I can remember the day my family went to pick up our HQ vacationer, it was the same green with gold roof . Over the years we it had more hits than Elvis . I can also remember someone running up the back of it at a set of lights .

Just curious but why is this so rusty? I live California USA and thought Australia had a climate similar to ours. Our cars are mostly rust free. I have a 1978 GMC pickup and not a speck of rust on it.

30 years ago i was saying filler must go over primer. ( acid etch primer in those days). I got laughed at so much. Now everyone does it. Im a restorer and the amount of cars i saw with rust under the filler when doing restos convinced me of this, but it was so crazy it seemed like i was the only one who believed this.

It's the sweet sight of progress. Nothing like cleaning and prep to make you feel great...

KC rust to most people is scary, and that stops them from getting the old girls back on the road. Sharing your channel hopefully shows them their are body shops that specialise in this and not be scared or talked out of resto by high volume panel shops interested in fast turnaround insurance work Keep producing Cheers Dave Grumpy

I think you will find with the rust under the bog is partly caused by back in the day we use to rub down wet and bog is pour-us So that didn’t help Some of those old repairs were real rubbish hey

I had one, same Covert green colour. A Wollongong car leaked water every time it rained.
