    First video I've found that adds the fact u can also lessen the amount of boost, most people don't realize that's important to not blow up something

      Was brand new to turbo’d vehicles and nobody informed me of this or had good videos, most said to take it to a shop and have it tuned but the motor and transmission for my vehicle is already forged and ready to handle the turbo since the turbo was an option for it. This video helped a lot

    I just picked up a used 62/65/12, so if I'm understanding this right, if I set the regulator on my compressor at 40psi and adjust the wastegate until it just starts to move at the at pressure, thats what boost I should see on my gauge, and slightly more with a spike?

    let me see if i got this right ... soo im with a4 b5 1.8t and my rod is kind of different but nvm so ... the rod needs to shorten by wich i mean to push it inside the actuator thingy for more boost .. but if i pull it out from the actuator it will lower the boost ?

    Howdy! My turbocharger was at a repair center. I have a Wv Polo 1.2 Tdi. After reconditioned when put into operation it generates error code P2564 position sensor signal too weak. The geometry actuator contains a position sensor. I suspect that the sensor calibration was not done effectively. I understood that for the minimum there must be a value of 0.760 volts, for the maximum I do not know for sure... 3.800 volts or 4.100 volts. What can you advise me to calibrate the correct values?

      Good point sir, my rodeo (last of Isuzu eng) creates enough boost to actuate the bleed at half throttle lol. They be just pissing pressure away for nothing. And for those saying just remove the bov? What about internal ones spidered into the egr and exhaust sensors ect? Remove them too? I mean at that point your into thousands for different manifolds, circulation systems, exhaust sensor deletes, remaps ect to get it to run properly . All just so your car goes ssssssssss for possibly 0% gains? Have fun keeping that registered. I was going to do this videos recommendations but guess what problems I ran into? Not all cars are equal ask someone that actually knows your car first

    • @TheTomco11
      @TheTomco11 2 года назад

      Not so important on a diesel, you want a boost gauge and egt gauge so you can keep an eye on everything though. As long as you keep your egt's safe you just give it as much diesel as it'll take without making smoke

    Ok probably a dumb question but is that adjusting method going to apply for pretty much all wastegates? Thinking about getting into the turbo life and just trying to do some research. Found a car I want to buy that the owner says the current wastegate wont hold the proper Boost pressure and he thinks it needs a new one. Would be nice if I could do something like this to have a easy fix instead of buying/replacing it.

    • @looncraz
      @looncraz 6 лет назад

      A wastegate that once built full pressure and now doesn't is either sitting behind a faulty BCV/TCV (Bypass/Turbo Control Valve) or has a leak in the wastegate diaphragm. The BCV/TCV failure is very common - some cars have them fail as often as every 40~50k miles.

      Simply remove the little c-clip pull off the linkage and spin it. To put it back on you'll need to pressurize the tube with appx. 30-40 psi (no more than that) and then put the pin back in the hole, replace the c-clip.
