    Thanks for posting easy explanation of how to set up starting point and fine tune your boost ...and important at the end don't overboost or it will lean out and damage stuff .
    Anyone attempting to do this should read up and see what turbo they have and what stock boost psi it's set to this is a starting point you shorten the rod to add more or lengthen it to subtract to get to desired spec thanks 😊👍

    if i didnt get anything wrong, you ve increased the arm length of the actuator. but it reduces the regulated pressure. it will open the by-pass way sooner than before. you need to decrease and take the spring force so the spring activates later. this would have increase pressure but could damage inlet pipes and intercooler.

      BuUtY EaTer Early model gearbox’s where not very strong. The later GM trans was better. I lived in Sweden for some years and have adjusted boost in various ways and I only encountered a problem once with a blown head gasket. However it was a mileage vehicle. Yes it does work,,,, but with risks !

      Hi Jon, do you know what's the stock pressure that opens the wastegate actuator valve on a NG 9-3 14T turbo?

    Ben fatto. Gradirei sapere per una Opel Vectra sw DTH 2.0 74 kw 101 cv come va regolata l'asta wastegate in quanto il turbo non spinge forte. Inoltre ho comprato la wastegate nuova. Posso misurare con pompa a depressione? Grazie

    You can tell me what you did in the video you put pressure on the turbo or you drop it?

    • @TheSamiswellcool
      @TheSamiswellcool 6 лет назад

      When you back it off you drop the boost. Tightening it will raise it. As he said he backed it off to about 16 pounds. Then every turn to tighten it roughly increases it by 1 pound.

    I'm so confused, I'm going with a standalone ecu, that lets me set boost. Should I set the PSI on that or mess with the actuator rod?

    • @BC2FITTY
      @BC2FITTY 3 года назад +1

      Buy a aftermarket adjustable waste gate actuator that has adjustable springs, the ecu will adjust the boost electronically but for example if your turbo can handle 30+psi but your wastegate actuator will only hold 15psi even tho you set your ecu to 20+psi it will only be at 15psi if boost because of your stock actuator.
      See the turbos limits on max psi ratings and look into upgrading the wastegate actuator or leave it completely open to get the stututu sound and then adjust your standalone accordingly.

    I dont have power while accelarating and feel the actuator on my car , it was loose , could move it in and out.
    So now I learn from the video that mine actuator is broken , is it something repairable or changeable ?

    Hi. I have audi a4 b5 1.9 66kw ahu engine. I want make 16 psi . What yuo show in this video is good for my turbo?

    • @turbobuicks1015
      @turbobuicks1015  4 года назад +2

      No...this is strictly for TR's...and you have to add fuel as you raise boost or the engine will lean out. You also have to be aware of heat/humidity as well. It's a real balancing act.
