We're looking at widespread property damage, especially to infrastructure like roads, utilities, and buildings. Insurance claims will skyrocket, and the local economy could take months or even years to recover. Businesses will be disrupted, tourism will decline, and many people might face long-term financial hardships. Recovery costs could run into billions, and that's not including the toll on industries like agriculture and fisheries. It's devastating both economically and personally for those affected.
If you've achieved any financial security, savings, owning a house, a pension.... you'll find these are going to be a financial burden around your neck..... they'll tax you to oblivion..
Rising prices have affected my intention of retiring at 62, working part-time, and building my savings. I'm worried about whether individuals who weathered the 2008 financial crisis found it less challenging than my current situation. The stock market's volatility, coupled with a reduced income, is making me anxious about having enough for retirement.
More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire.
I am an old friend of Charlie’s from Sarasota radio station WSMR 89.1. Charlie was a great volunteer and friend and I hadn’t seen him for over a decade! So sad he’s lost his home, but also so encouraging that he’s sharing Jesus in his deep loss. Say hello from Doug Poll.

Love hearing the truth being mentioned in some of the most desperate of situations. "For the things that are seen are temporary, but that which is unseen is eternal."
Religion can be soothing. But I think I'd be putting my thoughts into dealing with the physical realities. Like the fact that, since intense storms are likely to continue or worsen in coming years, living in vulnerable places is self defeating. Time to move, adjust, and adapt.

A lot of newscaster moved their reporters away from Siesta Key when Milton wobbled and changed the landfall prediction away from Tampa. I think CNN said they had people at Turtle Beach that had to run out of there. The closest I saw anchors go to Siesta Key was Sarasota. Bradenton, St. Petersburg and Tampa were brutalized and they still had journalists there on location

May GOD BLESS YOU dear brothers and your loved ones and neighbors. So sorry for your loss , so refreshing to hear your message preached after such a horrific event. Jesus is the way the truth and the life.( John 14:6)
I lived in Sarasota for over 40 years. Just this past February, I moved to another state. I would never want to live on Siesta Key, Lido Key or Longboat Key. The potential for storm damage is just too great. I lived downtown (on 7th St.) for 25 years and went through a couple major hurricanes. Nothing like this one though. This video depicts the absolute worst place in Sarasota for a hurricane. Most of the rest of the city will have some damage, downed trees and power lines, and will recover more easily, but the damage to Siesta Key depicted in this video does not come as a surprise or is it unexpected. It always gets trashed in a storm. This is a very wealthy, upscale area. The people that live there must have more money than brains, or faith in their insurance company. I have neither, so after 40+ years there, I chose to get out! Sorry for your loss.
Or property has been passed down through the generations. The video states that Charlie’s grandfather built the house. The first, or one of the first to build on Siesta Key.
WOW! What a wonderful evangelizing message! 😍 So sorry about Charlie's property though. Thanks for sharing this video. It was a wonderful visual message.
I'm so sorry for the loss of the material but you guys talking about Jesus is so wonderful. You are loved by Yeshua and by the body of Christ. Praise God you're all ok.
Cat 5 survivor here I did that mess in 18 with Micheal I’m good any hurricane I’m out been there done that we saw winds north of 150 almost all the trees were gone and most of the structures were damaged in Panama City and Mexico Beach. Micheal was wind driven more than the water thankfully. Y’all got the double whammy with Helene and now Milton and possibly the next time around with the next storm in the gulf
Please say a prayer for my families house in Sarasota. We probably wont have any updates for a few days. Not knowing what the damage is has been so unsettling. I’m praying hard and we can use any extra prayers we can get. Thank you. ❤️ God bless to everyone impacted by the hurricanes.
Thank-you for sharing this, I live in Sarasota and I had to go down and check on a friends place just before you get to the bridge and they had it closed off. I was wondering what it looked like, just what I imagined it would, so sad. Prayers for you and everyone out there.

Praying for all on SK! It is our family’s vacation home away from home. We were just there in July and rented a golf cart in the Village and drove it right by Charlie’s house on our way down to Turtle Beach. Shaner’s Pizza just a couple of doors down from your church is also one of the first places we always eat when we come to town. My favorite part of this video is at the end when you guys discuss the simple message of the Gospel and properly put this earthly life in its correct perspective.

Im 41 from Cape Coral/Fort Myers and ive been through many hurricanes. Its something you hope to never experience again. But us crazy Floridians just keep moving forward!!
Thank you, Sergio, for this update. Give Charlie our regards, and we are thankful he is okay.
Anyone who has been to Siesta knows it's a very special place. Watched my kids grow up on it. Glad Charlie is alright.
OMG - my daughter & family live in Riverview & took me to Siesta Key beach - so nice - 'sugar like' sand. There is a reason it is one of the top beaches in the USA. Hoping things get back to normal soon.
We are waiting to hear from Doris a 77 -78 year old family member who chose to ride out the storm in Sarasota. We are praying that she is safe. Please keep her in your prayers 🙏🏼
Stuff isn’t important! Without each other we are nothing! He said, “Love one another as I have loved you!!”
Thank you for reporting Sergio. So very very sorry Charlie and everyone on Siesta Key.....
I remember the green sky and that same calmness before an F4 tornado. It ends quickly unlike a hurricane.
Glad you're safe
God bless beautiful Florida
God bless you pastor Charlie and Sergio. There IS light at the end of the tunnel our Lord Jesus Christ ❤❤🙏🙏🙏
So sorry for all the damaged your home received, doing this hazarded walk has helped so many. Thank you
Well done gentlemen! Great gospel message at the end. Amen! Praise our Lord Jesus Christ!🙏
Amen! Let His Name be praised!
Beautiful words to end views of such devastation. Charlie you are a beautiful soul ❤❤❤
Amen, praise the Lord! Believe! Repent!Give Praise! Thank you, both! God bless! Prayed for you both!
God's all powerful but powerless when it comes to hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, avalanche, etc., etc.
That gentleman at the end said it ALL. God bless him and all of those suffering souls from these two DEVASTATING hurricanes. Please keep them in your prayers and IF possible contribute.
I will praise you in the storm. Job 1:21) where Job, after having lost his house, his fortune, his family and his friends says, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord!" I'LL PRAISE YOU IN THE STORM= I'll worship you even in this horrible situation.
Thank you. Praise the Lord JESUS CHRIST.
Thank you for sharing. It's nice that you know the gospel and you encourage others to know it. There is more to salvation though than just knowing the gospel. We are called to obey the gospel as well. We're called to hear it, believe it, repent of our sins, confess Jesus as the son of God and to be baptized for the remission of our sins and remain faithful until death.
Prayers for all affected by the storms. 🙏🏽
Praise God!! I'm 60 and have tried to live my whole life for Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life! There is only one path to God and His name is Jesus! Thank you for sharing your journey to God.
Hate to see the loss so many have suffered from Milton. I grew up in Bradenton and used to go Sarasota to go dancing. I left Florida many years ago, but it doesn't make it any easier to see the devastation. Prayers for you as you rebuild.
thank you so much for the powerful message at the end. God bless you.
Gee moose. Your lecture could have waited a day or two
Or property has been passed down through the generations. The video states that Charlie’s grandfather built the house. The first, or one of the first to build on Siesta Key.
Love the message ! Prayers from the Buckeye state for dealing with the aftermath of Milton !
Great job brothers. The life of Christ has been seen in you. You have brought glory to him.
Such a beautiful message in the midst of destruction.
GREAT MESSAGE, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Loving your walk back through the bridge with the best explanation of why you place your trust in Jesus!
Good viewing and meaningful too with a message of hope. ❤
Beautiful Life God does give us! Praise Jesus ❤. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for taking us on such a beautiful walk even with all the destruction the two of you brought light!
WOW! What a wonderful evangelizing message! 😍 So sorry about Charlie's property though. Thanks for sharing this video. It was a wonderful visual message.
Amen ❤ I really love hearing your soulful testimony on Jesus. May god comfort and bless people who have been affected.
Amen brothers! Keep on keeping on!
I'm so sorry for the loss of the material but you guys talking about Jesus is so wonderful. You are loved by Yeshua and by the body of Christ. Praise God you're all ok.
Best RUclips video I have seen. I love it when people speak the truth in a world like we live in today. ❤
Prayer is so powerful.
Thank-you for sharing this, I live in Sarasota and I had to go down and check on a friends place just before you get to the bridge and they had it closed off. I was wondering what it looked like, just what I imagined it would, so sad. Prayers for you and everyone out there.
God bless him. I appreciate his faith. He's right. Jesus is the light. Prayers for Florida. They will rebuilt. Special prayers for all those who lost their lives and their families. Thanks for making this video. I spent six months in Siesta Key years ago in a condo on the beach. I really loved the area.
What a blessing you are. I prayed and asked God to be glorified through the negative.. Hope when hopeless.
Thanks for sharing and you assisting Charlie. Bless you Charlie for being so calm with what you have had too experience with two hurricanes. 🙏❤️
Thanking the Lord that despite the direct hit, Sarasota was spared major damage. Thank you Lord.
Amen brother, so so much to be thankful for. Great video with a beautiful message, praise the Lord you folks are alright, continued prayers for strength in the days ahead, love from Scotland 🙏🏻❤️
No spoilers
Video is great, thanks for sharing it with us
Best part it's in the end
Praying for all on SK! It is our family’s vacation home away from home. We were just there in July and rented a golf cart in the Village and drove it right by Charlie’s house on our way down to Turtle Beach. Shaner’s Pizza just a couple of doors down from your church is also one of the first places we always eat when we come to town. My favorite part of this video is at the end when you guys discuss the simple message of the Gospel and properly put this earthly life in its correct perspective.
Amen and amen! We lost our home in a flood-but God pushed us out of that house that was destroyed around us! Thank you, Jesus!
