    Such a good colour. Dad’s HQ gets a lot of attention, everyone comments how great it looks. It was mustard yellow originally and we chose Sunburst to spice it up a little.

      Mustard Yellow is a nice colour but if I had the choice between the solid yellows in the HQ range I would definitely choose Chrome Yellow.
      You can’t go wrong with Sunburst though!

    That colour looks great considering it's an old school metallic, and not a pearl.

      Thanks Trevor. Would be interesting to see this colour used as a base before a gold or yellow pearl coat.

    Awesome work bud, I'm up to roughly the same stage as you except I have no idea what I'm doing.
    I've herd mixed opinions with the wet on wet primer with base, is it just a slightly more reduced epoxy primer used as a sealer ?.

    • @TheRestoShed
      @TheRestoShed  6 месяцев назад +1

      @Tony7190GR I used a 2k
      urethane primer as my wet on wet for my basecoat to adhere to as per the technical data sheets of the product, but there is epoxy primers out there that can be used as wet on wet too.

      @@TheRestoShed just bought the same primer you used for my car, hopefully it's a bit forgiving on me, will you be doing the same wet on wet process for the rest of the car ?.

    • @TheRestoShed
      @TheRestoShed  6 месяцев назад +1

      @Tony7190GR I generally just use wet on wet primer for areas that are prone to rub throughs (door jambs, inside doors ect) as it makes the prep work easier imo.

      @@TheRestoShed thanks mate, sorry if these sound like stupid questions, I'm restoring an lj torana and this is the most I have ever done on panels, your videos have helped a lot.

    Looks great. Hahaha! I was Jacking off at the start so 14 min later I'm spent. Lol. I'm close to the same stage, Just got paints and materials today and in the process of sealing up the spray area, I've body worked and rubbed inside the doors also so maybe 1 step ahead or behind, a bit anxious/nervous about the painting though. I pinned my hinges so leaving them off I think.

      @TheRestoShed  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the video and yourself by the sounds of things.
      Sounds like you’re a step ahead, shouldn’t take me long to sort the insides of the doors out though and be at the next stage.
      Putting the paint on is the easy part, refer to your data sheets, spray some test panels and have at it on the real deal when you’re ready.
