They always talk on Dev Blogs about how some features are cool and fun but actualy they can't predict just because in theory they sound cool. If exceuted poorly and the end result is creating overal gameplay better than what do we need it at all ?

They are working on that in order. 90% of the remaining players are happy with that because they are the majority and they are getting what they wanted. They are not the loudest, you don't see them complain here or there. But the majority actually don't care about opr, pvp, or an imaginary raid. We have raids in the game right now. I legit don't know what ppl consider a raid, an open world boss because these exist and the ppl here act like they don't. The game is so easy that you can basically solo them, the game is so easy that they can't add actual unique rewards because you'd whine about that you can't get them, etc etc. It it a circle. You guys wanted better, cooler, rare stuff that's worth it. You first got free bis for no effort, then it wasn't enough. You wanted more. They added more. It was good for a week then you realized it may take time to get it, so they had to give it to you again. I start a character and in a week it will be in full bis (not even mentioning the level..) The game simply became way too easy and the content they release can be done too fast and due to this, it feels like it is not much. Whatever.. I had fun, I stopped playing because of the players. Too much whining got them a too easy game and it has nothing to do with an mmo anymore. It is a single player exploration game, that's it.
A console release with no massive new content would be the final deathblow for me. If they are gonna do a Brimstone kind of thing, I'd be down with that.
It comes to what I expected, no more expansion just major updates (like the combat recode basically). I just hope once they are settle with this new combat recode and the console release, they FINALLY gonna focus on content. Repeatable content, for both pve and pvp, not 5 men dungeons.
At this point we can see this game is just a development sandbox for devs to build their game engine and backend tech for the upcoming LOTR MMO. My guess would be, we will get console release announcement for October/November and game becoming F2P or just base game up to 60 becoming free to play. They will work on their cross platform/cross server technology further to make azoth engine ready for big MMO. At the same time they would need test subjects, so It makes sense at current players left that they would need to make it free or very cheap to attract crowd of people to be lab rats. Kinda doubt that, but with console release could also get new zone with continuation of the story mode, not as an expansion same as brimstone, but much smaller in scale. It was teased that we would see warewolf and vampire lore next, it could be small zone in mountains behind morningdale or shatered mountain.

Man I want to get this game, the combat looks so fun for pvp. But the future of this game seems sooo grim. Especially with the studio now starting to work on a new mmo (LOTR), how could this game have any hope to last? It seems highly unlikely. With the track record of losing 60%+ of its players the month after gaining any amount of players, $55 (base + xpac) for spring sale price right now is way too steep.
For anyone that has a job and works the price is worth the enjoyment. I'd rather they keep charging for xpacs too many whingers. Once you start giving doing free shit for gamers who have no idea what they actually want and think are a bunch of "experts" AoC is still around and enjoyable.

Not really disappointed. I knew something like this would happen. Lotta survival games coming out, getting content updates or going 1.0 this year so Im able to keep busy. been playing since day 8 this game. And I was nejoying it until first month updates revealed incompetent decscisions. One of them was PvP scaling removal. This was the first update to kill PvP element
not having a new expansion dont bother me at all, all I want is new pvp content; OPR map, new pvp mode, more solo replayable PVE content, new weapons (not just new artifacts), maybe some change in weapon's atributes to make new builds.

@propersod2390 well apart from expansion the only way they will be able to have the opportunity to make bigger and better updates for new world is if they make money. Apart from selling expansions, they got what? New sales? And small amount of revenue from season pass and cash shop. Plus expansions allow for a marketing push allowing for a better player numbers and also new players so it's a win win in a sense if they make and release good expansions

Not having a expansion/expansion like update like brimstone sands they going to struggle long term without a doubt
