Annual Pilgrimage to Whistler
I'm not the biggest fan of riding at the bike park, but if you live in the PNW you've gotta make it up to the Whistler Bike Park at least once a year. I guess it's not much of a pilgrimage for me because it's only around a 2 hour drive, but it's still a lot further than my usual riding spots! I decided to take my Dreadnought this time to see how it handled the bike park.

Riding in my new Backyard!

A Solo Ride on Mt. Seymour
Просмотров 4194 года назад
I go for a relaxed ride on Mount Seymour, connecting Severed D. into John Deer - two trails I know very well, so my chance of injury is at a minimum. Going out for an early morning ride is a great way to get some exercise during this period of lock down, and an even better way to take your mind off of things.

I ride down Oilcan to test out my new filming set up: a go pro strapped to the chin of a Fox Proframe! I'm also trying out clipless pedals again - I picked up a pair of Crank Brothers Mallet E pedals after struggling to get along with Shimano Saint SPD pedals several times, and find that I enjoy them a lot more than Shimano's SPD system.
Getting back into it - Mount Seymour
Просмотров 1374 года назад
I haven't been able to ride in a while, but I'm getting back into things now! I kinda messed up wearing the chest harness and as a result most of the footage was too shakey to be watchable, but there was enough usable footage to make a highlights reel of sorts. Here is one of my first rides in quite some time, riding Mount Seymour on the North Shore of Vancouver!

Did the 40mm stem is as short as you would go or recommend or would you even go shorter? I am between sizes at 6'1 and sized up to a XL and currently using 800mm (maybe cutting down to 780 in future but not sure about it yet) handlebars with 35mm rise and a 50mm stem.

I've been really enjoying it. Riding the XL is kinda like sizing down for someone my height, so the bike still feels quite playful to me - I find it easy to jump and move it around etc. I have a blast riding it on steeper trails like Deliverance or fast & rough trails like Ned's, but I do find it to be a bit of a handful on flatter/ tighter trails like Upper Oilcan & Mow it Down. It's also really fun on fast flowy trails like Expresso or Ridden Art. Overall, very happy with the bike. Only downside I've found so far is if you have big calves the idler pulley/ chain will make your leg greasy.
