    Nice video on an awesome looking trail, 200ft of climbing in my local woods so I imagine that trail would scare the living daylights out of me. Izzo looks like a decent all round bike 👍

    I’ve got one of these coming in a month and this video is solid proof I made a good choice. This trail alone is gnarlier than most of what’s in my area. Cheers

      Glad you found it useful! The bike seems really capable even with the shorter travel than I'm used to riding, and I think it'll feel even better once I get a few volume spacers in the fork.

      same here. can't wait till it gets here. Just got an email from YT customer service saying that everything looks to be on schedule for that august delivery. cheers Bert

      Have you guys gottem them yet? if so, how do they feel? this is a dream bike of mine and thinking of saving up.. I'm worried about it being a carbon frame on a low price mtb (for carbon that is), so a bit worried that the frame could crack or snap more easily

    • @03BigBear
      @03BigBear 4 года назад

      Anton H sure did! Actually received it a couple days early and had the first full trail ride yesterday.
      It feels great so far, and surprisingly performs really well on the downhill even though it’s “short travel.” Climbs great as expected and is light and nimble. I wouldn’t worry too much about the carbon as YT has a great history with their carbon and downhill accolades. Mi say pull the trigger buddy!

    great video thanks for sharing. not many Izzo videos out in the wild yet. I have an XL on order but am in between sizes. whats your height and size of bike you went with?

    • @jeremiah-lo-mein
      @jeremiah-lo-mein 4 года назад +1

      Joey Bellina I think in the other video he said he’s 6’4” and riding a xxl if I’m not mistaken. I’ve got a a Commencal TR 29 trail smasher but would love a smaller travel more xc oriented pedaler for flow and xc, but dang this thing is capable.

    • @lost_in_the_woods
      @lost_in_the_woods  4 года назад +1

      I'm 6'6", so I didn't have much choice but to go with XXL.

    • @danstanley9341
      @danstanley9341 4 года назад

      I’m 6-5 and would get the xxl too. Can you confirm how many mm of spacers you can get under the stem? With long legs we always have to think about seat height and what that will do to how much I have to lean over to get down to the bars. Thanks.

    • @lost_in_the_woods
      @lost_in_the_woods  4 года назад

      @@danstanley9341 They only left about 2-3mm of extra space on the steerer tube, so spacers aren't going to help you much there. I swapped my bars out for 35mm rise bars and put a shorter stem on - that helped get me in the ride position I prefer.

  • @jeremiah-lo-mein

    Absolutely amazing looking trail! Just curious what made you decide to go with such a short travel trail bike for this type of trail?

    • @lost_in_the_woods
      @lost_in_the_woods  4 года назад +1

      Mostly just new bike stoke haha. I've got an Evil Offering too that I normally ride when I'm on this mountain, I'm just having fun testing the limits of this bike since I just got it.

    • @johnhurt888
      @johnhurt888 4 года назад +4

      @@lost_in_the_woods how much slower on the izzo on this trail than your usual with your evil offering?

  • @ryanburrows8403
    @ryanburrows8403 4 года назад +1

    Does this bike struggle with technical climbs? I'm in an area where we don't have mountains with fire roads back up, you'll have constant ups and downs on the trails with a lot of steep technical climbs. Seems you got off the bike on the climbs I saw which would really ruin the experience for me since steep technical climbs are half of my ride in order to go down again. Thoughts? I did order the pro race but have two weeks to cancel. Maybe I should stick with a more xc focused bike?

    • @lost_in_the_woods
      @lost_in_the_woods  4 года назад

      Hah, it’s more like I suck at technical climbs than the bike does. In both of those cases my rear tire spun out in a low traction scenario (one a wet root, the other a wet rock ramp), so I just pushed. Worth noting that I’ve never cleared either of those climbs on any of my bikes.

    • @ryanburrows8403
      @ryanburrows8403 4 года назад

      @@lost_in_the_woods ah right it was wet, forgot about that. Thanks a lot for responding. I'm borrowing a pure xc bike now which does great at climbs, hopefully this is good enough.

  • @mizutani2144

    The twistloc (i think), i know it broke and that but how did it feel while it was working? im thinking that you maybe could accidentaly
    twist it on a descend making the shock stiff.. could that be a common problem?

    • @lost_in_the_woods
      @lost_in_the_woods  4 года назад

      It worked well while it actually worked. Twisting accidentally while descending wasn't an issue because you actually twist the remote to unlock the suspension and press the button to lock it out again.

  • @colemitchmtb
    @colemitchmtb 3 года назад

    Have you thought of using the dissector as a front tire on the Izzo? I just put them F&R on my trail bike and it's the perfect combination for me: very fast-rolling, bit still great cornering grip.

    • @colemitchmtb
      @colemitchmtb 3 года назад

      However, I also ride in Colorado Springs, which is about the driest riding spot you can get especially in the summer.

    • @lost_in_the_woods
      @lost_in_the_woods  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, that's one of the tires I was looking at. I was thinking I might try dissector front & rekon rear, or maybe just keep the forecaster as my rear. But honestly, for what I use the Izzo for the forecasters are doing fine - I don't normally ride this sort of stuff on my Izzo!

    Thank you for your videos on the Izzo. I live in Florida and it seems to be the adequate bike for our trails. Just wondering whether some drops and few little jumps is too much for the intended use?

    • @lost_in_the_woods
      @lost_in_the_woods  4 года назад +1

      I wouldn’t ride it on a rampage course haha but it’s definitely burly enough to do jumps and drops.

      Lost In The Woods thank you very much for your response. Just ordered the same as yours. Wanted the launch edition as it is full AXS with cheaper wheels to keep the price low but it is not available. Pity cause for $6000 usd it is a bargain.

      The Spur looks really cool too! It came out just after I got my Izzo, otherwise I might've been tempted to get the Spur instead! Of course, the value you're going to get from YT will be much greater than from Transition... but overall I'm sure they're both very fun bikes to ride.
