    This video just gave me an epiphany after 30 years of playing golf. Until today I always considered the golf swing to have two parts, the back swing into downswing. I just realized the golf swing actually has three parts. I've been completely oblivious to the middle transition. No wonder I have issues with a too fast of a downswing. Mind-blown!

    At the beginning you said that the second pendulum of the hands, wrist and the golf club cannot be held back. Correct? So isn’t it physically impracticable for any golfer to try to hold the angle of a traveling golf club with their hands and wrist just before their club contact the ball? In fact telling the golfer to pull down the handle of the club towards them, actually shut down their rolling/ turning/ slanted rib cage which is a part of the first pendulum. Is it not? Cheers

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf Месяц назад

      Yes you never try and physically hold any angles, the pulling in the downswing will maintain and sometimes increase the angle between the left arm and club shaft, which you see in tour players. The rolling of the hands is a result from good body mechanics, i.e having the joints aligned correctly so they fold (elbows) and unhinge (wrists) anatomically correct. You basically get the club moving as fast as possible, and then allow your body to go with it without trying to interfere, thanks

    This video is so slept on, literally any time I’m striking it bad is because I’m not letting the club release from putting on the brakes in the body. Best drills for me is starting off my warm up doing this but with chips and pitch shots first, to dial in the tempo then gradually work my way up to a full swing. I’m convinced the smoothest swings on tour are the best golfers at timing up their deceleration. Whenever I focus on decelerating my ball speed goes up, centre face gets found and I look like I’m barely doing anything. Was ripping 130mph ball speed on a 7 iron blade today and watched the video back, and my follow through was silky smooth. Guess what my only feel was… Deceleration

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 2 месяца назад

      Yes it is still relevant. It's ok for the bum to move back rather than forwards towards the ball which is the problem for most golfers AKA early extension. thanks

    Great video and been watching other with gears. What are some reasons gears 3d shows why a player can dump angles from p5-p6 from the top and can’t get hands over trail leg with shaft parallel to ground? Instead the hands are just behind the trail leg with shaft parallel to ground?

    You say 10,000 words to say absolutely nothing. I have never heard a person take more time to say less. People want to learn the golf swing. If you want to be a teacher, teach the golf swing in a way people can understand. If I had to listen to you drone on about nothing for 2 or 3 hours, I would shoot myself. You need to get off youtube because you absolutely suck.

    I did my normal 100 balls on the range the other day. I kept my grip really loose and kept the release really smooth and for the last 10 shots the impact felt like a knife going through butter. Important to note I was not decelerating, I was just not trying to 'hit' the ball with any extra force.

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 3 месяца назад

      It will bend in transition as you change direction into the downswing which loads the shaft, like fishing and then unloads on impact, feeling like you are doing the whole swing smoothly is the key, so you won't feel it flexing or jerking around too much when you do it correctly. Here is a good video, thanks ruclips.net/video/FB-hmXjZh3M/видео.htmlsi=CnIO_7aQBIsOQHCk

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 3 месяца назад

      You will thin it v's hitting it fat which is a big problem for most golfers as they never get anywhere near in front of the ball. Its important to over do it and hit it thin because you know you are going in the right direction, with a little bit of calibration back and forth you can then get the feeling of hitting the ball with more compression. By the way, the steep shoulder turn creates the spine tilt, the best ball strikers shoulders turn on a steep angle, if you are turning your shoulders flat like most golfers then your not going to get the correct tilt or compression, exaggerate the steep shoulder turn and film yourself to check it, flat shoulders on the backswing is a killer move 👍

    • @gforcegolf

      There are various ways to take the club back from Matt Kucher (Inside and flat) to Fred Couples (outside and upright) which are 2 complete opposites. In the examples I mention the backswing would appear to be irrelevant? The key is the transition into the downswing, and sequencing the movements to get maximum energy transfer into the clubhead. For me personally I could never strike it as good swinging back on plane or more upright, so everybody is different and I would recommend experimenting with both upright and flat swings to find what suits you best, The only 1 thing that all the best ball strikers do the same is sequence the movement efficiently, which you can't see happening with the naked eye, they also don't all swing exactly the same and neither should you try to mimic a particular swing. That's why I invented the GForce Swing Trainers, they are a great tool to help you find and feel your natural swing and only work when you sequence correctly, a poor sequence with a super flexible shaft will send the ball way off to the right, when you sequence correctly you will hit them perfectly straight :-)

    Fact check: (1) Hand speed of 25 mph is unheard of. Even the fastest PGA average is between 18~22mph. (2) Plane of 45 deg is an extreme even for Driver and is too flat for Iron, which averages 58~62 deg on average.

    Very good drills. I’ve found if I keep my back to the target, that keeps me from spinning out early with lower body, and from coming over the top with shoulders. I try to feel trail arm going under lead arm, with some built in shaft lean in trail hand, for the shots on the ground. I also swing in to out. I’m 70 and still hit the ball pretty well, even with arthritis issues…

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 3 месяца назад

      most golfers struggle with over the top or spinning the lower body out to soon which causes them to come OTT (amateur) or trapped inside (pros) so keeping the back to the target as long as possible and bringing the club down to waist height with the shaft parallel to your toe's is a good rehearsal to get into, 👍

    been practiceing ,seems like the Fleetwood drill is after the fact of ball impact. the Fleetwood stopper,but my ball still goes right I assume because on impact club face is open to the target,what other drill do you recommend to get club face square to ball thanks John

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 3 месяца назад

      Start with short half swings stopping your hands at impact, the key is to learn to get the ball to go left first with the gforce swing trainer, which most golfers find impossible to do, because they are typically forcing the club through with the hands, arms or body. It's about sequencing the movements in order to get maximum energy transfer into the clubhead.

    Too much going up and down is not consistent in my opinion.you might hit the ground all the time or top the ball. Fat and thin shots.

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 4 месяца назад

      Your right about fat and thin shots, but you have to do it, and your body will calibrate. The key is to not over think when you are practicing this, just trust the calibration and it does do it as long as you don't interfere with your central nervous system by bombarding it with swing thoughts or trying to compensate or manipulate your body or club. Trust the feel.

    Your G Force club shows clearly how the club face "moves out" or "bends" towards the ball as you bring the club down to last parallel. It doesn't go straight down except if you do the split hand drill where it does more so. It shows coming down you're pulling in with your lead hand and pushing out with your train hand as you lower the club. That's my take anyway.

    Hi Stuart, Have you checked out the iron Byron golf machine? its very similar to what you are explaining. I bought the 7 iron G force about a month ago and i can honestly say it has slowed my swing down (transition ) and given me more control and distance. These videos have really helped with my understanding of the golf swing. Thank you for taking time to post this info.

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 4 месяца назад

      Hi Jason, yes I came across that many years ago and there are various other ones used to test golf equipment. I guess those machines are either anchored to the floor or weighted down at the bottom so they don't topple over. What we have to do as humans in a similar way is to instead lower our body closer to the ground, this would give our swing stability and prevent us from toppling over, this lowering is something I see in every tour player that I have looked at on Gears 3d. Thanks for your purchase of the gforce 7 iron :-) the key move is the transition and the swing trainer forces you to wait for the shaft to load before starting down, quite often golfers get to quick in transition and you can feel it in the shaft v's a good shot so its easier to feel and correct. If you get chance it would really help if you could write a review on how the swing trainer and videos are helping you out, here is the link :-) thank you www.gforcegolf.com/a/review/write

    The golf club is released by the throw out action of centrifugal force. The hands are never to be manipulated. The three hand imperatives are: 1) Never be prepared to swing from the wrists 2) Never be prepared to change grip pressure point pressure and 3) Never be prepared to bring the hands to a stop. The hands don't move, they are being moved by an effective pivot which is sequenced rotation employing the shoulders, hips, knees and feet. It is the rotation back and through , with effective radius maintained by pressure down the shaft from the right arm that gives the whole assembly mass. It is the change of direction of this mass into the downswing , against the inertia generated on the backswing that stresses the shaft, delivered to and beyond impact in conservation of angular momentum that accounts for lag, but it is that through out action of centrifugal force, not by any active hand manipulation that releases the club.

    so, what makes the hands slow down? just making the effort to do so or some other movement?

      Simply allowing the clubhead to release naturally, rather than trying to hold the wrist angle, or manipulate it in some way. There is a diagram in the link below, the red ball is the clubhead and the blue ball is the hands, you can see the blue ball slow down as the clubhead releases. Also some drills I made. www.gforcegolf.com/pages/q-a If you want more technical detail, check out this link www.tutelman.com/golf/swing/golfSwingPhysics2.php#doublependulum

    Hi Stuart, thanks for another great video. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this one in terms of how the right wrist should release. it seems to make sense and makes things much simpler ruclips.net/video/bjkObEXmxTw/видео.html

    Hi Stuart....I find I hit the ball more consistently if use a bowed left wrist...(but I have to swing under shoulders not around otherwise pull or hook occurs) still not getting the distance I used to.....sign of old age I guess...

    are you going to make those pivot decks for sale? seems a lot different than the usual weight shift board.

      weight shift / rocker boards you see on the market promote a sway, this is a simple and better board to use because if you do sway the nose of the board comes off the floor. You are best to pick up a skate board and take the wheels off, apply something to the base so it does not slide around when you swing, I have rubber sheet on the bottom of mine 👍

    It's not the firing of the lower body, more the recentering, which you show Rory doing in a later video, which starts a 'slingshot' type reaction. The pulling feel is then probably just resistence against centrifugal force generated by your core and lower body, or even aiding that force by reducing the radius of the swing to increase speed. Remember that Jack Nichlaus said that golf was played through the feet, which is basically just the recentering of weight.

    Hogans advice about 'firing' the hips was only really applicable to him as if you watch his swing he recenters his hips a long way towards the target at the end of the backswing , which is what makes it look like 'stack and tilt' in still photos at the position.

    When you look at a lot of famous ball strikers at impact they look a lot like your chicken wing demonstration - George Knudson for example, who emphasised weight shift and swinging through the ball and not 'picking' at it.
