The gravel is what circuits struggle with a lot, because if they want to host both bikes and cars, they have to change the gravel greatly. Car series' ask for waves in the gravel traps whereas motorcycle series' ask for completely flat gravel traps, which is a lot of work. F1 made a change recently as they discovered flat traps were safer than the waves they had been using previously.

I don't think your comment that a lot of people don't get a chance to race, is correct. I'm a normal person, with a normal income. I ride motorcycles, have been riding on road 45 years and off road longer. I've done motocross and enduro in the 1990's, then I did classic motorcycle track racing in the 2010's, it was expensive but it was manageable. I've also done track days, they are the cheapest way to do some fast riding. Weight does impact on racing, I'm 113kg, I was 128kg when racing, I'm not competitive, unless I'm racing against someone my size, which happens a lot more than you think, and I have a lot of fun. I afford this because I don't waste money of holidays and travelling. When I want to travel, I jump on one of my motorcycles and go for a long ride somewhere.

with my height i look on a motorbike like a monkey on the angle grinder. and iam shorter as him. heheh when as a kid the bicycle heavier as you and you try to ride it.

I'm a motorsport paramedic and one of my wonderful coworkers who often works at the Australian GP has told me that at some races (maybe all), if the helicopter is in use, sessions cannot go ahead. Once they have landed at hospital and have started handing over the patient, sessions may continue. I would love to work at the GP one day on the medical team, unfortunatly I just havne't had the chance yet

Hopefully the weekend format won't change that much, actually I'd be happy if they qould do away with the sprint races or do only 1/3 of the sprint race that they are doing now. I would like to see more F2 races without the extra costs...

MotoGP is fake racing, Superbikes is real racing.

There has been a long history of dominant streaks from manufacturers in Moto GP (and other motor sports). So many times it has been linked to the talent of a single rider. Casey Stoner was a great example of this. Others, like Rossi, Doohan, Marquez, Lorenzo . . May have been equally dominant, but to do it on an unsuccessful (at the time) bike was next level. That riding style, once he learned to stay on the thing, was so great to watch. What Gigi and Ducati have done as a team is a great achievement too, and they deserve to be where they are now. A bit of serious competition wouldn’t hurt though.
