Rasputin was a real man in Russia when the Russian Czars were nearing the end of their rule. He was some sort of Priest, but mostly acted like a witch doctor, and the Queen (Czarina) thought he had special powers that could help cure her son (the Prince Alexei) of haemophilia. She kept on summoning Rasputin to the Palace to pray over her son, and this resulted in the Russian commoners suspecting her of having an affair with him. The Russian noblility wanted him dead to put an end to these rumours, so they invited him to the Palace and tried poisonong his wine. It didn't kill him, so they chased him out of the Palace and shot him to death. They found his body in the river outside the Palace.
Rasputin was notorious for his interactions with the noble women. He believed the only way to purge himself of sin was to commit it. This mindset made many a noble husband very angry. Eventually they decided to have him killed. They poisoned, stabbed, shot him only for him to escape and drown. However he foresaw this and made said if he dies by being murdered by nobility then the King and Queen of Russia will fall as well. Which came true. What's more the mystery of the missing daughter Anastasia would also unfold from these events.
The movie with Tom Baker (1975 Doctor Who) was great.
Truth is stranger than fiction
As I heard it recounted, he also talked Czar Nicholas to go the frontline since this was during WWI. With the Tsar away, and thus Rasputin and the Czarina left alone, plus the scandalous rumors between those two, Russians started wondering who was really leading the country.
Also fun fact for those who didn't notice: Czar (Tsar), and Kaiser (like Kaiser Otto von Bismark) derive from the word Caesar, as in Julius Caesar.
@@chrislancaster I didn't know that, so naturally, I looked it up. MAN!!! That is a DONG!!! I have to keep reading an article on it, because it might not actually be his, but if it is...a lot of ladies were walking crooked the next morning.
"I'm so confused." On another reaction site, a commenter wrote, "A Jamaican band, with a German composer, wearing Asian clothing, at concert in Poland."
The guy was dutch.
@FIGHTFANNERD10 The guy,Bobby, sang only during concerts.
In studio was it a german producer. He sang already the first song when there was no group at all.
Bobby was no great singer and the producer had already launched his own voice as male Boney M. voice so in fact he could not change that voice. 2 ladies of Boney M. did however all female voices and the producer also high (falsetto) voices.
Bobby was and in fact the whole group only there to dance and perform the first song. But finally became they a semi real group because 2 ladies were singers and not only dancers, showladies.
Amazing 😂
Singing about a russian guy
Mr worldwide
They were huge in the 70s and early 80s, listen to Daddy Cool and Ma baker. In many Europian countries they had countles #1 hits.
Another Milli Vanilli, lip synced live shows. Loved the music thou.
And Australia
YEs please do Ma baker!!!
Extremely popular in South Asia too
They also sing “By the Rivers of Babylon” which became a hit.
It s a cover tho
And Brown Girl In The Ring which was the B side of that record. It was I think the biggest selling UK single of 1978 and one of the biggest selling singles of all time. In total the 2 songs spent 10 weeks at Number One.
Also Mary's boy child Jesus Christ was their Christmas Song
Or, to be more precise, they lipsync.
@@DerekDominoes lip sync was generally required on light entertainment programmes of the era. All analogue mixing
Boney M isn't the name of the guy dancing, it's the name of the entire outfit - a band name. :)
They were about as big as can be in the late 70s. "Rivers of Babylon" still ranks as one of the bestselling singles of all time in the UK to this day. Other big hits worth checking out are 'Brown Girl In The Ring', 'Ma Baker' and 'Daddy Cool'. They also did a great cover of the 1950s Christmas classic 'Mary's Boy Child'.
"Rivers of Babylon" is probably world's biggest selling single of the 1970s .
Mary's Boy Child, is inspiring. I post it near Christmas every year for nearly a decade now.
Yup, they were absolutely huge for a short period of time. Entertaining lyrics.
@@matthewpaul1111 my aunt always plays Boney M Christmas to this day.
The guy dancing is Bobby Farrell. Fun fact: in an amazing coincidence, he died not just in the same city, but also on the same date Rasputin died.
Boney M. was a Euro-Caribbean vocal group created by German record producer Frank .Farian (also responsible for Milli Vanilli), who was the group's primary songwriter. Originally based in West Germany, the four original members of the group's official line-up were Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett from Jamaica, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Farrell from Aruba (2 of these didn’t actually provide the vocals on the songs) The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s.
Rasputin it is a song about Grigori Rasputin, a friend and advisor of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and his family during the early 20th century. The song describes Rasputin as a playboy, mystical healer, and political manipulator. The song accurately re-tells many of the unfavorable contemporary rumours that damaged Rasputin's reputation and led to his assassination.
Other hits are “Daddy Cool", "Ma Baker", "Belfast", "Sunny", "Mary's Boy Child - Oh My Lord" ,”Rivers of Babylon". “Brown Girl in the Ring”
Frank Farian was also the singer, and as he didn’t want to do scene appearances he decided to create all the Caribbean character thing to promote his own music… then the group had got so much success so he had to continue… and years later he created the group Milli Vanilli which was a real scandal at that time…
Responsible for Milli Vanilli??? Now I get it. Cause the main guy in this group was just lip syncing as well.... Seems this guy has an obsession with lip syncing....
Watching Asia's facial expressions through this video 🤣😂
Boney M. is a Euro-Caribbean vocal group that was formed in 1976. I had their greatest hits album. This group had a lot of great songs such as "Daddy Cool", "Ma Baker", "Belfast", "Sunny", "Rivers Of Babylon", "No Woman No Cry", "Brown Girl In The Ring", "Painter Man", "Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday" etc. The videos are quite funny with Bobby Farrell's dancing.
"Rasputin" was an actual person. He was a Russian mystic & self-proclaimed holy man who befriended the family of Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia. Rasputin began acting as a healer for the imperial couple's only son, Alexei, who suffered from hemophilia. He was later assassinated.
In order to be a vocal group they would have had to sing instead of lip sync. This was the dry run for Milli Vanilli by the same producer.
@@1dkappe the woman in the group sang but your right, the guy in the group never sang. Frank Farian's the producer of Boney M is the male voice you always hear. He also produced Mili Vanili. Liz Mitchell was the lead singer in the group and she never lip synced.
German Band
@@dp67dl93 they didn’t sing initially. The vocals on their first hit were originally sung by a pair of sisters. Once it hit the charts, the producer recruited the dancers that made up the live act.
@@1dkappe No the women did sing and bobby didn’t
This was a huge end of the night hit in the bars during the mid 90s. Also at weddings!!! My husband is Ukrainian (although Rasputin was Russian) and all his brothers danced this song at our wedding. So much fun!!! And laughs! I live in a community that has a large Ukrainian population. These boys would hit the ground and kick their Ukrainian dance moves…thighs of steel, lol!
Came out in 1978
@@lipby sure, but in my home town it was more popular in the 90s.
He was literally pinging off his head in this concert...and he kills it, brilliant concert! Loved Boney M, my mums fave band ever so I was brought up on it, love em. :)
me too, my mum loved them
This song will get any dance party going!
This song is so dope. Thank you for reacting to this. It’s worth checking out the history on Rasputin. This song covers true events of him.
First time myself with Bony M I must decline respectfully.
Althought, the voice is not from the frontman. It is playback
@@dornbrinkman5117 You may have been turned off by his crazy dancing. If you like Christian music try 'Mary's boy child' I post it every Christmas. And the singer is much more calm in his dancing lol
Rasputin was a Russian mystic, his dance was traditional Russian dancing and the baseline was the basic beat of Russian music. The ladies were dressed as Russian ladies of court.
Ahah noo😂😂dance its no russian, dressed its not russian.....its idiots parady.
Im from Russia
Lots of great songs including my fave Christmas carol, 'Mary's Boy Child'.
I had no idea they sang its my favorite Christmas song
Bobby Farrell (+) was just a dancer, the real singer was the producer Frank Farian. If you react to other Boney M videos you'll notice how bad he was at lip syncing
I guess it helped that he danced around so much, so you couldn't really see his face too well.
I knew the voice sounded familiar.
he sang live but played over by the original released recording
Boney M reminds me of my childhood. They were HUGE in the UK. I adored them.
The male vocals are actually done by another dude, he was also involved with Milli Vanilli as well 😉
It was Frank Farian a German Songwriter and Producer.
The dude (I'm just a dancing monkey) his own description of his contribution never made the claim he sang on anything.. He's always been upfront and honest as to what he did or didn't do in this case. So for those claiming he done or Bony for that matter a Milli Vanilli are a bit off target.
Yea bobby was the only one in the band who didn’t sing and there’s stories going round saying the women didn’t sing either but they did.
@@gerardhiggins4827 Frank Farian started Boney M as fun project without any actual lineup. Only when TV-stations asked for "them" to perform on their shows, he started hiring a lineup. The details can be found on Wikipedia.
@@gerardhiggins4827 only two female voices 1 lady didn't sing.but on stage they were okay and sang everybody.
My daughters (21, 19 & 14) absolutely LOVE this song!
Boney M were fun. Lots of hits and christmas songs too.
Boney M is great! It's become a sort of family tradition in my wife's family to listen to Boney M's Christmas Album. The shirtless guy is always carrying on like that in every song.
My mother listened to Boney M. Greetings from Finland.
This is the best reaction ever!? Heard this song hundreds of times!?
The dance of the frontman is legendary, lol! I saw Boney M 2001 live, without the front singer who passed away to soon.
Next up: 'Daddy Cool'... Y'all weren't ready for Boney M. 🤣 We weren't either when he came out , Lol... MC Hammer pants, before MC Hammer 😜
Boney M was the most famous band in the USSR and in Europe and Asia. Even ABBA couldn't do it
He was like a black version of Micheal Jackson.
They were huge but I don't know about being greater than ABBA! That's very debatable.
@@debelix I might even got so far as to say it's wrong.
I heard Daddy Cool in '77 in Mombasa, Kenya & NEVER heard another song or heard about them for my entire life until 2020 when I found videos on youtube. So they weren't that popular or huge. As a musician myself I also paid attention to the music scene. Still....zip.
@@debelixi would say so in SEAsia, at least. My dad told me during the disco era you hear Boney M everywhere.
Boney M”Daddy Cool” is hilarious
Would you believe that this is one of the original manufactured groups. It's all organized, arranged, written and lead sung by a Euro white guy named Frank Farian. Oh, and it's awesome!
Not entirely. Liz Mitchell was the voice of the group and she was a great singer.
A bit of a precursor to the Milli Vanilli production setup.
@@lewisner marcia was a real singer too!
@@Music-tg5is a little bit.
Totally seen was Boney M. not a fake group.Toured live with musicians. This is not a live concert.
@@superdiscofan7997 Yes and collectively they were one of the greatest bands of the 70s. Their music just cheers you up whenever you hear it.
This song is awesome! It is about the man Grigory Rasputin whom single handedly brought down the Romanoff dynasty in Russia, which led to the Bolsheviks which was the beginning of the USSR.
Not really into anything Russian arm
Rasputin was a creepy character in Russian history he was also called the Mad Monk. He had influence over Russian Queen Alexandra because she was looking for a cure for her son’s hemophilia. He was killed by his enemies
The front man is the 70’s version of Milli Vanill. I think he’s actually a DJ from some Mediterranean party island. He’s just lip syncs and dances, no singing involved. The ladies are the singers. Try Rivers of Babylon or the xmas classic Feliz Navidd.
Boney M was such a good constructed group, and many of the songs still hold up so well. The Christmas Album in particular is a classic around christmas time, at least for me. The story behind Boney M and the years after are well worth a watch or read, in particular Frank Farian, the german producer and the lead Bobby Farrell.
They were from the Dutch Antilles but the guy was German or something like that. The sound is disco with a little bit of Dutch folklore dancing and Kozachok (a Russian dance) because of the theme of the song. They're wearing kinda traditional Russian looking clothes but a very free interpretation. This was a mega hit back in the day, so much so that it's become a classic of disco music, it's been used a lot in movies and TV and there have been many covers.
You are so wrong. Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett are Jamaican, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Farrell from Aruba
Boney M..amazing! I just this group! So glad you found them. They have so many great songs. Check out Rivers of Babylon ..and then of course their Christmas album is a necessity!!
Rasputin was the first Boney M song which struck to my ear drums when i was 8 or 9 years. My elder brother used to enjoy this song singing and dancing. Since then it has been ever green.
One could always get carried away dancing to Boney M, specially this one, love them and all their song's,
Kings of the dance!!!!!!LOL♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
They were one of the biggest Groups during The Disco Era. They also had a Hit called Rivers Of Babylon taken from a Bible Verse. They also had Daddy Cool, and their Version of Sunny. If you listen carefully you may have heard them in Boogie Nights at the beginning.
As soon as a Boney M song comes on, it gets everyone singing along.
Jamaican group from Germany singing about Rasputin a famous Russian with a mix of folk Russian and Turkish music with Disco parts
Bony M has an amazing Christmas album! This one is fun. A lot of their songs were played in disco's back in the day.
Russian Cossack dance he’s mimicking. Rasputin was real , he was a preacher over a hundred years ago. The Queen was convinced he could heal her son. This is one of my favourite songs ever. I used to be able to dance like him the whole song. I can’t believe you’ve never heard this. River of Babylon is a great song, I cry every time I hear it.
Its not russian dance....its funny kids parody))
The male singer and the background singers were caribeans, they had a german producer and they were huge in europe in the 70's and 80's, the male singer the one hopping around lived in the Netherlands till he died...
In Germany in February 1976, producer Frank Farian put together the formation of Bobby Farrell, Maizie Williams, Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell. All were born in the Caribbean and came to Europe as children or teenagers. In September 1976 they were seen on German television for the first time with the song "Daddy Cool".
The quartet were the first pop group in a long time to be welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II, who named them "the most successful pop group in England 1978". In the Soviet Union, General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev personally gave Boney M. permission that same year to become the first western group to give ten concerts in the Soviet Union. Boney M. danced during the tour with the backing group Black Beautiful Circus in front of about 2700 spectators on Red Square in Moscow.
YOU CAN'T HELP BUT START TO MOVE WHEN THIS SONG IS PLAYED!!!
Boney M! Disco, funk of the '70s and '80s. They were great. "Ma Baker" and "Daddy Cool" should be next!
Good looking people in that group.
It's possible to listen to just the bass line in this and it's still extremely entertaining. BTW, the looks on your faces, when he first begins to sing, were both hilarious and priceless. Thanks. That finished off a work day nicely.
In 77' I was sitting in a bar in Mombasa, Kenya listening to Daddy Cool by Boney M for the only time in my life until 2020. One time & that tune was in my head for years. I was drinking a "Tuskers" beer. Had an elephant on the label.
Boney M is classic. My parents used to listen to them along side with ABBA when they had parties.
So about Rasputin. He was a Siberian born mysterious monk. He was a woman chaser. He used his religious powers as healing people and of course mostly women, where he used sex to heal them. He later on got poisoned and killed.
Ohhhh this bring back so much memories. My granfather would be jammin to this in the living room, been a long time tho now, RIP gramps 1998
Asia I got tears in my eyes by laughing when you laugh . And btw unbelievable you never heard Boney M . Great reaction like always .
I’m 58 and I have never heard of them either until about a year or two ago. I know they were big in other countries but apparently they didn’t get airplay in America.
Abba and Boney M were my childhood favorit music….

Boney M are great, please check out their other hits like "Rivers of Babylon", "Ma Baker", "Sunny", "Daddy Cool", "Gotta Go Home", "Brown Girl in the Ring", . ..
and please also in the "Sopot Festival 1979" versions, these are the best.
Boney M are definitely the most popular disco act everywhere except the US. Everything they did in the 1970s was a global million seller. Between 1977-79 they were the no 1 selling artists in Europe, knocking Abba off the top on more than dozen occasions. In fact none artist had sold more records worldwide in one calendar year during the entire 1970s than Boney M did in 1978. The highest figure of the entire decade.
Daddy Cool is ace. As a young kid in 70s UK this was ace disco. My wife has Boney M on her Amazon playlist. Mary’s Boy Child is an absolute Christmas song and is qusliry
this song has always been so much fun!! so glad you found this. TY again guys, wonderful as always ♥
Thank you two for reacting to this great song from the late 70's! This song is our family song, danced and sung to with much energy and enthusiasm (if little talent) at every family wedding!!
Boney M are the gods of the 70's :) this epic song just like other songs by Boney M are so legendary , amazing performance , thank you Asia and BJ for this awsome reaction , could you please to make reaction of another huge hit just like Rasputin it's called Ma Baker by Boney M live in Sopot Festival 1979? :)
I wasn't into Disco but I loved Boney M from the start. You can't hear their music and not feel happy. There's a clip of them doing "No Woman No Cry" live and Liz Mitchell was awesome live.
Boney M greatest hits are my favorite christmas party music since I am a kid....from Québec !
Not difficult to dance all along that song ! He does not sing much .. You guys need to watch a live concert of Madonna during his prime decades ..2+hours show singing and dancing..
Boney M are looking weird in videos, often..the 'singer' is bizarre, but their beats I can't resist! :o)
You two made me laugh so much 😂😂😂 Thanks for that
Rasputin, Rivers of Babylon, Brown Girl in the Ring, Daddy Cool and so much more! Back when disco was still alive
Boney M has sold more than 150 million records worldwide!
Classic song, have a listen to their Christmas song ‘Mary’s boy child/ oh my Lord’ if you get chance 👍
Glad you’re both well 💛
Oh man, I never thought I’d see this song on a reaction channel, haha. My 4 year old son is OBSESSED with this song, dances and sings to it and everything.
International Song Festival in Sopot Poland was very popular in 70s
Woohoooo Boney M!!! Now this takes me back😂
Boney M had that as theyr image, they had really "theatrical" outfits. They put on a live show with every song they have. His dance was a mix of Russian Folk Dance mixed with the more known Riverdance. The Russian dance is called Kazotsky Kick. Daddy Cool or Rivers Of Babylon is 2 other favourite songs of mine with this band. Mom loved them,so i grew up on them.
Rasputin walked barefoot from Russia to Greece on pilgrimage. He was a mystic, possibly a Khlysti. Extraordinary green eyes and presence as can be seen on photos from the time.
Indian medical students' dance on this songs had gone viral recently and this song became quite popular here (u can watch it too). I'm in love with this song ❤️
The lead singer of Boney M who was doing the energetic dancing in this video is Bobby Farrell who was born on island of Aruba (Netherlands) which means that he was actually Dutch.
The Dutch are generally quite tall people.
Other songs by Boney M.:
Daddy Cool
Ma Baker (a song about a really badass woman, consequent to the core)
Belfast (a song about the conflict between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland)
Rivers Of Babylon (a song about the Exodus, as mentioned in the Bible)
The Calendar Song (a song with many words) =8;-)
Mary's Boy Child (a Christmas song about "Mary's boy child Jesus Christ")
Night Flight To Venus (title track from their Night flight To Venus album)
Sunny
Brown Girl In The Ring
Painter Man
No Woman No Cry
Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday
Gotta Go Home
Rasputin, a Siberian-born muzhik, or peasant, who underwent a religious conversion as a teenager and proclaimed himself a healer with the ability to predict the future, won the favor of Czar Nicholas II and Czarina Alexandra through his ability to stop the bleeding of their hemophiliac son, Alexei, in 1908.
Boney M was a group producent and invented by Frank Farian. The Male Voice you can hear was from Frank Farian himself.
Bobby Farell was the Showact and Dancer in the Front. He never sing a peace of the songs. He past away in 2010.
The Group was a big success in Europe. They sale more than 150 Billion Records.
Only Liz Mitchel and Maizie Willams sing original on the records.
But against the scandal with Milli Vanilli (they came from the same Producer) was the fact that the information that only two from the four bandmembers original sing was know by the public and press.
The reaction when he sits down is hilarious 😂
Asia, the look on your face is priceless. To be fair, you are quite right to be confused. Producer of Boney M was Frank Farian (German producer, singer and composer >800 Mio. records sold). He was very successfull not only with Boney M. but later with MiIli Vanilli. He was always able to put a lot of himself in his songs. **wink wink**
This was a DJs fav here for decades. It was a song that got folks on the dance floor. That was cut short... there is more to the song.
Wham bam thank you Boney M
One can not only feel the love but also see the love they have to their music when they preform. Many artists today just go on stage and sing their songs, but Boney M "live" their music on the stage. Rip Bobby Farrell
When this songs plays on my list at the gym on the treadmill instantly energy goes up, ma baker too
Euro (German) Caribbean group, very popular in the 70s. When I was a kid I enjoyed watching them. The guy in the group danced in most of their songs, the girls were usually the main singers. By The Rivers of Babylon was one if the biggest hits.
Oh man this is a classic!
My introduction to drums was Night Flight to Venus I love this
Boney M is among the best disco groups there back in the day when disco was playing..I like them. Good song! I hope you two can do more Boney M reactions..I would suggest Ma Baker as a really good example..Ma Baker is a really good Boney M song. You will love it! :)
I prefer Ma Baker as well, or One Way Ticket, or Daddy Cool.
they were super popular, and they are still universal favorites. the video is actually from my side, Bulgaria. Everyone here loved them, and no one cared that they were from the "bad capitalist west".Bobby Farrell is just great !!
Bobby Farrell was the dancer in the group. Their music was produced in Germany by Frank Farian, the same guy who would go on to produce Milli Vanilli in the 90's. Bobby is not singing on the tracks, that was Frank Farian singing. But if you look at all the Boney M videos on RUclips you will see that this is what Bobby did in every song, dancing around like crazy. The women loved him, as did a lot of the guys (wink, wink, hehehe). Check out "Ma Baker" and "Daddy Cool" as well. They were one of the hottest groups in Europe at that time. I discovered this song when I first heard it in a gay club in Seattle back in the day.
This is the first 45 I ever bought. Still play it. 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
Love Boney M more please, he's crazy, but it so good 💃🕺❤ Daddy Cool, and Ma Baker, Brown girl in the ring, all good.
Frank Fahrian the Mastermind behind Boney M. and the voice of Bobby Farrell
I'm with the look on Asia's face; I was always confused by Boney M. LOL
Boney M was a disco group put together around 1976 by W. German producer Frank Farian (who later created the duo Milli Vanilli) w/ four Caribbean singers/performers... 3 women served as the lead singers, the main being Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett (the 3rd Maizie Williams was not prominently featured) and Bobby Farrell was the male - he was hired more for his dancing skills; his vocals were actually pre-recorded by Frank Farian himself and distorted. (The late Bobby) Farrell was the pre-cursor to Michael Jackson... he lip-synced the vocals, but he was a fantastic performer.
Frank Farian debuted Boney M in 1976, and by 1978, they were at a commercial peak, selling millions of records and became superstars in Europe and Asia, but they were mostly ignored in the US... They actually were invited to perform in the USSR. And w/ success came excess... by 1980, Bobby Farrell was fired for 'unreliability' (Reggie Tsiboe took over his role). However, Boney M began to decline in the early 80's after disco fell out of popularity... their next 2 albums '10,000 light years' and 'Eye dance' failed commercially by 1985 and the group split up.
Each member toured as "Boney M" afterwards, but w/ stand-ins performing... Bobby Farrell passed away in 2010.
She quickly went from “you gotta be kidding me” to fascination.
These were big in UK and Europe in the 1970 and many hits.
You should read about Rasputin, he was a huge figure in 19th century. And the song is pretty accurate, he was invited to a party, they tried poisoning him, he felt it and tried to escape. So they stabbed him multiple time but despite his injuries he escaped, jumped into a partially frozen river and made it to another side. However they caught up to him and shot him.
Boney M is a Jamaican pop band, 3 girls one guy. I grew up in 70s in Ukraine, Abba and Boney M were most popular back then, we didn't have much exposure to western music.
A little known fact is the women were the true talent of the group, as the male was not singing at all, and was miming on ALL the songs with the real voice being of the groups producer Frank Farian.
This song was actually banned from the Hungarian radio, because it ends with a sentence: Oh Those Russians, but of course they played it in the discos for the delight of those on the dance floor!
Lol 😆 great reactions! Love Boney M
Asia's nails always looking fabulous!
Rasputin was considered to be somewhat of a mystic. A preacher who supposedly had 'powers'. He had a presence about him that the ladies of the Russian Royal House would swoon over him. It was thought by many people he was having affairs, especially with the Czarina (Queen).
He was a plant by the Jesuits to destabilize the Romanov family.
He took over the priest for health of her son, who was giving him basic warfren which is the worst thing for his condition. Making it like he saved him when was just like to get influence and good master manipulator
This was from a consert with many songs, so I think the singing ladies dresses was for their megahit "Rivers of Babylon"
The tale of a Russian historical figure of the 19-teens, as told through a disco-funk tune, performed by a German/Afro/Carribean pop group in the 1970s.
What a very strange combination, that on paper seems like it could never work. But it did. And still does.
I was first introduced to this song through a college friend of mine who made a mix-tape (late 1990s) that included a cover by the group Boiled In Lead. Since then, I've heard several versions, including of course the original Boney M release. It just works.
You have to cover more Boney M. They have a ton of fantastic songs.. Thanks for reacting to this.. Hope you do more in the future. I highly recommend "Daddy Cool"..
Naughty, naughty Rasputin ! As the myths go when I was a toddler I was always dancing along when Bony M played on the radio. I've no recollection of it but am proud anyway :)
