It's not the firing of the lower body, more the recentering, which you show Rory doing in a later video, which starts a 'slingshot' type reaction. The pulling feel is then probably just resistence against centrifugal force generated by your core and lower body, or even aiding that force by reducing the radius of the swing to increase speed. Remember that Jack Nichlaus said that golf was played through the feet, which is basically just the recentering of weight.
Thanks for the great explanation. Would you recommend a pump drill to get the hands pulling down as a preshot routine?
