I wish they had made the Ancient Gods one larger expansion pack, and given it more time in the oven. Kind of like how PS4 Spiderman got the Miles expansion, where its almost a mini game on the side. Having all the levels available, a single hubworld, and more time to develop enemies and balance things would have been great.

I think a good way of maybe balancing the set pieces and cinematics is have no cinematics in level, and just at the start and end of levels and have large set pieces be designated to specific levels, like how halo has a lot of set species for specific levels.

You gotta remember how much variety and interesting gameplay has been pulled out of doom 2 and it's fan made expansions, a game where you can't jump at all. Verticality is cool but it's not the be all end all for interesting combat encounters

It's sad that you abandoned console gaming. It seems like first person shooters or Doom were the only reason you switched. I for one play on both console and PC with any game genre.

The flashlight in the original was only there because of performance limitations at the time. id Software wanted the player to use both the flashlight and gun at the same time. It's annoying when people call obvious limitations the "intended way to play."

You are obviously right that the PSVR version doesn't look that good. But PSVR was never about quality right from the get go. At the time of its release it was both a overwhelming experience and a underwhelming one at the same time. It was amazing to be put into a Virtual world but was massively pixelated and tracking wasn't all that good. But the PSVR was basically made to be a commercial item bought to the masses and it succeeded, there were quality games on PSVR and even some games looked surprisingly good. Doom 3 for PSVR was atrocious, I bought it, played it for 5 minutes and everything looked tiny, you felt miniature. It was a poorly optimised game. But don't slate the PSVR, of course PC is better than console but its the wrong comparison to make.
