  • I ride down Oilcan to test out my new filming set up: a go pro strapped to the chin of a Fox Proframe! I'm also trying out clipless pedals again - I picked up a pair of Crank Brothers Mallet E pedals after struggling to get along with Shimano Saint SPD pedals several times, and find that I enjoy them a lot more than Shimano's SPD system.

Thanks for the feedback - that's what I was thinking too! I'll point it up a bit more for my next ride.

It was a good day out, there were definitely a large amount of us heading down Oilcan. I prefer the hemet mount personally. (though my helmet is too warm) My chest gimbal keeps coming loose, though I still need to get used to it.

We'll see if I still like the helmet mount once the weather warms up haha. I do like the simplicity of it though, the effort to results ratio is quite high.

@@lost_in_the_woods Thats when I switched to a chest mount last year (not that I've recorded much for a while) The helmet mount was great at Whistler where you don't need to climb, but when you're going up either of the climbing trails on Fromme or Seymour that full face can get too hot.

Mate you picked a hell of a trail to go clipless . That trail was bad arse 🤘. DO NOT change a thing on the helmet mount . It’s perfect . Made a huge difference mate. I did a chest mount vid for the first time in years this week and it was horrible . We can still ride here and I’ve had a few rides this week. Please take care mate 🤘. Mick

I actually find I'm really enjoying the clipless pedals! The Crank Bros pedals are much easier to ride than the SPD pedals, which just felt sketchy. Your feet stay so planted on rougher trail - it's quite nice! Just have to get out of the "if I crash this would be bad" head space.
Glad you can still get out to ride! We're technically allowed to here, but I'm avoiding it for now... we'll see how long this goes on. Sticking to casual/ calm rides for now!

Lost In The Woods and that’s the thought I always had and one day it happened . Didn’t end well lol. Jumping is incredible but just the feeling of no ejector seat was horrible .
It’s early morning here and about to mow my lawns then go for a ride . Getting the kids out for a bush walk is also on the list , they are going crazy .

Helmet view looks great. Enough of he trail and your bike. Howz the Offering treating you? Any pros and cons so far? Anything you would change now that you spent some time on the bike?

I'm really enjoying the Offering! Even after a year of owning it I struggle to find much to complain about. I only have two small gripes with the bike, but nothing deal breaking for me. The first would be there isn't much room inside the frame to strap stuff like tubes and tools. Once you've got a water bottle in there, it's a squeeze to get anything else in. The second is related to my bike rack (a "North Shore Rack"), but the headtube is quite thick so it rubs on my bike rack and the paint is starting to wear away, even though I make sure to pad it with a cloth whenever I put the bike on the rack.
