to the upcoming player's of my team when I have

Watching Liverpool in the 80s I focused on Rush 80% of the time. Was an absolute machine. My favourite player.
Almost automatic, wasn't he? 346 goals for Liverpool. Simply brilliant.

he was two-footed as well, a criminally underrated trait of a footballer
Absolute master of scoring on the volley.
He’s one of the most unforgettable Liverpool’s attackers of all time !!!
I like how he genuinely celebrates his goals, and not doing the TikTok sh*t we see at every game.
