  • Does your Mini E-Revo make a clicking noise on acceleration when running on 3s? Better check your rear differential for chewed up gears. If you have chewed up rear differential gears then this fix will get you back up and running.
    The issue is the skid plates not keeping the differential housing from flexing under power. The skid plates are very flexible plastic, and under heavy acceleration when running a 3s LiPo the differential housing separates causing gear mesh to be too great. Ive listed all the parts needed to fix this issue, and to replace damaged ring/pinion gears.
    Parts Used:
    Ring gear, differential/ pinion gear #7079

    The fluids used are from TLR (Team Losi Racing), it doesn’t matter which brand you use. Don’t forget to use some grease, we like to use Marine Grease just in case moisture or water enter the differential housing.

    One thing that could help from snapping driveshafts and hurting the diff is keeping the clutch just slightly looser.

    our mini e revo is our oldest rc and is still going strong on 2s. we put in the upgraded center diff and noticed more traction control with it. in fact thats what it does, it turns the revo into a constant 4 wheel drive to a traction control rc, just like a car or truck giving power to the wheels that need it most. i also had the slightest space in the diff covers when i put in thicker diff fluid. thought that was strange but so far so good.

    Just use a couple of shims on the diff that’s how I fixed mine

    @Murrss7807 7 месяцев назад +1

    You didn't necessarily have to buy the whole differential or part 7078, I had the same problem and I managed to take apart the differential itself and only had to use 7079 to fix the merv.

      Just be prepared to add some silicone grease or part 1647 to the diff before putting it back together

      @@Brayrfd1192 Yeah it’s a little pricey for what you get, even the Sledge is a little high considering the upgrades you half to have. Honestly the MAXX V2 was so far the best purchase for the price.

    Does not have to run 3s for that prob to appear . 1/16 brushed Slash has same issues. Easy fix unde 20 bucks , new rear diff, old diff. out to trash.

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  9 месяцев назад +2

      The Slash may be different, the mini Erevo can run on 2s without any issues. This fix and upgrade needs to be done to avoid it from happening again.

      @@redbanditracingI have never run my e revo o 3s and also have this problem. It hasnt been used in a few years because of it but now in thinking in fixing it. Do you think a rear aluminium bulkhead is also needed, or I am good with just the skid plate

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  4 месяца назад

      Good question, my local hobby shop had the aluminum bulkhead sitting on his shelf for years. He offered it to me for 50% off but I bought the plastic instead. I’m sure the aluminum would be fine, but the aluminum skid plates are way cheaper to get to fix the issue.
