- Welcome back! This is another regular wood bowl video, but just sit tight because I'll have more (fun) wood projects coming soon. One being a nut slinger, yup, a nut slinger lol. Having many walnut trees in your yard gives you tons of free baseball size objects that need to be cleaned up. So I found a fun way to get my son to do it lol.
But anyway, this dogwood wood bowl is one of many I had to finish up out of my kiln. It is twice turned (turned green then allowed to dry for a year and then finished up. It's sanded to 1200 grit and finished with Mahoney's walnut oil and wax.

Nice project. Good of you to share it with us. I don't think that I have ever seen a dogwood tree large enough to provide a bowl that size. It must have been a monster!
Na, most of this came from the base and rootball. I’ve seen some I’d like to get my hands on though. One piece had some nice burling to it, and it sold quick!
