Very good drills. I’ve found if I keep my back to the target, that keeps me from spinning out early with lower body, and from coming over the top with shoulders. I try to feel trail arm going under lead arm, with some built in shaft lean in trail hand, for the shots on the ground. I also swing in to out. I’m 70 and still hit the ball pretty well, even with arthritis issues…

most golfers struggle with over the top or spinning the lower body out to soon which causes them to come OTT (amateur) or trapped inside (pros) so keeping the back to the target as long as possible and bringing the club down to waist height with the shaft parallel to your toe's is a good rehearsal to get into, 👍

What’s the risk of getting the head and body in front of the before ball contact with the lean of the upper body?

You will thin it v's hitting it fat which is a big problem for most golfers as they never get anywhere near in front of the ball. Its important to over do it and hit it thin because you know you are going in the right direction, with a little bit of calibration back and forth you can then get the feeling of hitting the ball with more compression.
By the way, the steep shoulder turn creates the spine tilt, the best ball strikers shoulders turn on a steep angle, if you are turning your shoulders flat like most golfers then your not going to get the correct tilt or compression, exaggerate the steep shoulder turn and film yourself to check it, flat shoulders on the backswing is a killer move 👍

this video shows what everyone on tv is doing and what I talk about in the video, its 3d data taken from 100's of tour player swings to give the average tour player swing model...

In terms of the spine tilting towards the target, again this 3d video will show you what is actually happening. I only go off the 3d data for the content I put out in my videos :-)

I had a lesson recently and was told to turn my shoulders should feel like they are turning level on the backswing and he expressly told me not to dip 🤷🏻‍♂️

check this video out I did using gears 3d, clearly shows the lowering happening straight away, also watch how steep the shoulders turn in relation to the ground 6mins in I get to the point, worth watching the full video 👍ruclips.net/video/4A-28-kqVU8/видео.htmlsi=nip7zzgz1mSSh6UK

      That doesn’t work for me.

Level shoulders Moonface doesn’t work for me. Also the reason for dipping is to use the ground for leverage. I hope you didn’t give this person a lot of money…

Cowen clearly describes moving up ("spiral up") ruclips.net/user/shortsB7eWA9CjTRc during the backswing. Can you comment on the discrepancy? Thanks in advance.....

sure you can check out this video I did using Gears 3D, you can see the lowering starting straight away. There is no upward movement in the backswing. 6 mins in - ruclips.net/video/4A-28-kqVU8/видео.htmlsi=Y7LzejxJ3OLNbs-H
