Welcome back! In this video I'll be taking the wood from a 1907 organ and turning it into a bowl. Probably the first organ you'll see in a wood turning video being cast in epoxy and turned into a bowl. But leave it to me to come up with a project that ends up kicking my butt fighting me all the way lol.
This organ came from my aunt and uncle as a project for the lathe. When i removed the mirror there was a newspaper article from 1907 behind it and the mirror was stamped and dated to 1907. The wood was mostly black walnut.
I had to cut it into sections, plane and glue it up into a massive block. The keys are cast in Alumilite clear slow. And I learned that clear slow does not like CA glue....
