Amber don’t stop pulling ABBA. There are so many more to choose from. I am little surprised you have yet to do Dancing Queen. I believe it is perhaps the song they are known for and gets played to this day. Thanks for playing this awesome group.
Their only #1 in the US!
I'm wondering if they did that and it got pulled. It seems unlikely that they missed their biggest hit, but maybe.
I think they once mentioned that the both already knew the song Dancing Queen because of how popular it was. They just did not know who performed it. Now they are doing ABBA songs that have never heard before.
They have done it
Yes, agree. "Dancing Queen" is overdue.
Super Trooper is the company that makes the spotlights. This went straight to number 1 in the UK in 1980.
Listen to this for 40 years and did not know that was the company name, makes more sense now. Ty for the info.
Learn something new every day
Learn something every day. The lights were first made in 1956 and were used for concerts, stadiums and special events. 😃
@@DartJedi I know, I too learnt this relatively late. I always thought it was a corny song title, kind of typical of someone writing in their second language. But I should have known better. They were often ridiculed back in the day, but apart from some clothing choices there was nothing ridiculous about them. Absolute masters of their craft.
No it didn't. The song entered the UK singles chart at # 13 and then climbed to # 2 and on its third week on the chart reached # 1 where it spent three weeks becoming ABBA's ninth and final UK # 1 hit to date.
2:48 When our girl Amber breaks out in laughter and pure joy! That's what ABBA can do to us 🙌
Yep, and any men who say they don't like ABBA are lying to themselves 🙂🙂
"Slipping through my fingers" gets me every time 😢 simply beautiful.
This one's heavily recommended for parents!
I’ve suggested it a while ago but they don’t listen unless you’re paying them or giving them gifts.
Love that song. Thanks for mentioning it :).
ABsolutely. Ambers heart will totally MELT! 🙂
I cry every time especially reminds me of my youngest. We had a hard time through her teen years but thankfully she’s come back to me now
Lay All Your Love on Me is another great one from the album.
Eagle by ABBA. BANGER
Aaaw! Yes, it is ethereal.!!!!
Eventually. Been plugging that song forever. If they do it, hopefully the album version
Yes!
yes, yes, yes, been trying to push this one for so long
Indeed but you have to take the long version, important! ❤
The movie " MAMMA MIA" and the 2nd movie has to be on your movie list....They are both very good...and the music is the soundtrack of ABBA's playlist.
It's a really fun watch.
Movie was terrible
Frida is so beautiful in this video, love the hair, the makeup, the dress, it's one of her best looks.
Those eyebrows tho
@@AirstripOne-nd4du Agnetha does not have the colour tones to do this song justice, she excels on songs far better suited to her brighter but more hollow tone
Im 49 and grew up with ABBA.
No one could tell a story like them.
They were and always will be the perfect mix for a pop group. No one will ever come close to them and their magic.
Did you were you a family member 🤣🤔🤣
@@user-ls4lx3qt3h lol I wish I was. 😂
Yeah!!! Been waiting for this one! There is NO bad ABBA song!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Agree Dancing Queen is a MUST!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe they are keeping their signature song in their back pockets.
I'm sure they did Dancing Queen, though i can't find it.. may have been pulled?....but i'm sure they covered that about 2 yrs back
@@leoleopard7035 I've never heard them do that one, and I've been complaining about that for a long time. If they've done it, it must've gotten pulled so fast that I never saw it. I've been following this channel since before Amber was on here.
@@billebrooks It happens! There was one reaction vid(can't remember the band) they posted, and it was gone within 30 mins of being posted. iirc Dancing Queen was done when they were both there with the bricked wall behind them
Looking at other comments, others remember it being posted too..
Don't remember that. Every other song is still up. I would like to see Amber and Jordan enjoy this song.
Oh yes. More of the special blend of voices that is ABBA. Two suggestions for next time are Voulez-Vous and I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do. I don't think you have done either of them. A Super Trouper is the name of a follow spot, the light that isolates the stars and follows them around the stage. The song is about the singer on the stage being lit by the spot and feeling isolated on the stage where she can't see her boyfriend or the audience.
My favorite ABBA song is "I do, I do, I do, I do, I do". I hope you all react to it soon, and an ABBA song once three or four weeks sounds great!
Amber will love the sax opening for that one. 🎷😊
For me it was always too old fashioned
One of favaourite too. So classic
Play it from "Made in Sweden for Export"@@genedoss664
It's nice to see the younger generation appreciating ABBA and other older artists from the 60's,70's and 80's.
It has been said any times that ABBA, by far, is the hardest musical act to try and emulate. The way they did their harmonies, and the way they put together, and layered, their musical productions, make it a nightmare for cover bands to try and do them justice. You may not notice it at first, but if you really listen to their music, the pure genius of ABBA is undeniable. And the harmonies of those two ladies...they have been imitated MANY times, but never close to being duplicated. They are, and always will be, one of the greatest bands of all time, IMO.
14 year old me was a young buck chasing girls and way to cool for school. But I still went out and bought this single
and played it over and over. Hey nobody is too cool for Abba. Loved seeing your joyful reaction.
And lets not forget how pure those opening harmonies are.
PLEASE please please do Dancing Queen next, you both will be knocked out of your chairs!!!😏
When ABBA came to Australia they caused crowd reactions unseen since the Beatles tour in 1964. They were insanely popular here.
Love Abba! Check out their powerful 1979 hit
"Voulez Vous" next!
ABBA - Angel Eyes!
One of my Favorites, but not heard very often, needs to be heard!
Angel Eyes is absolutely ABBA at their best.
YAAASSSSSSSS!! “Angel Eyes” is beautiful!!
I remember living in Germany as a kid in the mid-late 70's, and ABBA was EVERYWHERE. As a early teen, it was an unwritten law that they were horrible. Peer pressure made you swear that KISS, Zepplin, Alice Cooper, etc were the best. But I quietly would sing along when ABBA was on the radio, or when my parents played an ABBA tape in the car. There was just no denying their vocals and musical arrangements.
Yes. It actually wasn't cool to like ABBA. They were seen as too "goody goody" for teenagers, and had a European style than wasn't quite in line with American sensibilities. But I loved them anyway, and all my friends knew it.
Lol so true! Sex Pistols or Kate Bush were ok, but not Abba. My excuse was that part of my family is Swedish so that's why we had their albums at home.
I was still a child when they were popular, so I was officially allowed to like them. 😄
Dancing Queen. The absolute pinnacle. When the ladies sing ‘you can dance, you can jive’, it’s just something else.
Super Trouper named after the stage spotlights just like the one at the very start of the video
Unfortunately that wasn't a Super Trouper shown in the video, it was a CCT Silhouette 10, still a follow spot but very much cheaper and less bright.
Super Troupers, made by Strong Lighting, are very much larger, use a Xenon lamp and designed for very long throw applications where the follow spot is a long way from what is being lit, like at stadium concerts.
😴
Full Specification please
@@aardvarkmaximus7688
@@aardvarkmaximus7688The first Super Troupers were carbon arc lights.
Play that bass Rutger Gunnarsson! GOLD!! RIP bass man.
The girls voices together are so recognizable, so magnetic! You know right off the bat who is singing!
on your movie channel you should react to Muriels Wedding!!! All Abba songs and a very very good story.
You're terrible Muriel 😉😅
@@scouseofhorror104 Goodbye Porpoise Pit!!
@@scouseofhorror104 One of the best lines from that movie. Love "Muriel's Wedding", saw it in the theater and watched it on video countless times. A true gem of a movie.
@@samuraienterprises9802 It's bloody magic! "Let her finish her 'orgasm'... 🤔😅
Their most sensual song is Andante, Andante. You will love it.
Yes. Fantastic lead vocals by Frida.
Voulez vouz too
OMG yes.
I have 75 ABBA songs on my playlist. Love them all, and I've been listening to them for close to 50 years now. They all make me want to dance and sing along. They are the sound of joy to me. "One Man, One Woman" and "Move On" are probably my favorites, but "Dancing Queen" has to be their most iconic song. It is the perfect disco hit.
You can always count on an ABBA song having a great chorus!
'' Thank you for the music '' is worth a listen. So many to choose from.
This is the one I was going to suggest. Great song!
ABBA - "Rock Me". Bjorn sings lead in Rock Me.
My favourite 😊
Oh i love Rock Me xx
He also sing in "Does Your Mother Know"
Ani Frids voice in this , is totally amazing . The purity of her voice comes through flawlessly
It’s awsome you did Abba today, it’s my birthday and we just went to see the Abba Voyage concert at the Abba arena in London. Mind blowing! It’s like they’re are actually there!!! Love the reactions 😊👍
Dancing Queen, which might be one of the best pop songs ever written and performed, when one of the boys who composed it brought it home for one of the girls to hear and just played it on the piano it was so beautiful she cried...
Absolutely love ABBA! My favorite is Thank You For The Music,
This was released just before Christmas in 1980, and will forever be associated with it, for that.
Yes , because of the bells inside
If you pay attention, even though the songs sound upbeat, there's a layer of DARKNESS in just about every song ABBA has ever done. It's one of the reasons their music is SO addictive.
ABBA dominated '70's pop music because of all the reasons you mentioned: their versatility and musicality and their feel good vibe. The world is a better place because of their music.
Yes! This is my absolute favorite Abba song! Thank you for finally doing it!
It has always been my favourite ABBA song too 👍
you have to listen to ABBA's "I Still Have Faith In You" After 40 years they came back and this song was the first one of their new songs nominated for a Grammy. It is unique. It is an anthem to about their return. The video is exceptional as it is a historical footage review of ABBA. You must do it just to see the uniqueness of the song.
Love this song and it’s really underrated and underplayed.
@@loobyloo8980
...and ODE TO FREEDOM is a Anthem too!!!
So beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤
You really need to watch "Muriel's Wedding", a movie with Toni Collette, she wants her life to be like an Abba song. Great soundtrack.
LOVE that movie!
One of these days, you should check out the dark and serious side of ABBA, songs like "The Visitors" or "The Day Before You Came"
I remember the first time hearing The Visitors dancing at Studio 54 and loving it. Then being shocked when I learned it was ABBA!
“The Day Before You Came”is possibly one of most sinister pop, songs ever written. Some people think it’s a happy love song, but it’s the complete opposite.
Absolutely. Their dark, mature early 80s stuff (1981’s The Visitors album & their last singles from 1982) is probably the best stuff they‘ve ever done.
The day before you came, is a hauntingly beautiful masterpiece..
Or "The Piper"
Hi, you two! it's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here. Who doesn't love ABBA? I particularly like this one, because it mentions Glasgow... even though it's not in the best light. It's still a great song. Æx 🙏
It was not that they didnt liked Glasgow,it means that she missed her love.
@larsnilsson6821 Thanks. I often wondered that, and I hoped that was the case. I only wish I could have been working at gigs at the time, as I am now, and I wish I had got to see them perform live in concert. I was too young. I saw ABBA the movie in the cinema, though, and really fell in love with them then. Æ 🙏
Eagle, Andante Andante, Our Last Summer, The day before you came, Tiger, One man one woman and Slipping through my fingers all amazing! I grew up on ABBA and there’s something for everyone! X
Lay all your love and Dancing Queen is also some of the greatest songs of Abba.
Great reaction....great choice!!!
My all time ABBA favorite is "When all is said and done"
Dancing Queen is great. It was in the Movie "Miss Congeniality"!
Mama Mia is another great song. I always liked "The Piper" and "Happy New Year". 😊
They definitely need to listen to “Happy New Year” in late December.
"part of a success that never ends" the ABBA gift that keeps on giving. They deserve all their success
Yet another great ABBA song. It great to hear Anni-Frid's voice shining here.
Love the third verse: Frida's delivery: Goosebumps!
It's great that you're sticking with ABBA. And you can always sum up the genius so beautifully. An increase in this famous choir effect can be heard in the song "Lay all your love on me". Bombastic and beautiful
"Dancing Queen" was released as a single in Sweden on 16 August 1976... you'll love it 💃
…..that’s why we were all Happy during the 70’s. “ABBA” 🤗
Such a brilliant reaction, i love your Abba assessments
it's always brilliant to see your beautiful smiling faces too, Jay 'n' Amber
Great stuff! Thank you so much x
Other than "Dancing Queen," this is my favorite ABBA song. Oh Amber and Jay are gonna LOVE this song! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
'Part of a success that never ends.' - ABBA rules!
*ABBA - Summer Night City*
Live it's so goooood Summer Night City ABBA in concert
My mother was a big fan of ABBA, bought the new albums when they came out, she's passed away but I still have the albums.
When i kissed the Teacher, Rock Me, and Ive been waiting for you Oh and Hasta Manana, Voulez Vouz, Does your Mother Know. How about the last song when they came back with an Album a couple of years ago, Dobt Shut me Down Oh i adore ABBA xx
It took me an embarrassingly long time to learn that a Super Trouper is a type of stage spot light. It usually lights the main singer.
I only know about it today ! And I’m 55 lol
I’m 56 and literally just found out reading the comments of this. LOL
Umm 53 here me too 😊
Yeah, she's not actually being hunted down by the military...
The world require more ABBA reactions.... 🙏🙏👋👋👋👋👋
You will love “When All is Said and Done!”
One of my absoluye faves.
ABBA was one of mine and my partners all time favorites. It's too bad the two couples divorcing at the top of their careers broke them up. They tried to reunite a little later in the early 80' s, but there was too much history. They came back together in 2018 and produced another studio album. However; I am partial to the great classics that still have a place in this millennium. Great four part harmony. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
I've been listening to ABBA for over 20 years and I thank my parents everyday for introducing me to their music
Can't go wrong with Abba, just wonderful music and brilliantly produced. Even when the ladies are singing on their own, there is always a harmony somewhere in the back to make the sound bigger.
For ABBA: Eagle, The Visitors, The Day Before You Came, Under Attack ❤
Have you heard Blancmange version of the day before you came as ABBAs one didnt do well in the UK and Blancmange put it in the top ten
@@juliemarsden1858 yes, I know that version, I like the video and how they reversed the roles so to make it a full story. But the original was always my favourite Abba song - even though it's only Agneta singing and it doesn't feel all that Abba anymore...
This was ABBA on their way out but great band and everyone has Australia to thank as we wanted more so the did videos only for Australia and then after 18mths later music shows in the UK were saying WHAT we have to check out why this band who won Eurovision are still going because Eurovision winners just disappear when the show ends. But us Aussies new better. They even made a movie while they were here
I'd like to suggest covers of ABBA's songs by a guy named Tommy Johansson, who's also Swedish, and a metal guitarist. You'll be shocked, surprised and blown away at the high notes he hits....
In the UK this song was the 4th best seller of 1980. The album was the best seller of the year, number one for 9 weeks abd at the time, had the biggest advance sales ever in the UK.
Abba = Pop Royalty ❤
yeah, the super trouper was the main spotlight which would highlight the performer on stage
the theme of the lyrics is how a performer can be facing thousands of adoring fans
but still be feeling alone & isolated
the "super trouper" is a symbol of how the performer is lit up & made to be visible & apart from everyone else
it's a paradox, to have great status & fame....yet be intensely lonely at the same time
I don't know why buthe song it must be for erectile dysfunction, it must m.U.S state must buy for that a rectile of this function
🐘🏠 "Dancing Queen"💃👸
abba were very professional musicians.
they put a lot of hard work and attention to detail into their songwriting
Anni-Frid was always my favorite !
'one of us' , 'thank you for the music' by legend ABBA~!!!
“One of Us”! Yes!!!! It’s a haunting song and their music video was interesting, featuring Agnetha setting up a new apartment after a break-up.
if you ever visit London, you must book tickets to see the ABBA Voyage live concert show here. It is incredible and like nothing else in the world. They have managed to bring ABBA back to their prime and make you believe that you are watching them on stage in front of your eyes playing all their hits in the most advanced arena of its kind, all made by the same special effects company that did Star Wars and Jurassic Park!
Amber, you are an absolute sweetheart, a delight to watch light up. Let your heart shine!
I was at a Christmas party & disco aged 14, when I 1st heard this. So it brings back good memories.
Love ABBA please Dancing Queen
HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE ABBA! I love their music!! I watch Momma Mia and Momma Mia 2 over and over again mostly because of the music! LOVE IT!
ABBA: joy, fun, innocence, and class.
ABBA Lay all your love on me is my absolute fave
abba is truly one of the only groups to produce 10/10s EVERY SINGLE TIME
ABBA -' thank you for the music', the lyrics are spot on ❤
If you guys haven't you should watch Mamma Mia
The musical was awesome too. Those shows sold out fast.
Two songwriters whose first language is not English, and they opt to end a line with the word "Glasgow". And then successfully rhyme it. A&U are something else...
Yeah! And what always amazes me is they wrote these songs before the internet. All they knew about English came from them listening to the radio, watching TV-shows and of course, studying some in school, since it is mandatory to learn English in Sweden. But my guess is that they didn't in general learn as much as people do now when people are exposed to much more english through the internet.
@@cookies6455 that's how most of us Europeans learn English lol. By the time I finally started getting English classes in school (I was 14), I and other kids were already pretty fluent.
Thanks for the belly laugh! So true!
I thought they said Tesco, had to google the lyrics. ^^
A true international star group! They sold an insane amount of albums would wide. Dancing queen was a huge Disco hit!!!
It sure was. They performed it for the first time at a concert the night before the King of Sweden got married. His wife would then be the Queen! ABBA dressed in satin 17th century-type of courtly outfits. It’s a fun video to watch.
Lisa Loeb - Stay- is a great female Friday and Edie Brickell and the new Bohemians-Circle!!!
Love you two little Soulmates!!;()
And heck - you can never go wrong with Abba!!
Cheers;)
ABBA is the king of the harmony and amazing backingvocals.
So wonderful to see young people enjoying Abba, there's so many more wonderful songs from them you haven't heard I hope you keep going with them 🥰
Without looking any details up, I can immediately tell you this got to number one, in the UK, around December 1980.
Big changes and upheavals, regarding parents divorce, and moving home happened to the 7 year old me, at that point, and my mind always gets zoomed back to that point in time, upon hearing this song.
Abba were perhaps the greatest pop band ever. Perhaps.
And oh....I say this, completely without any ego, or "I know better than you", but the much more accurate way of saying Agnetha, is to pronounce it "Ann-yetta".
Keep up the good work, people 👍
They were the best and all the members were successful singers in their own right before they became a band. They always make me smile.
The last one you did was my favourite, The Name of the Game, I believe! Well it’s one of my favourites.
Anni-Frid Lyngstad is a Mezzo Soprano and Agnetha Faltskog is a Soprano, When you blend their two voices it's pure magic.
Yes Dancing Queen is there biggest hit always played at weddings to get you up on the dance floor, they won Eurovision song contest with Waterloo, I love Gemme Gemme Gemme (a man after midnight)❤️😊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
dancing queen is a must i also love arrival its just music but fantastic.
ABBA is a one-of-a-kind band. Their music will live forever!!
When we were kids in the summers of the 70s, we spent the whole day in the pool. When we came out, we'd be cold. Mom would throw some ABBA records on the stereo and we'd dance til we got warmed up again. Oh how we loved ABBA...still do. (we also danced to Herb Alpert And The Tijauna Brass)!
The first single I ever bought with my first weeks wages! I played it to death, it was number 1 over here in the U.K . Abba were huge in Britain, perfect pop then, now and forever.
I must also add I think you are a terrific couple, a credit to America in these aggressive times. Just watching you both makes me smile! Like when I look at my dear old mums photo…..a rare natural talent……do not change! All the best good people.
IMO This was among the best, if not THE best of ABBAs hits. "Dancing Queen" is the one a lot of people would put as their best - but I much prefer this one. It has it all.
I love the ABBA song "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do"
Anni-Frid is amazing!!! ❤❤❤❤❤💕💕💚💚💚💚❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥👍👍👍👍
Perhaps the perfect pop group. Such wonderful composition, production and performance. Got to be among the best of all time.
"Dancing Queen" and "Head Over Heels" are great songs, as are "One Of Us" and "The Day Before You Came" which herald the break-up and end of ABBA. All will not disappoint.
