Hey guys! We’re so sorry that the music is loud and distracting in this video! It was one of our very first videos we did, and unfortunately we can’t change the music on it now, but have remedied the music in our newer videos. Thanks for watching! 😘, CC & LULU
Thank you ever so much for a thorough instructional video. I didn't inherit the sewing gene that my mother had nor my sister has in abundance. . . . . .I do believe I can surprise everyone with these handy towels!
I am so happy I found your site. I have been hit by a train and dragged 50 feet. I have not been near the sewing machine for 12 years and my husband said I am doing great. Thank you for your instructions I was able to follow them with no difficulty. Patricia
I remember older relatives having these around and now I'm an older relative. These aren't only CUTE but functional-- like aprons they are an aid that never goes out of style.
I'm not a sewer but I am going to try this. I loved how Ms. CC described everything and the music wasn't too distracting. In fact, for me, it added to the charm. Kept things "happy", engaging, and moving right along. I am going to try this idea for my guest bathroom. I find hand towels tend to slide off the towel bar or towel ring. Creating a decorative top for them with a fastener will help that. Thanks for this idea!!
Cute idea. CC, if they can't find buttons w/shank or want to use what they have, this is an old trick. When sewing button, put a toothpick behind button and sew around it. When done & pull pick out, it will be loose to fit in loop better. You can use tape on pick to hold in place
That's how I learned to sew my buttons on way back in the 1960s. Then I'd wrap my thread in a circular motion behind the button on the good side, making a little "tower" so the button won't slip in the button hole. Plus ... I use a toothpick when I machine stitch my buttons.
Really really liked this project & the freedom to choose the towels & hot pads. Plus I can remember all of this as it's practical & common sense!!! Thank you for sharing💞
When I saw the hanging towel, I thought a mistake happened because I couldn't figure out how they planned to hang a towel on a handle with no open edges to slide the loop on the hot pad thru. I thought the button was a decorative element because I didn't realize the hot pads "loop" was the button's secure loop. Was I happy and surprised to see how she looped the hot pad loop over the button on the stove's handle. I realized there was a specific purpose, and decorative reason for having themed buttons! And I realized why she didn't sew the edges of the hot pad together. I love this idea and your method is amazing. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate you making this how to video and sharing your method. I intend to make these as thank you gifts for those who buy my quilt tops online. Also, I'm a sewer who does know, or want to take the time to learn all of the fancy stitches and features on my high end sewing machine.
New subbie here! My name is Diana Romero it will be 40 yrs for my hubby and I this Dec and I live in Massachusetts. CC you and I have so much in common, I love to craft as well, am 60 yrs old,Very family oriented, and I love Jesus! Tfs. Diana
We do seem to have a lot in common! We are so blessed to have become acquainted with so many wonderful people through our RUclips channel, and wish we had the opportunity to meet you all! Thanks for watching and happy sewing! 💗, CC
I must say I didn't even notice the music. This is such a cute idea! I love how you used inexpensive supplies. You do a great job showing the steps, and I'm happy you showed how to put it on the oven door. I usually crochet the tops, but lately I'm getting interested in doing more sewing.
Thank you so much for DIY video today love all the beautiful things that you have put together and sharing with us today. Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy thank you so much for an awesome DIY project .
Nice video. A walking foot makes it easier to sew through the thickness. Also, rather than gathering the towel, I make pleats. It lays flatter in the stove.
It was a delight watching this video. You know we lost one of our sewing treasures this week...Nancy Zieman. I learned how to sew watching her on television. She would have loved your video. Make more kitchen ideas! ❤️
Looks so easy. I'll have to try it. I love homemade gifts. They are the best. The video was so detailed. I loved the tips at the end. Thanks for sharing your video.
These are so cute, I am making them for myself and they would make great gifts. I never noticed the music. You explained that video so well and the step by step instructions were great. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to many more.
I was just watching this as I started out to make one of these for the first time. Thanks to your tips I realize now that my towel is too thick and I like the type of buttons you use so I'll hold off until I can get those instead. Great job. I enjoyed it. Thanks!
this is one of the best vidios I have seen on these towels thanks so much you are a natural! by the way if you can find one get yourself a pfaff it has a walking foot and glides over heavy materials . I love mine!
I just finished watching a video on how to make the tea towel dresses and I must say I am so glad I found your video. Having never made anything before this is the perfect project for me to start learning. Maybe I'll graduate to more complicated projects after some practice. Thanks!
These towels are great idea. As a child we had one. The top was different but they fit where no other towel would and they don’t drop on the floor every time you use them.👍🏻
I love your ideas! They are beautiful and simple. You are a good teacher and I look forward to watching more of your video. Can't wait to get started on making some DIY Hanging Kitchen Towels. Thank you!
So quick and easy. Thank you for showing us how to make these. I plan to make a few for my family and friends. I also made the smoothie that you made for your friend. Another quick and easy! Loved your video.
Wonderful idea for a gift.and to are very good to teach. That makes me a new subscriber for sure. Thank you for your compassion in your explaining the right amount of time you give for every one to capture all the details.
Brought towels to do this as I seen your video before and now with your help watching it again will be able to make a few thanks!!!! Thank you for Sharing!!! Just Subscribed to your channel. Liz x
Looks great ! The best sewing method I have ever seen for making Hanging Kitchen Towels. Very unique, love the tip about the buttons ! I am going to buy the materials today and give it a try. Thanks Joyce - Huntsville Al.
Thank you for the great tutorial. Definitely going to make some. Great instructions and nice with the music in the background, too. You're a great teacher. Look forward to seeing what's next....
Thank you CC. Sewing is my happiest time and place. I just made my first two hanging kitchen towels. They were so much fun. Running out to the dollar store to stock up on more - every girlfriend is getting one. Thank you again. Looking forward to your next sewing videos. Love, Kathleen
I just made 4 of these for my son's kitchen. He is a chef and a lover of wine. I cut my towels in half and got for towels for $$4 total at the Dollar tree. I have also done these with a crocheted topper but I love the pot holders better.
Omg, this is amazing! Great idea!!! My grandma used to make these kind of towels with the crocheted top. I can’t duplicate them because I don’t have the talent (or patience) to crochet that well. This is something I think I can do! Thank you for sharing!!!
The kitchen towels are adorable and so are you. Love this idea and will make one day. The music wasn't bad at all, but the repetitive noise does get a little annoying when trying to concentrate. You can't please everyone, so just do your thing ladies. Great job xo
I do mine totally different. I love your idea with the hot pad, and double towel. I get 2 out of 1 towel by cutting it in half. Then I have to fussy stitch the topper shape that loops over...think of the shape of the top half of a wine bottle. With a buttonhole stitched into the "cork" section to loop. Your way is much easier! And very finished looking, too!
+Nellie Dewey unfortunately, we cannot change the music in this video because it is already posted, but we have changed the music in our recent videos so that it’s not a distraction. Thanks for watching! 😘, CC and LULU
Thank you for sharing this. Your instructions are clear and easy to make this quick project. I have made many crocheted towel toppers but will be adding these to my gifts now. Thanks again!

lol, I was just thinking "damn the music". But great video and great idea. I'm going to use it.
CC and LULU ¡b/
This is a very good idea. The button you were talking about is called a "shank " button.
Thanks I can hardly wait to make mine.
why have any music at all?
Thanks for this video 👏🏻 I want to make these ! So cute 💕btw , the music didn’t bother , us watching 🙏

Loved the video I am 70 and just starting to play with a sewing machine so this project appears simple and useful Thank so much
I never thought about using a pot holder. I can't wait to try this.
Really really liked this project & the freedom to choose the towels & hot pads. Plus I can remember all of this as it's practical & common sense!!! Thank you for sharing💞
I really enjoyed this video. Loved the idea of no buttonhole.. will give this a try..

Nice video. A walking foot makes it easier to sew through the thickness. Also, rather than gathering the towel, I make pleats. It lays flatter in the stove.
I like the idea of making pleats as well.
Another easy way to gather is with the zigzag stitch ( not my link) ruclips.net/video/swmCcC10EGo/видео.html
Such a cute, crafty, and practical DIY... I love it and can not wait to try...thank you so much for taking the time to create and share!

I enjoyed the music!
I really hope they don't call that "music".
Agreed great video but I have add so I get distracted easy 😆
I do mine totally different. I love your idea with the hot pad, and double towel. I get 2 out of 1 towel by cutting it in half. Then I have to fussy stitch the topper shape that loops over...think of the shape of the top half of a wine bottle. With a buttonhole stitched into the "cork" section to loop. Your way is much easier! And very finished looking, too!
thank you for showing how to make this towel gift but PLEASE CUT OUT THE MUSIC!!!
