  • Isn't that a mouth full! lol. In this video I'll be taking wood from a fallen dogwood tree and making it into a wood bowl. The dogwodd had been downed for quite some time and the root system showed a decent little rootball that was just laying there for the pickings. So I did what I could with it and got a few all wood bowl pieces from it.
The Grain in this stuff is just beautiful. Its one species my eyes will always be open for. The spalt zones give it an almost zebra pattern. And lucky enough, it did have some burl in it that I managed to capture and not let go to waste.
    Thanks for watching!

So gorgeous! Around here (Seattle, WA) Dogwoods are bushes & considered weeds by most people. I'd love to see what they look like as trees!

Really? They have beautiful blooms on them in the spring. They do take many many years to get big though.

Havent tried a twice turned bowl with a mortise. Do you find that is easier than a tenon? Looks awesome, brother!!!

I green turned that in the early beginning stages. Was more complicated but kinda just doing one in reverse. Bottoms up! Lol.
