You are such a good teacher! I love that you include the beginner sewists in your terminology. Many young people are becoming interested in sewing and they will benefit from your expertise.
I teach people how to sew. This tutorial has several KEY beginner tips and techniques. It's a great project to include multiple techniques in one class. Thank you!
Thank you for brightening my day by just being you. I had RUclips on autoplay while I was cleaning up my sewing room and I jeatd your wonderful voice and I started feeling better. This is a very difficult time of year for me because I lost my mom, daughter then best friend to cancer during this time of year over the course of 2 years. Thanks for your wonderful tutorials and for always bringing some joy to the world.
Thanks for a great video. I really like how you go slow and explain everything. It help me a lot, because I am a visual learner. I am 61, and I have been sewing since I was 12. Love to create stuff and love to watch RUclips to see new things. Thanks again you are Awesome. And thanks for the template. ❤️
I am making hanging towels for Christmas gifts. The gathering or ruffling of the towel was giving me fits. I am sewing these by hand. I now know how to make the ruffle. Thank you! Thank you!
Whoever came up w/ the 1st hanging towel is a genius, I have a really old crochet-topped one. Like your funky fabric, great tip on the sewing machine settings for gathering...nod to you sir.
I think the "set it and forget it" was for the Ronco Rotisserie. That's what is stored in my memory box anyway. What a neato trick for gathering fabric. I've never seen that before!Always love your tutorials Mr. D.
I have seen several other examples and yours are the best by far. Your explanations are simple and too the point. I really wish I had your sewing skills. By the way, I agree with you about the straight towel. That looks so much cleaner. The ruffled one just looks too granny style to me. I will for sure be watching more of your videos.
Thank you! Not only do I have a cute gift to give my friends this Christmas, but you made my anxiety disappear. A hard morning into a very cool one. :)
I follow on Tik Tok and found you by accident while searching for how to sew terry cloth. It was like finding your friend amongst strangers. thanks for the tutorial.
Love these colors and the fabric. Is that one of your designs. When I want ruffles I use dental floss. I set the machine to zigzag and put the floss along the center of the pressure foot. I stitch just inside the seam line, zigzagging over the floss, but not catching it. This great for heavier fabric. You can really pull on the floss. It won't break!
Kam snaps are more modern & easy to use if you have the Kam snap tool. Wonder Tape is very handy for securing zips to the fabric before you sew the zip in. 🙏👌✂️
You are not old! Your towels are beautiful! I need to order some wonder tape! Thank you for sharing this. I hope you and your family have a great weekend! I'm glad you didn't fall over!!
I know the scissors as Pinking shears which are sawtoothed bladed scissors. You may have a different name in the US. Prefer the other towel for my kitchen, but, my mother-in-law will like this style so thank you. 👍🏼🐨🐨🐨
Hello I just found you and I totally enjoyed your towel video subscribed and happy I found you, you are a very great creative person thank you for sharing God Bless!!!
I worked at Hancock fabric back in the day and thought I knew everything... How did I forget about wonder tape?! I need to go buy a roll for all my sewing needs. Lol.
I got a heart....I got a heart....I got a heart from Mister Domestic!!! La la la.. (Thinking if the little rascals pickle song) 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I literally lie in bed till the early morning hours watching your videos!! Love them!!!
I do a towel something like this. But no button. It is a dress top kinda on the top. You use ribbon in the middle. Then you tie it on from the sides. Looks like a dress. This phas a front and a back. Really girly . Fast to make also. But do like the two you made a lot.
What you call a neat little trick is simply gathering - lol Of course, now we have ruffler feet for the machines. What you would really do after gathering, is put a stitch over the gathering stitch (and then remove the gathering stitch). I don't think the Wonder Tape saves any time but everyone's different :)
Will you tell me the story on how you learned how to sew? For me I first watched my mom when I was a toddler and ever since then I progressed from watching to helping to actually sewing my first garment at age 9. Now Im 55 years old and can sew just about anything.

I consider myself an experienced sewer but I had never heard of wonder tape. Thank you for enlightening me. How did I live without it for so long.
I think the "set it and forget it" was for the Ronco Rotisserie. That's what is stored in my memory box anyway. What a neato trick for gathering fabric. I've never seen that before!Always love your tutorials Mr. D.

Omg where did you find such a large roll of wonder tape!? I use it all the time and I can only find the small 10yd rolls
Question what are the tiny snips your using to snip in your curves ?! They look very sharp !
Pinking shears. I forget too. It started in my 40s. Lol
You know cool , modern fabric makes even flounce look good. Hmmm
Those scissors are called pinking shears. ✂️
I’m watching this and wondering, did no one know what the shears are called? Thank you. It took 4 years for someone to answer. So funny.
Love your videos, and where did you get that mini rotary cutter attached to your rotary cutter? Omg I love that.
Also the “set it and forget it” is from the Ron Popiel dehydrator lol
Will you tell me the story on how you learned how to sew? For me I first watched my mom when I was a toddler and ever since then I progressed from watching to helping to actually sewing my first garment at age 9. Now Im 55 years old and can sew just about anything.
